NFL 2016-2017

But g, you gotta know It comes with the territory if you're a Yankees, Cowboys, dook basketball fan, etc. They are teams people either love or hate; not much in-between.

And of course there are tons of UNC haters but what the hell do those bovine fondlers in rawleegh know anyway?

no, you're right...and don't get me wrong, i prefer being the hunted, but any logical fan knows they've had average talent the last 20 years...i'm enjoying this ride, though.

yep, you gotta enjoy the ride while it lasts... as a Panther fan, I know all too well how quickly the next one can take you down the highway to hell

it's probably a blessing that dallas is facing teams that have to win to get win...that hasn't happened in years, so they should be focused.

looking forward to martin or leary vs mccoy...should be fun
It's great for me cuz I don't give a shit, so a win is cool and a loss is whatevs!

What a shame...

If only Carolina had played with this much intensity all season. :(

It just shows to go ya.. how quickly things change in the NFL. Panthers were winning the close games last year but this year they are 2-5 in games decided by 7 or less. They easily could be 9-5 right now and tied with Atlanta. oh well...

NFL: This hit to the head was no worse than any of the other hits to the head that we haven't called. Therefore, we're not going to call this one either.

Yet Thomas Davis pushes Cousons WHILE HE IS STILL IN THE FIELD OF PLAY...Cousins falls out of bounds and the most contact made was knocking over a cheerleader..... That one was called.

Calling Bullshit on this one. (oh wait, we could write a novel on how many times this happens)

Panthers playoffs hopes lol

  • Must win out, obviously

  • Tampa Bay (8-6) would have to lose its final two games, including the finale against the Panthers.

  • Green Bay (8-6) would have to lose its last two games.

  • Minnesota (7-7) would have to beat the Packers next week and lose to the Bears in the finale.

  • New Orleans (6-8) would have to beat Tampa Bay and then lose to Atlanta.

  • Pay close attention to this one: Washington (7-5-1) would have to lose once and tie once in the final two games after losing to Carolina on Monday Night Football.
I love that the announcers were still making comments last night about "needing help" to make the playoffs. Slight understatement.

A few things:

1. Mike Tomlin has really thin skin

2. Guys.... Cam Newton looks terrible this year. Like awful. If that becomes a multi-year trend, the Panthers are screwed. IMO they need to turn him loose and let him create with his legs more. CN isn't a true pocket passer.

3. It's just as well the Bucs (my team) doesn't make the playoffs this year. We have too many needs. I'd rather jump up a couple more spots in the draft by missing out on the playoffs.

4. Patriots - Packers in the Super Bowl

1. Not sure what you referring to, but for the most part I like Tomlin and respect the way the Steelers don't sack coaches every year or two if they have a poor season and have to constantly start over like some teams (how's that strategy working for ya, Cleveland?)

2. Yeah, Cam's never been a great pocket passer but he's reverted back to some extremely poor habits this year with crappy footwork, etc. The Panthers have lost 5 games by 3 or less, IIRC; with better QB play they could easily have won 3 of those and be in playoff contention.

3. Bucs are trending upward for sure. With the Falcons looking better, the Panthers are gonna have to get their shit together because the NFC South is getting tougher.

4. I'd take that, even though I'd prefer Steelers v. Packers.

@TarHeelNation11, do you think your Bucs could make their helmet logos a little bigger? I'm having a hard time making them out. Seriously though, they look larger than I've ever noticed; are they always like that or did they change them?

I havent watched the Panthers in about 4-5 weeks (thank goodness), but all indications are that Cam has completely hit rock bottom.
Yep, I've only watched bits of the last 3-4 games, if at all. I figured if the Panthers don't care anymore about acting like they give a shit, then why should I.

And while this shit-show of a season is not all Cam's fault, he has sucked this year. He would be wise to spend the off season working on his fundamentals.

This one almost felt like they were trying to make sure they get the best DE or RB available in the draft. Cam could have had 5 interceptions today and Gano didn't show up at all. Almost like they tanked today

good to see romo look awesome today...the throw on 3rd & 11 is why he's who he is.

cowboys are rolling in healthy and with home field...should be fun

Forget fundamentals, he needs a psychiatrist. I'm convinced most of this is mental. While I think he needs to improve as a pocket passer, Cam straight up cannot handle losing and it affects his play. This "towel over the head, pouting after a loss" thing has got to stop. He's not a 22 year old rookie anymore.

I don't have DirecTV any longer, so I only get to watch them the two times they play Atlanta, and then whenever they're on national games, which is like once a year. So I don't know, to answer your question. Their new alarm clock style numbers are stupid, but I have always liked the color scheme. I know a lot of people think it's ugly, but hey at least pewter and red is unique. Not another generic red/white, blue/red color scheme.

Re: the Panthers, seriously when does the organization consider drafting another QB? I know you're just one season removed from the Super Bowl run, but really, as a franchise, do you want to tie your wagon to Cam Newton? And I say this as a dude who likes Cam Newton a lot. He has looked horrid this season. That, combined with him seemingly unable to mentally handle, is very concerning. Forget defense, Carolina needs to make this draft and offseason free agency all about helping Cam. Better OLine and a speedy WR is needed, IMO. And, they need to let Cam be Cam. Let him scramble. He is a very average NFL QB when he plays only from within the pocket.
