And now a player from Mizzou has had 4 women file a complaint against him. Same.thing that has happened to Felton happened to him he lawyered up because he said apparently it's cool to say me too in this climate and when this is over I intend to clear my name. Hmmmm SJW making a movement I wonder how many innocent people get run over in the process. And no I am.not saying jalek is innocent only that it's very convenient to go after athletes or men in position of power period right now

The "Me Toooo movement" there is not a 1 size fits all and yet it seems 1 size is being fitted to all. Frankly, telling your buds about a nude girl putting out so go get in line while in college does not strike me as anything more than what goes on in college all the time. Now if the girl were gang raped that is a crime and should be punished. All I am saying is lots of stuff happens in college that someone could wake up the next morning and regret and yet now days it seems lives are torn down due to that regret.
Billy, if what I am told occurred it is a completely STUPID thing to have put on social media, where the proof can easily be found and shown to the whole world, it is Marvin Austin part 2 and comes on the heels of the MSU stuff. UNC will and has to take a strong stand.
Listen, I agree with you that this kind of shit has happened in colleges since the beginning of college.
However, different world these days. Kids need to know that when they put something on social media, even if it's snapchat which "disappears", it doesn't disappear.
Combine that with the climate of today's me too movement and Jalek has to be smarter than we were at his age. It's unfortunate, but it's just the way of the world now.
That's literally the point of the movement, though - harmful behaviors are so common that they're not taken seriously because they're "normal", despite the fact that those behaviors are harmful to a significant number of women; hence, "Me Too".
Sure, there are instances in which people conflate "regret" with "lack of consent", and that's absolutely a problem. But someone distributing naked pictures of you without your consent (speaking broadly; I don't know any facts about Felton's case) isn't that type of conflation and shouldn't be regarded as part of the cost of attendance.

What insults? Pointing out that using such language makes you sound bad is not an insult, it's simple fact. And good advice for those who don't want to come across that way.

Calling someone a "right wing lemming" is an insult. Not sure how anyone could think otherwise unless they don't know the definition of lemming. You are also using the term "right wing" in an insulting manner and in another post insinuated that people who use the "SJW" term are all racist. Radicals on the left. Basically, on the left, oppressed people (women, minorities, LGBT) have no agency over their own feelings or mental state.
Whenever they are upset or emotionally hurt, someone else is to blame. That someone needs to be punished.
What's particularly interesting here is that we have two members of the progressive stack battling it out (woman vs black male). In these situations, the woman wins. It's just a shame that Jalek isn't gay, or Muslim. That might give him the edge he needs.
But as it stands now this is an easy victory for the #metoo folks. They will have a great record by the end of the season.
This. Posting naked pictures of somebody for the world to see without their approval is disgusting and wrong. I don't care if it was normal in your day, it's not okay now. Plenty of things in the annals of history that were once considered commonplace, but we now no longer put up with.
I would love to see how many defenders of this practice would maintain their stance for a man that posted naked pictures of their daughter online against her will.

We're not even sure that's what actually happened. And if it was, I'm betting 100% of us here would be in favor of Jalek facing appropriate punishment. No one is ok with the things you and pln cite. But some of us are completely over the culture of victimization and a refusal to accept any responsibilityfor one's own actions. With all that we've discussed in this thread, it seemed appropriate to express that sentiment.
As far as if that hypothetical situation happened to my daughter, yes, I'd be beyond pissed with whomever spread those pictures. But a lot of anger would be misdirected because the situation would never had happened had my daughter never sent the pictures to Jalek in the first place (if indeed that's how it went down - I'm trying to connect the dots in your hypothetical scenario).
She claims felton is knowingly spreading std’s and has committed a sexual assault.
She's a CNA? IF she is telling something about his medical background on social media that she found out as a result of her work, it won't matter if he did anything wrong. She can't divulge medical information about anyone. That is a big no-no, regardless of the circumstances. Being in the medical field, she should know better.
Now, if SHE is the victim and is saying it online, then she may not get slapped too hard. If she is the victim, however, she could do a lot of damage to her case by posting that kind of thing.
If she is just spreading rumors she heard somewhere and has no first hand knowledge of the actual events or whether he actually has an STD, then she could still be in deep doo-doo and that is pretty stupid. He would have a pretty solid case against her and could really make her life hell.

Eh, not sure there'd be a compelling case. Given that her claims aren't particularly specific, it'd be difficult to prove them false. And Felton is arguably a public figure, meaning he might have to prove actual malice (prove she knew they were false).
I have trouble imagine a scenario in which he'd want to bring a case, at the very least.

All I know is that if dude does come back to the team at any point.... He is gonna get heckled hard on the road. Whole world knows your ass has herpes or they will believe he has em no matter what.
With all the claims against Jalek. Even if he is guilty, but wins in court, he can rip her life apart legally. I can also see her workplace not liking what she is doing. She is throwing a lot of accusations and insults out in public.
If, and I repeat, IF, he is guilty, then nothing else really matters . . JF would be foolish to pursue any other response. He needs to suck it up, admit his mistake to himself, and move on with his life.

Not sure the reward is worth the risk for this kid. A lot of noise coming in from high school specific to grades and character. I’ve mentioned it a few times on this board. This is the last thing we need coming off that NCAA crap. Id send him packing under the “conduct detrimental to the team and program” or “conduct unbecoming of a UNC student athlete” and move on. I’m telling you this is messy.
