OOTB's Political Thread . ..

I just saw the title was "Sex: A Book for Teens." I was asking... someone else... a question. And, apparently, that attracts the stalkers.
Sorry Oprah, how's the weight watchers going? If you stick to it this time maybe someone will actually consider having a child with you. In the meantime, thanks for not procreating and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Two things can be true:

Retirement funds made gains under the Obama admin.

AND

Obama was a race-baiting piece of shit and is greatly responsible for the f*cked up woke culture.
And the economy sucked badly under Obama. Just horrible. If he just let a more natural recovery happen instead of "the stimulus," the Great Recession wouldn't have lingered for so long.

Picking a bottom to measure gains is also disingenuous, and they know that.

But it's nice to see democrats at least admit they really don't give a crap about wages, lower income earners and such. It's just the investor class they are concerned about. It's guys like Trump that went to work fighting for the American worker.

The value of the average 401k nearly doubled from January 2009 - January 2013, the period of Obama’s first term.

So I’m guessing you voted for Obama in 2012 and were singing his praises on message boards? Or no? Does your idiotic reasoning only apply to certain politicians?
At least you democrats are finally admitting you don't give a crap about wages, lower income earners and the American worker.

But picking a bottom to measure gains is kind of disingenuous, right? Trump was much better economically, particularly in the overall health of the economy with median income making historic gains.

Obama made very dumb comments like we couldn't drill our way into energy independence, but we did. Best thing Obama did was he didn't actually try to completely shut down fracking and fossil fuel via executive orders and new regulation, or rather he moved slow enough that he couldn't stop the fracking revolution.

But he's doing so in his 3rd term.

thoughts and prayers - that'll do the trick!
Were you the one insisting Covid came from nature and not a lab on the Covid thread?

If so, why does the US senate even under the control of wacko dems now report it came from a lab?

" However, the hypothesis of a natural zoonotic origin no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt, or the presumption of accuracy.

There's never been any legit evidence it came from nature. It was an obvious lab creation to all who looked at it early on, even if they went out publicly and said otherwise.

Sure.

Either way, you seem to judge Presidents based on 401k performance so obviously you view Obama’s first term as one of the greatest in US History, right? Or no? Does your idiotic reasoning only apply to certain politicians?

Damn, you're stupid. I base my views on a president on many issues but how he helps MY life is most important to me. Sending money to Ukraine ain't helping MY life so I'm against it.

If biden had not fukced up the economy, I wouldn't have given 2 shits what he said or did otherwise. As selfish as it sounds, I'm only concerned about how it effects ME. Anyone that says theyre concerned more about other people they dont know than they are themselves and their family is either a liar or an idiot.

Polarization that would threaten to tear the country apart is something you don't have an issue with as it suits your aims? The ends justify the means. That's good to know.

Clearly you cannot resist it and I have no trouble in saying that you are just as inept at resisting buying into complete bullshit as anyone else in this country. The mere fact you give credence to someone like randman is disturbing as it is.

Then I will ask now. What bothers you about the far right? Aside from their stance on environmental issues.
you make it too easy. That's because your POV is flawed.

Polarization that would threaten to tear the country apart is something you don't have an issue with as it suits your aims? The ends justify the means. That's good to know.

A country going in the direction ours is going should be torn apart rather than dragging normalcy down the drain with it. You might want to think outside your pampered little environs to consider that countries being torn apart isn't some new phenom that only we are being threatened with. Countries have been torn apart far more than have remained stable. You might also want to consider that it's the direction your ilk is taking that's providing the pull that causes the tear. If you want to avoid a tear, just stop pulling.

Clearly you cannot resist it and I have no trouble in saying that you are just as inept at resisting buying into complete bullshit as anyone else in this country. The mere fact you give credence to someone like randman is disturbing as it is.

You just said a mouthful, and not to your benefit. I have clearly stated in this thread that I don't agree with everything @randman1 brings, and all you have to do is notice that I don't 'like' his posts in rubber stamp fashion. That doesn't mean I disagree, but it does mean I don't feel good enough to endorse all of what he posts. Some things I heartily do agree with and I'm not afraid to do so just because you might not like it. Isn't that the way it should work? Yet here you are chiding me because I don't reject everything he says. I can say with confidence that that is NOT how it should work but in fact tags you as the one buying the party line, hook, line, and sinker, as well as idiotically rejecting the baby with the bath water because like so many libs, you act out of hysteria and hate.. Bone ape tit.

Then I will ask now. What bothers you about the far right? Aside from their stance on environmental issues.

Funny, we were talking about the right, but now it's the FAR right. So I don't really know which way to address this but I'll take the opportunity to make a distinction. The right is NOT the party of religious extremism, but it is a party that fully endorses the right of any citizen to practice whatever law-abiding religion one chooses. The fact that I endorse your freedom to wear an Indian headdress every day doesn't mean I want to require everyone else to do the same. It's the FREEDOM that matters, and I can't deny yours and expect you to grant mine. So it's live and let live.

I am not religious myself but I fully endorse this freedom even when I don't care for many of the concepts involved. You don't bother me with your bullshit, I won't bother you with mine, for one thing; the other thing being that people practicing a code of not being evil, crazy assholes can't be all bad. On the other hand, there are those who would make us a theocracy or something close to one. They should be be distinguished from those who merely want .the golden rule, a Christian principle, to be the basis for our laws, as I and most reasonable people do. Those who want to take the literal word of the Bible and have us all dance to it are not people I care for. But contrary to what you constantly try to put forth, those people are not crawling out of the woodwork and taking over the government. I didn't include them previously simply because they weren't worth including, but you seemed to be fishing with your FAR right shift, so I'm obliging....because for the most part those few who are theocrats are rightists. They are a non-issue.

Some in the right allow their ties with business to get in the way of good judgement, but that isn't to be confused with those who simply understand that the freedom to do business unencumbered by foolish government burdens is one of the more heavily abused freedoms of our current structure.

Back to the right. As someone else was arguing the other day, some of us, maybe many of us are hung up on Victorian ideas. I have a really hard time with those who freak out at the thought of seeing a mother expose a breast to nurse a child...a breast that our entire mammalian lineage relies on for one primary purpose, which is to nourish babies. The naturalness of a nursing mother is one of the most warmly human activities there can be, yet we treat it like the most shameful if done in public. Why shouldn't it be done in public?

One reason is that so many, especially so many of those on the left, are hell-bent to go in the other direction and turn everything into a sex act. I've been in a number of homes and watched and conversed with nursing moms, sometimes in the presence of the husband, without feeling either shame or sexual arousal. It is CRAZY that the average person can't say the same.

Along the same lines, we are just as stupid to stult the natural curiosity of our children. Don't shut the door on the curiosity, just handle it with maturity.

All that being said about sex, there is a huge leap between allowing a nursing mother to nurse in appropriate public places (not inside unobliging retail stores, etc ), and the absolute lunacy of letting women go around in public with their tits and asses hanging out, or men masturbating openly, and exposing children too young to really understand to cutting off penises and becoming prostitutes. I can't say exactly where the line is drawn between too uptight propriety and outright permissive insanity.... and that sort of line must arbitrarily be drawn......but I sure as hell know when I'm on one side of that line or the other, and nothing else divides left from right so clearly.

So what about #42, 504. Looks like you have the time now.

We actually agree on this.

I guess where we differ is I don't think the President has any impact on my microeconomic financial well-being. You seem to think it does. I'm not retiring any time soon, my 401k will be just fine in 30 years, even if we elect Kanye West as our President for 8 of them.

Name one time you’ve criticized the right on anything.

You criticize polarization and yet you play right into it at the same time.
How can anyone take you seriously when all you do is attack the messenger and now have the gall to claim mere agreement with the facts I post disqualifies other posters.

Lay off the hormones, dude.

And man up enough to admit you were wrong to claim I was lying about gender dysphoria being a temporary phase for the vast majority of those suffering from it.

(CNN) - The man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband early Friday posted memes and conspiracy theories on Facebook about Covid vaccines, the 2020 election and the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, and an acquaintance told CNN that he seemed "out of touch with reality."

so basically @randman1
It was just an FBI plant, probably a BLM/Antifa member pretending to be ultra-MAGA. Check epoch/gateway/substack for the real explanation.

I didn't know she and her husband were both 82!!!

Why in the hell would you want to spend the last few good years of your life playing footsie with a dying government? And, her being there is just making things worse!

Nancy Pelosi playing footsie with anything is the type of mental image that can ruin somebody’s weekend, so thanks for that.

Lol at Biden claiming yesterday that gas was $5/gallon when he took office. Sad part is many will believe his lies.
Eh anybody dumb enough to believe that is probably too dumb to be able to buy and operate a car so they’re unlikely to care enough or be smart enough to figure out how to vote.

Power over others’ lives is the ultimate unbreakable addiction.

Basically every federal elected pol has enough money or could make more as consultant / grifter / lobbyist for several lifetimes.

. It’s not the money.

It’s being able to control and direct more and more of the little people / “schmucks” lives. Both parties in the bloated corrupt power drunk unaccountable establishment behemoth

I'm sure you're right. But, she wore-out her welcome back during the 2008 disaster.

But, the situation has gotten way, WAY out-of-hand. I dunno what to make of it. Violent attacks on them is absolutely NOT the way to go!

glad you’re back…buckle up for a cowboys run haha.
Thanks! If they stay healthy they should be top 3 or 4 in nfc anyway.

I love Parsons. I think he could be Dpoy and get mvp consideration. Looking forward to going to the cowboys Vikings game here in a few weeks.

The poor guy can barely remember his name. If he hadn’t tried to undo everything good Trump’s administration accomplished(booming economy, energy independence, USMCA, the stay in Mexico agreement, etc…) during his(Biden’s) first day in office, I would actually feel sorry for him. But I can’t because of all the damage he’s done to our country. He’s a doddering old fool.

I wouldn't feel sorry for him even then. He's been a poser politician his entire career, with his only goal being self-advancement. He sucks for having the balls to impose his incompetence on us for a very long time, not just as president.

Those who refuse to believe that he isn't using his position for more than just personal advancement are just plain stupid. If there was a bus with his name on it coming down the street, I wouldn't warn him.
