NFL 2016-2017

Speaking of the Patriots, as much as I loathe them, did you guys see they traded away Jamie Collins to the Browns? Didn't see that one coming.

Mind boggling to say the least. For a compensatory 3rd round pick - which is what we would have gotten if we had just played out the season with him and let him walk in the off-season. Smells like a locker room problem, or message to the team, or something along those lines. Because we certainly didn't get a decent return on the player.

Patriots didn't want to pay him. He apparently has slumped off a bit this year and they are cutting bait. Unless you're Tom Brady, you're not getting a max deal from the Pats.

Panthers season on the brink, and they're clinging to a 10-3 lead halfway through the 4th, vs. the Rams... UGH!

If they lose, they fall to 2-6, and NO team has ever made the playoffs (since 1990) after starting 2-6. Even at 3-5, only 8% of teams have made it to the playoffs from there.

It was an ugly win, but I'll take it. With that said, Cam's accuracy has taken a nose dive this year. I don't know if it's because the o-line is struggling and it's making him uncomfortable or it's all in his head or what, but he needs to get it going. He's not doing a terrible job, by any means, but if the Panthers are going to make a miraculous run at this thing, they're going to need an encore from Cam.

I'll take it. You could tell very early on that yards / points were gonna be hard to come by. Given Oher and Kalil were both out, be happy with the road win and get back home.

Cam seems to be reverting to his bad habit of throwing of his back foot and strong-arming his passes. If he can tighten up the accuracy, Benjamin and Funchess were showing some good stuff today. And of course Olsen is always reliable.

Still ain't out of it; I think Panthers are 1.5 games out of the 2nd wildcard with 8 games to go.

Agreed, especially with the part where Cam needs to step it up. If we're going to save our season, we can't play like we did today against the Rams, offensively anyway. We're going to have to bring the A game against the chiefs next week, and that's a pretty good team right there. Plus we have to face Oakland and Seattle, also two really hard games.

Richard Sherman is a piece of trash. Clearly tried to hurt Carpenter on that offsides kick block. Then of course the refs botch it in seattles favor (whether purposefully or not). Tough to say things like that change the outcome of the game, but they hit that FG at the end of the half, then they would have only been down a FG at the end of the game and could have kicked again to tie it when they were in the red zone at the end of the game.

I mean I always like to see the Bills (and Rex) lose, but they got hosed in this one.

That loss is on Newton. That pick six was an absolutely STUPID-ASS decision on his part, which completely turned the game. Seasons over for sure now.

i don't...i make him the #2 and then increase his reps...bring him in when dak struggles, b/c he will...start him vs skins thanksgiving.
I hope you're right! I'd much rather we play Dallas with Romo at the wheel.

My Dolphins keep winning but I still kind of keep losing interest as the officiating seems more and more shady every time I watch a game.

Between the UNC and Panthers losses, I'm to the point where I'm just gonna say to hell with football.

I'm about over sports completely. I know the Hornets are just building us up for a huge disappointment down the road. This has just become one of the shittiest years for sports in my lifetime, having teams come so close but fall flat in the end.

Fukk them for opening up big leads in back to back weeks and allowing back door covers both times. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, I guess.

Thomas Davis just tweeted:

"Luke wanted me to let you guys know that he's doing fine and thanks for your prayers!!…"

I hope that's a good sign. Last night, I honestly thought Luke might be headed toward retirement. Sadly, I feel the same way right now about Oher.

Yeah Luke was messed up last night emotionally. Had to make you wonder if he thought / knew this could be very serious. Either that or the concussion left him completely out of it. Looked bad for sure.

He's not even thinking about retirement right now he's only 24-25. But I am worried about what this will mean for his future playing days. The more concussions you get, the more likely you are to get another one. I don't want him becoming another Dan Morgan.

That's exactly what went through my mind last night, seeing him carted off the field... Dan Morgan.

The NFL is such a fugging money whore and I really can't stand it. There is zero reason to be playing a game in Mexico fugging City except that.............they hope they can sell some more jerseys in Mexico and make 5 extra dollars.

Nevermind that the Azteca is 7000 feet above sea level. Also, nevermind the fact that the NFL sent memos to both teams saying "DO NOT drink the water; DO NOT eat any food outside the hotel; DO NOT leave the hotel unsupervised" etc.

I'm glad the NFL's ratings are down this year. I hope its bubble bursts and then we can get back to normal football and can stop tinkering with the rules of a sport that's been played for 120+ years.

Just turned the game on for a few minutes. SHOCKING that the trash Mexican fans are shining laser pointers all over the field and messing with the players. Oh wait, it's not shocking. Watch any soccer game ever that Mexico plays at Azteca and you will see the most disgusting behavior imaginable.
