good…he should energize the program and nil.

do you think romo has gotten worse?

speaking of buffalo…wow.
Funny u should say that. He sounded strange like he was maybe sick or something and didn’t have the usual energy. I sensed some favoritism for the bills as well although that didn’t bother me as I despise the lions.

crazy, huh…just goes to show there really is no “salary cap” in the nfl.
Disagree. They still have to carry that dead space against the cap which is part of the reason some teams are perennially successful versus other teams that are always in cap jail. Denver is "lucky" their qb is on a rookie contract.

it’s fungible…teams avoid “cap hell” many different ways…one popular way is to add voided years on the back end so they lengthen the time of the deal knowing full well that the player will either be released or retired…dead money is a thing, but orgs act like it’s a prison that prevents you from adding players via free agency or trade.

look at what the rams are doing…”fuk them picks” went all-in to get stafford a ring…they haven’t suffered at all.

and true, the best way to win a sb is with a qb on a rookie contract…that or have mahomes.

Agree that there are all kind of strategies to deal with it, soften the blow, or stretch it out. My only point was that it does have to be accounted for versus something like baseball where the Yanks or Dodgers just dip into their network/merchandise money and say F the luxury tax, we'll sign whoever we want. It's one of the actual good things about the NFL. Theoretically, the cowboys, cardinals, jets, and squealers are all the same in terms of the potential to put a product on the field.

still can’t believe that
the business side of sports is of no interest to me, except for the fact that what pro players are paid is beyond ridiculous. That alone takes away much of my interest in pro sport itself. Now that is starting to be the same with college sports. What a shame. I'm glad to be old enough to have been around when some sanity was still present and outside commercial interests weren't in control..

concerning? It's downright scary. It's like fighting sleep because you think you're going to have nightmares, and when you wake up the nightmare will still be there. It's insane to see something you've enjoyed and participated in for a good many years start to unravel and reform into something ugly in such a short time.

What they're talking about is hard to wrap your head around as becoming reality.

i hate it, i blame jerry for this among other things…it’s an 8-8 league, literally.

oh, how it warms the cockles to see cowgirl fans commiserate. And I'm not even sure what a cockle is, but that's OK because I don't know what commiserate means either. Will you excuse me? I'm just trying to find the thesaurus. Has anybody seen the thesaurus? Please, @strummingram, have you seen the thesaurus? I ain't seen the thesaurus. Where's that confounded thesaurus?

Wait, what thread is this?

Blaming Jerry is not an irresponsible thing to do with just about anything. Especially for a 'boys guy. But, the parity and ability to go from the bottom to the top from season to season is part of the league's appeal.

problem is it isn’t that easy and if your owner doesn't care, most don’t, it’s a hamster wheel.

as for parity, i read a stat last week or so iirc…something like more teams closer to 3 wins than ever this late in the season and more teams have clinched a playoff spot this early than ever.
