The balloons were really indicative of how committed they were about that PC.
I wasn't paying attention to them. What was the issue? They didn't exactly have a lot of time to prepare.
I was really impressed with Mack's press conference today. I realize that most new coaches tend to say all the right things in these situations, but Mack's comments felt genuine to me. I think he really cares about this program and wants to bring it back to a level of success.
Thats a legit concern. I would counter it with this. Say we did hire satterfield and he immediately makes progress, wont the neg recruiters tell recruits the same thing? That he’ll be hired away and wont be here that long?
There's always going to be negative recruiting no matter who the coach is at any school.
Its apparent why he was such a great recruiter. He owns the room. So unlike fedora who always seemed combative.
After watching that PC, I'm fully on-board. Frankly, I'm not that concerned about wins and losses with his attitude about the concern being on the impact he's having on the kids. And, "the process" is what's important. He doesn't have to come to UNC and win the national championship... that pressure isn't here. If he went back to Texas, it would be. I'm personally fine with 8-4 seasons, I really am. I like beating the in-state rivals and going to bowls. The frantic pace to win the national championship is fine, but I don't need it, personally. UNC fans enjoy perennial national championship contention in basketball. It evens-it-out. If he can get UNC to a get to a few ACC Championships, I'd be completely thrilled.
I just liked his overall message. He has nothing to prove, but he wants to prove something.
Oh, and I should add.. he really likes being in Chapel Hill... he WANTS TO BE THERE! That is really cool.
His line about finally being able to move into his new office was pretty funny.
I also laughed when he was discussing the communication skills of his daughters and sons.

For 2019, the Heels are up to 33rd nationally, and 5th in the ACC in the recruiting rankings. Before Mack came back, Heels were in the 70-80 range, and next to last in the conference. Pretty remarkable improvement in a short period of time.

2020 is off to a great start as well. Four guys. Two are four Stars and three of them are NC guys.

Stolen from the chokies and will start from day one. Rumor has it one of the many players transferring out of that dumpster fire contacted asante and convinced him to look elsewhere. Chokes are livid. Helluva job by mack getting us to a 30’s recruiting ranking.
This guy will be a player we remember for a long time. Has only played fb for a couple years. Freak athlete. Came from africa to play basketball i think i read. Reminds me of peppers. I think he reminds mack of peppers as well. Bet he uses him like peppers. Hes gonna wreak some fuking havoc in that defense.
I know that FSU was eying him pretty hard, but never ended up sending him a LOI for some reason. Seems like a pretty solid prospect.
What's the problem at VT? I thought they were on a rising trajectory? I realize this past season was disappointing.
