What happened to BillyL?
I knew Trumps election would quite possibly prompt a meltdown from him. So was that it. I’ve been gone awhile and just started reading the site again just recently. Right off I noticed he was missing. I actually met him years ago, and he was quite charming to be honest. Don’t know exactly where we went off the rails, but it went bad quick. Anyway that’s the subject and I will not be drawn into a pi**ing contest, so.....

He was pretty much off the rails when I got here, which was well after Trump was elected. I'm guessing that's it, but there are people who have been here longer who know better than I.

From the little I can discern he went too far on something or someone. I expect GSD or maybe Archer will know. Between him and I we were both very BAD at one time.

It was mostly about how he was posting, mostly about how he was handling the political stuff. Multiple threads started in a short period of time and turning every non political thread into a political one. There were some things going on behind the scenes as well though.

I figured he was having marital troubles based on some of his poasts, but that is pure speculation on my part
 
People have gotten to a point where they take the message board comments too personal. I dont personally know but just a few people away from the board and that was just meeting them at tailgating for UNC football. I dont dislike people based on their political beliefs...there are other issues about people I'm more concerned with. People have alot more to offer than just political beliefs. If I met yall, my conversation would be centered around our love of UNC athletics, music and making fun of stupid people...like dookies and Duh Wusspack.

For years He was a big part of why i enjoyed the board. Then he became a big part of why i didnt click on it for several months. Pretty sure he was banned for refusing to comply with some guidelines established after a previous bruha just about got the board shut down.

If you agree with every thing he posted he was. And stay completely away from anything "union" as that would trigger an avalanche of curse words and put downs. I met him and like I said he was very nice, however he had a dark side that was really really dark......I would know I have one myself, but I have learned to keep it in check now. Some people grow and others, well, get banned.

I think Billy left voluntarily, but it did come on the Heels of getting banned multiple times, IIRC.

He seemed like an ok guy to me. I usually avoid the political threads, because my opinions aren’t going to change anybody’s mind, as most people are pretty firm on where they stand. But the political threads pushed him to extremes for sure.

I think he was saying he would do that if @uncboy10 got a permanent ban. I just know what was going on with him that we could see on the board wasn't all that was happening.

Agreed. And oddly enough, he generally started the political threads or invaded and turned non-political threads into political ones. One might even say he drove himself to those extremes.

I’m pretty sure billy left voluntarily. And frankly he had some pretty good reasons for doing so. I don’t blame him at all. The right wing posters have maintained a long standing double standard on this board. The same people who whined about being insulted are the same people who throw around insults to this day. Personally, I tried to change my posting style, but it’s clear that a few people have not. Making multiple accounts to troll billy, and even tracking down people’s personal social media accounts paints a pretty clear picture. That kind of stuff is pathetic behavior that only comes from childish people. The same poster loves to dish it out but literally started talking about fighting people when it got dished back at them. Kinda sounds like mental illness to me.

I wish billy were still around. He’s a good dude, and always had my back. He did occasionally post political stuff in non-political threads which I think was his only mistake. If you didn’t like his threads then you never had to click on them, and his detractors could always have just put him on ignore. But instead they decided to team up and try to run him and myself off the board. Sad stuff.

You are kidding, right? I don't seem to remember this benevolent BillyL you are referencing. I was right in the middle of it in the beginning. I decided to leave after some bad behavior on BOTH our parts. I was never banned nor was I ever sent to time out for a week or so. I just got to the point that I knew it just wasnt worth my time and mental effort to continue. And BillyL was very good at getting his amigos to gang up on others he disagreed with. I havent seen many of the guys who were here when I left. GSD I see is here along with a few others. Some of whom I would get into disagreements with, and others with whom I saw eye to eye with. None of the guys I had words with here rose to the level of what went on with BillyL.
For those who in the distant past I made uncomfortable I apologize. I was wrong. Or I certainly didn't use a better way to engage with you on a particular issue that was being discussed. I also have noticed NukEm is missing also.
I myself have no plans on being as obnoxious or engaged here as I was in the past either. I will drop by from time to time to talk a bit. As far as living on here like I did at one time. Not a chance in hades thats gonna happen.
Anyhow the BillyL I met wasnt the same BillyL 3 months later. If I had stayed around I too would have dug my own grave with the mods. Thankfully I had the good idea to leave on my own accord.

I never said anything about him being benevolent. And I considered myself one of his “amigos” and he never did anything to get anyone to gang up on people that I am aware of.

Actually, I think @Louigi threatned to cancel his premium membership of Boy wasn’t bant, but I may be wrong. As for the rest of us, the fact that y’all think we would do this is why you idiots can’t understand what is really going on.
