NFL 2018-19

100% agree on both points. I at least can conceive of Cowboys beating current state Rams in LA....zero chance Cowboys go INTO New Orleans and beat them again, with a week of rest for Brees and everyone else. Cowboys COULD have a chance to run against Rams, and the Rams offense seems to have tapered off some at end of year, with injuries, too.

No news here, but (I believe) Eagles (Philly) fans are the worst (meanest, most classless, vile, violent, degraded, ahole) fans in all of sports, and its not even close. That's just not me being a Cowboys fan. You hear all sorts of stories about stuff like fans dousing beer on opposing team's player's wives, throwing beer cans and rocks at fans walking to the stadium, etc. I think the Linc even added an in-stadium jail to incarcerate drunk and violent Philly fans after game day. Nice.

Actually - Pederson, Foles, Wentz, etc. I'm OK with. Its the fans who are off-the-chart horrible.

they built in this hate for dallas decades ago, and that’s fine...but to verbally and physically abuse opposing fans because of jersey color, to cheer when irvin damn near broke his neck, and throwing batteries at landry and jimmy, that’s just straight classless...there’s not a single eagle player i’ve ever respected, even disliked john bunting, lol.

by the way, i bet dallas fans almost match rams fans saturday night...there’s a reason training camp is in oxnard.

Yeah, that definitely crossed the line. Of course, this fan base also booed Santa Claus so I guess it's not a big surprise.

Remember after the Superbowl last year some Eagle fan actually literally ate horse poop, and collectively they defied greased poles to climb and destroy property.....

so, they're pleasant, nice, AND brilliant! ;)

Over the last five years, the road teams have won 50% (10/20) of the wildcard round games. With that in mind, I'll pick the Colts and Chargers to win on the road; Bears and Cowboys to win at home.
Dang, if not for that double-doink, I would’ve been perfect.

Next round... upset special: Colts over Chiefs.
I think the Pats, Saints win at home. For the Cowboys v Rams, sheesh... I could see Dallas winning but I’ll give a slight (very slight) nod to the Rams at home. I know they don’t really have much of a home field advantage crowd-wise but the extra week off helps them just enough.... maybe.

The only other coach I wanted was Eric Bieniemy. Word on the street is that Arians is going to bring in Todd Bowles to be the DC, which I would be all for because I think the guy is a top notch coordinator. The only issue with that might be that Bowles tends to run a 3-4 defense while Tampa has historically been a 4-3 defense. That being said, TB has some good linebackers on its squad and I think Vita Vea could be an exellect nose tackle. I'm just not sure where JPP would fit into that defense.

Kingsbury will interview with NFL teams with Arizona being the early favorite.

I'm guessing you answered this already, but do you think Jameis is the right guy?

Yeah. He hasn't gotten any help from his defense or running game to this point. Throwing the ball 45-50 times a game isn't optimal for any QB. They need to find a way to take some pressure off of him.

Jameis now has the best coach he's had so far in his career, so he needs to make the most of it. Focus on football, and eliminate all off-field distractions

Nicky “Ice” beat the golden boy in the super bowl so he’s certainly capable. But can they out score the saints? Tall order

There's only so many times an inferior player can win a game they shouldn't win before he turns into a pumpkin. That probably happens this weekend, finally.

I'm expecting that as well. But Foles seems to have confidence (not arrogance) that he is going to get it done when he needs to. Hopefully it will at least be a competitive game.

I'll never feel bad for Michael Scissorhands, but Landry was a stand-up guy.

I was thinking the same thing. And it's still an attractive job even after Brady retires.

Good ownership. It always starts at the top. That's why you see teams continually losing, like the Bucs. Culverhouse was a dud as an owner, then when old man Glazer bought the team he breathed some life into it. Now that he's stepped down, his kids are back to ruining the franchise. Hopefully, they can turn it around at some point.

Yep. I'm a Bulls fan, and they've been a complete disaster since the Jordan era because Reinsdorf is fine with keeping Paxon and Foreman in the front office.

It looks like they may finally be getting a good core together, but I'm sure something will happen to mess it all up.

People will like football no matter what. I just wonder what the future of the sport will be considering all of the player / safety concussion issues. If parents move their kids into other sports, there could be problems.

Well, if you're worried about concussions, that rules out soccer and hockey, so I'm guessing baseball and basketball would be the biggest beneficiaries.

It will be interesting to see if Kingsbury can succeed in the NFL. Yes, he helped Mahomes while at Texas Tech, but there is a big difference between developing a quarterback and managing the offense, defense and special teams of an NFL team. He left Texas Tech with a record below .500. Time will tell if he's the next McVay.

that was kinda my point up there...i’m sure he’ll get many veteran assistants looking for jobs to get their one last shot and a head coaching gig.

you can have an elite qb, but if you can’t rush the passer and make stops, you’ll have a short head coaching career.

asked a local high school coach if he’d rather have an elite qb or be able to make stops...has said, “i need both”
