OOTB's Political Thread . ..

I wouldn't feel sorry for him even then. He’s been a poser politician his entire career, with his only goal being self-advancement. He sucks for having the balls to impose his incompetence on us for a very long time, not just as president.

Those who refuse to believe that he isn't using his position for more than just personal advancement are just plain stupid. If there was a bus with his name on it coming down the street, I wouldn't warn him.
Amen. If he were on fire, I wouldn’t piss on him. He epitomizes the career politician, enriching himself and his family at the expense of the American people.

(CNN) - The man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband early Friday posted memes and conspiracy theories on Facebook about Covid vaccines, the 2020 election and the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, and an acquaintance told CNN that he seemed "out of touch with reality."

so basically @randman1
Nah, he's part of a radical leftist drug-addled group, and a Castro Nudist, radical group of gay men that parade around in the nude with piercings on their privates.

He also may be insane as he talked of contacts with fairies, not a reference to gay men, but literally the mythological fairies.

This is what his neighbor had to say.

"
Neighbors described DePape as a homeless addict with a politics that was, until recently, left-wing, but of secondary importance to his psychotic and paranoid behavior.

“What I know about the family is that they’re very radical activists,” said one of DePape’s neighbors, a woman who only gave her first name, Trish.

“They seem very left. They are all about the Black Lives Matter movement. Gay pride. But they’re very detached from reality. They have called the cops on several of the neighbors, including us, claiming that we are plotting against them. It’s really weird to see that they are willing to be so aggressive toward somebody else who is also a lefty.”

Polarization that would threaten to tear the country apart is something you don't have an issue with as it suits your aims? The ends justify the means. That's good to know.
where have I criticized polarization? I have observed it and advised that it's a necessary outcome of a two-party system. I have never claimed that polarization is some bugaboo to be avoided, but rather have scoffed at those who clamor for compromise all the time. Why would you compromise with wrongheadedness? Maybe my bashing the two-party system as the cause of polarization has confused you.

The only thing I've criticized about polarization is the left for being so greatly the party of liberal idiocy that I have to overlook those things I find fault with the right for. Aside from the things that I favor the right for, the left practically shoves me the rest of the way in that direction. That's the basis for my going right and there's no 'playing into polarization' as if it's some sort of trap I can't resist. That's just idiotic, and it seems like it could be the product of the self-indoctrination or media-driven brainwashing you exhibit here.

I don't mind being in tune with Ronald Reagan.

No, he was all faggy and his crazy, imprisoned partner said that he held very progressive views. Doesn't look like @randman1 . But that description matches several here. Keep guessing and you'll eventually get there.

More than I can remember. "Woe-man is from the rib of a man"... Ancient Hebrews had a helluva imagination.
you insult The Lord by suggesting that He couldn't have easily manipulated some DNA taken from one of Adam's ribs, and made a woman and some mitochondrial DNA to pass on to her offspring her own characteristics. Child's play for the omnipotent.

Your afterlife is not one to be envied, to say the least.

He? I dunno why it's essential that your God has a dick. I know Catholicism leaves an indelible mark, for life.

My afterlife? It might be like my "before-life"... probably.

"some DNA taken from one of Adam's ribs, and made a woman and some mitochondrial DNA to pass on to her offspring her own characteristics." That sounds more like a reality. It actually abandons the fairy tale notion of an Old Man in the Sky cobbling-out the planet Earth. That "He made the..." sounds like a magician. It leads to groomer crap like this:

At least this version has "God" as the Sun with an eyeball.

Are people familiar with the literary usage of "metaphor"? Because reading the Bible and understanding Christian teachings requires one to understand this concept.

Oh I’m sure you conspiracy loving deluded fuk nuts will have a good time with this one.

The next time I see two "Christians" with the same understanding of metaphor and allegory, in regard to Scripture in Biblical text... it will be the first time.

It would be great if people did observe the Old and New Testaments with a healthy dose of metaphor and allegory and also understand the Bible through a Jewish/Hebrew lens. They are stories. They're not historical facts. Most evangelicals that I've ever encountered worship The Bible. They don't even realize that. Without that book, their masculine king/god doesn't even exist in the imagination. Celestial monarchies worked for millennia. They're not as necessary anymore.

are you saying the creation account is a metaphor?

Is that what you want me to be saying? If so, then sure.

Some of y'all act like we give a damn what happens to you after you die. I can't speak for @randman1 or @bluetoe, but I assure you, I do not.

Oh, for sure. They don't call me Mr. Progressive Views for nothing.

Strangely quiet here about midterms. Or maybe not considering how things have shifted. . . .
since Dobbs? Repubs had a really good chance at a red wave, but the Senate could easily stay blue. House leaning R, but not a given.

You are right, of course. Only one poll matters and time will tell. Of course, there are a ton of reasons for things, but it's gonna be interesting to see how it all turns out.

Hundreds of people running are proponents of the big lie. So yeah, very interesting. If the house goes red you're going to hear a million reasons to impeach Joe, everything from high gas prices to too many mexican food trucks.

And in the end, I would think that would be one of the dumbest things they could do.

I would not have expected you to put the description of "He" together with the requirement of having a dick.
Well, that's what you get for having preconceived notions and expectations based on your personal bias.

When Christians call God "He", they mean it. After all, "It says so in the Bible."

No one, and I mean no one complains about too many Mexican food trucks. Unless it's a white guy operating it.
