Could it be that Roy has told his team that he's tired of wearing a face diaper and putting up with the childish stupidity of what has become today's NCAA game ?? I would not blame him one bit if he called it game over and I don't feel any different. God bless you Roy Williams and thank you for your total dedication to your family, your passions and to the character you have built in those that will be left in your footprints. Helluva job bud .. thank you 👍

yeah I wouldn’t blame him either. They’ve turned the college game into a joke with their silly rules and focus on money and “me first” mentality.

I doubt Roy is going to want to be around to see the effects of NIL. We are going to see teams from the SEC that have never been good, all of the sudden become top 25 programs. They are so far ahead in the NIL game, it’s crazy. They’ve been cheating for years and it’s about to be a free for all.

While I hope Roy is here a few more years, give me Stackhouse if he retires.
Young enough to be here many years, young enough to relate to the youth of today & has major AAU connections.

Stackhouse? Why? Other than wearing UNC jersey once upon a time why would you even consider him? Maybe he can coach, maybe not. He sure hasn't rattled the college basketball world at Vandy. UNC basketball is big business, and the front porch of the University. Many excellent sitting head coaches would kill for this job. If UNC had a family member that met that criteria, that would be great. But they don't. The University has actually had Roy at a bargain price for a lot of years. Spend whatever it takes to get the absolute best coach one can get when Roy retires. Now I can see a scenario where Roy decides to walk, but I don't think so. In his press conference the other night, Roy got a little bit emotional, but not much. Not nearly as emotional as I have seen him be in other years. I would think we would have seen a lot more emotion if he knew that was his last game. But then again, maybe Roy was just so fed up with this team that he just wasn't very sentimental about the experience.

He's aged big time... and, the last 2 years have been really rough.
I think in his last interview after Wisconsin he said the last two years have not been fun at all and he hates it for the fans and the kids how Covid and the Covid requirements having basically killed what was known as college basketball.

He also said he is low 70s I think but he feels like he is 108 years old. And he looks 100 after a loss and when they are getting drilled by teams that have changed with the game changing. He said the last 2 years have aged him about 30 years

he looks tired as hell - I feel bad for him. Awesome coach who truly bleeds Carolina Blue and actually pours 100% into the team and the kids - but he seems worn out. But he sure doesn’t want to leave with half or more of our good D1players bailing. Going out with such an inconsistent team that didn’t play hard, smart, together consistently- I don’t think he wants that to be the last team people remember Roy by.

I'll remember the 2017 team as his "last team" anyway.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did retire. The man looks exhausted. It may be because of the “all about me” attitude of the kids these days. Name on the back more important than the name on the front. Hope he sticks around for a few more years.
