@DaveChapelle seems to be taking the end of our season a bit hard.
Get real. That dude is the lifeblood of this board. He's been here way longer than you, provided a ton to the board and kept it alive in the slower times. You showed up recently and started acting like an insufferable know-it-all. If anyone gets sent packing, the smart money is on you for just being unlikable.
I'm not the guy insulting all our players and coaches for turning down the NIT, and trying to convince all our recruits to decommit.

Like I insinuated above, WWJD has earned his stripes here and if he wants to meltdown over the way the season ended, he's earned it. If it bothers you so terribly much, ignore his comments or go elsewhere. But calling for a ban of a guy with over a decade of history and good will here is not the right play.
What I gathered from social media is the casual fans are more accepting of not playing the NIT, while moreso the hard-core fans find it not acceptable. I don't see a problem with his response. This is a slap in the face of how many years we were taught there was a Carolina Way and a dignified way to be as a program.

Not everyone fans the way you fan! This is also evidence of how you approach life I'm sure, if someone doesn't agree with you, you shout them down or look for someone to shut them down for you.
This is what a message board is, you post messages and then you discuss everyone's thoughts. Why is this an issue for you?
I promise you this message board has zero effect on anything that happens in the real world of college basketball or a specific program.
You talk about the Carolina Way, and then say you don't see a problem with a guy calling all the players and coaches "pu**ies" and telling all the recruits to decommit?
So you tell them we don't give a **** about what you want. Awesome leadership.
And yet the owners of Carolina messageboards repeatedly say "players and their families read these boards." We've seen players like Tyler Zeller openly talk about how he used to read and post on InsideCarolina when he was a recruit. Leaky Black talked about having to deactivate social media and see a shrink.
We still talk about what PackPride did after Eve Carson's death and that was 15 years ago. So don't brush ignorant behavior aside with "their just being fans and it doesn't matter" nonsense.
Everyone in the world has the option to not read these boards if they would like. This isn't required reading!
Its a response to what he feels is a betrayal of that storied program. He feels if they tore down our shining example of how to be that these players have disrespected the program in ways not acceptable. Obviously he is using hyperbole in his point and take, but it's jarring.

We watched players having hissy fits on the court over not getting foul calls during on going plays. We watched coaches tossing their hands up in the air and shaking their head after the 8th pull up 34 footer. We watched a low key disaster before our eyes, while the coach said he felt everything was going good but the shots weren't dropping atm. Who took zero accountability. Denied reality during press conferences. Refused to answer anything when people were getting worried about what was right in front of our eyes all year.
Someone has suggested he swallowed this all because of recruiting battles. I don't blame WWJD for questioning if the outcome and sell out of our values in the end also doesn't affect those recruits. They can still flip. I am not saying they will. And to Hubert, maybe it's his hold on his job as well. However, I don't think recruits are going to be solid in their choice if disfunction continues here.
And every UNC fan has a choice to behave like a decent human being or a disgusting pile of crap.
I don't want to ever hear someone talk about the Carolina Way or Dean Smith with reverence, if they are going to hypocritically support calling the entire team "pu**ies" and try to run off all the recruits.

He doesn't get a free pass. He doesn't have a valid excuse. What he typed would get him banned anywhere else except Pack Pride.
You are not a player, you were not taught anything about a Carolina way. The decision was made from a basketball perspective. Why do you delusional fans continue to entertain this idea at this team or somehow get better. Sometimes it’s just a bad season, team, chemistry, etc. And when that happens, we all need to learn how to leave well enough alone.
But, hypothetically let’s say we play in the NIT. And we lose in the second round, now the conversation of how poorly this team plays continues.

Dean never quit or allowed the players to quit. Hubert did, and I have proof they did and that proof is they voted and are not going to play in the NIT.
This is a paradox for Hubert that can't be denied, if they voted the ones that said no should be kicked off the team and if they didn't have enough to play after he kicked guys off the team then either way it's on him!
When you create a message board forum, then you get to pick who gets banned. Until then, stop this temper tantrum regarding banning a member who has been here for a helluva lot longer than you.

Nothing about this team says that could consistently compete. Who in their right mind would put this team on a court to witness more horrible shot selection, turnovers, lack of assists, terrible play calling and unwillingness to play. Sometime your have to know when it’s not your day, your season, your time.

I dont think those games will take place if UNC isnt there to play them.
We knew all of that about half way through the season. Guess they should have packed it up then instead of wasting everyone's time.
So the first game they lose next year should they vote not to play the rest of the season to keep down the conversation that they played poorly? This was a missed opportunity, some of those players could learn and improve from that playing time.
Also you dont have to have played at UNC to understand 'The Carolina Way', someone wrote a book about it (I think it was the guy who invented the thing), you should read it sometime.

Regarding the Carolina Way, this book was written in 2004. I’m not saying that negates everything in it however, I am saying they are pages that likely no longer apply. We can talk about tradition as much as we want to, but we cannot ignore the fact that college basketball is changing. No one here has provided a legitimate reason for playing. A team is very much like a car, if the motor is broken, it makes no sense to keep driving it.
