Great game for the diamond heels. Down 2-0 in the 9th. Score two to send it to extra innings then score three in the 11th to get the win. We take the series against FSU and go for the sweep Sunday.
That game was insane. Heels were without a hit for 8.2 innings before Michael Busch's game-tying single in the 9th. We had no business winning that game lol.
I was going to go to this but shit got in the way.
That Survive and Advance 30 for 30 is really well done. It would've been interesting if State hadn't fired Valvano and he stayed there as a lifer like Coach K and Dean Smith.

This type of game right here is why the NC State - Carolina rivalry will never be as strong as the Duke - Carolina rivalry.
In almost every non-profit sport, Carolina and Duke regularly meet while in the Top 10 or Top 20, whereas State doesn't even have teams in most of those sports. The most notable examples are men's lax and field hockey. UNC and Duke regularly meet in Top 10 clashes in those sports. Moo doesn't even field a team in either sport.

Our defense doesn't seem to be that good. Admittedly I don't watch a lot of LAX but they just seem slow to the spot.

Didn't I hear the announcer say Breschi doesn't put much emphasis on face offs? Or did I hear that wrong? I thought he said Breachi didn't care if they lost 20 face offs in a row as long as they don't allow fast breaks.

Normally our FO guy is much better than he has been tonight (about 60%). So it's easy to be nonchalant when you win 3 out of 5.

No one on this team seems to give a damn. I mean, I know they do but there is no take charge guy on the team.

Yes but have to run the table and win 1 in the ACCT. And considering we still play Notre Dame in South Bend and Syracuse at Kenan, it's not going to be easy at all.
We don't have anyone who can consistently create his own shot- last year Steve Pontrello could drive from behind goal and score if the D didn't slide or pass to Cloutier or Goldstock on the crease if the D did slide and help.
Also our man-up this year is abysmal- something like 20%.
We did lose talent to be sure, but I think some of this is a hangover too- we just don't seem to be doing the little things that win ball games like getting ground balls and not making unforced turnovers.

Given my knowledge of LAX, when I read this it sounded like the noise that Charlie Brown's teacher makes. That being said I watch some of the games when UNC comes on despite the fact that I have no clue what is going on. Why do I watch it? Luke Maye told me to.
Diamond Heels in a mid-week grinder with ECU. Tied at 2 in the bottom of the 11th. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. I really need to go to bed since I only got about 4 hours last night...too amped to sleep.
