OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Good point. There are no bad words.

Using "fag lover" is the perfect term for a homophobic, bigoted person to describe, or convey, their homophobic, bigoted perspective, so anyone and everyone can know just how bigoted and homophobic they are.

I will take all of that as you intended - complimentary.

Thank you.

They're going to investigate Biden. They're on offense, now. American government is just a spectator sport. That's another reason why Trump is so successful in it. He knows how to market a brand. Look at the cottage industry for Trump swag merchants.
it's puzzling to me that so many see this attribute of his and condemn him for it. It's a really good thing, because that is what he was trying to do in his term....market America. We all benefit from that, and it doesn't make a damn bit of differece which foreign entity resents us the most. Resentment comes with being bested. Being bested comes from being competed against. And those who don't understand that our little predicament here on Earth is that we have to compete to do well, are the very anchors that we have to drag along to give them what they complain about.

Don’t be mad that the judge has already ruled in my favor. You did a poor job or stating your case. You can always appeal.
My name is gunslingerdick. Welcome to my 1950s time machine.

A competition of who can be the biggest asshole. Score one for the human race.

Puh-leeze. What does America have left to prove to the rest of the world? That we really know how to rub it in? Resentment in this case comes from Trump being a gloating douchebag.

No, technically speaking, same-sex marriage is every bit as applicable as marriage between a man and a woman. Unless you're one of those dinosaurs perpetually living in the 1950s.
'applicable'? What exactly is meant by applicable? I bet you're the one who can define 'applicable' for us, and when the time comes and depending on what you need for it to mean, you'll let us know.

Personally, I really don't give a shit who or what gets married or enters into a union or in some other way become committed partners, but sex and procreation have much to do with the fact that marriage has long been considered to be only between a man and a woman. A man forming an ordained union with a woman is still what is in fact normal, and that specific union has been known as a marriage for quite a long time. Society being knuckled into an acceptance of alternate forms of partnership being called marriages doesn't change that. They are just exceptions to the rule with some lib word-morphing applied in order to make the abnormal seem normal, as is always the case with the libs..

and here we have the problem. People like Heels Noir have no idea what makes the world turn, but they'll tell you they are the ones who understand and support the science. Life on our planet evolved over BILLIONS of years by competing. Competition is literally in our genes. We compete every day. It's in our genes because we survived competition and so that we can survive now and excell by doing so.

But we don't have to compete and we don't have to win. We don't have to stay ahead of the pack. Countries like Guatemala and Haiti and Somalia are more common than countries like us, so we have that kind of life that we can always fall back on if we stupidly believe that what Trump was doing was just showing off.

Oh so THATS the red wave. Squeaking out a razor thin majority in the house, failing to win the senate, and election deniers getting swept in governor races. Oh but your city council……. Meanwhile the repub party
Is in disarray and doing lots of finger pointing over what all of them agree is a horrible performance in the election. Yea the joke is funny as FUK. i can’t stop laughing. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I'll take it one step further. Why recognize ANYTHING.

Today marriage status impacts:
taxes
medical benefits
social security
property ownership stuff (child custody)

Taxation should have no relationship at all to whether someone is in a marriage/union.
Same for social security benes.
Healthcare should be universal and untied to marriage/union.

With divorce rates of 50% the property ownership stuff seems to get figured out.

The government doesn't need to know whether i'm married or not in order to provide me the services that I'm taxed for. Parent-child relationships need to be defined somehow for child-specific gov services, but even those don't need a label of whether or not in happened in a church, courthouse, or vegas alley.
Government policy has always been to encourage marriage due to the benefits it afforded society (we can debate whether or not those claims still exist in today's world and culture). Thus, tax breaks and other advantages came into play. There is also the issue of property disposition upon breakup or death that is a problem to deal with if there was no "marriage".

if we were losing with Trump, he wouldn't have been resented even if he had dropped his pants and mooned all the heads of State of Europe. It's sad that you and so many others think it's about personalities and dumb shit like that among world leaders when it's really a matter of the well-being and status of entire countries with their many millions of people. I'm pretty asure the president of France doesn't spend much time reflecting on Donald Trump's tendency to gloat. But you do.

The actual resentment that you're referring to is mostly yours. And even THAT is sad. I resent Biden because he's fvcking up the country and us all. You resent Trump because you think he likes to gloat, and because of that you refuse to acknowledge that he was doing a good job as president.

'applicable'? What exactly is meant by applicable?
Seriously?

applicable
adjective
Something that is applicable to a particular situation is relevant to it or can be applied to it.
Technically speaking, same-sex marriage is every bit as applicable as marriage between a man and a woman.

Society being knuckled into an acceptance of alternate forms of partnership being called marriages doesn't change that. They are just exceptions to the rule with some lib word-morphing applied in order to make the abnormal seem normal, as is always the case with the libs..
God, you're as old-fashioned as the poopslinger. When 21st century public perception changes regarding ideas, words, or expressions, only the dinosaurs of denial refuse to accept it. Congratulations, Dino.

But we don't have to compete and we don't have to win. We don't have to stay ahead of the pack. Countries like Guatemala and Haiti and Somalia are more common than countries like us, so we have that kind of life that we can always fall back on if we stupidly believe that what Trump was doing was just showing off.
Yeah, thank God for Donald Trump, lest we would be haggling over the selling price of bananas and mangoes with Guatemala and Haiti and Somalia and all the other developing countries in the world. The horror! The horror!

What a hyperbolical and melodramatic sissy britches you've turned out to be.

Really? Well... that's peculiar because everything else that you shared, all 9,655 volumes of it, says the exact opposite. Even the majority of the post that I extracted this nugget from is proof that you really, REALLY do care... a whole lot!

It's glaringly obvious you've never been head of the pack or a team leader at anything in your life. I would guess when it comes to winning and losing in life, you have a sub .500 record and it's not even close.

If someone were to offer Trump or any American President advice about winning and losing with grace, they could easily use the old sports adage act like you've done it before.

I'm not going to answer with what has been pointed out almost incessantly for years now. And before you post that that's the reply you expected, I assure you there are at least a dozen here who know exactly what I mean.

Politicians are fickle. I don't always trust or like what Democrats do. I almost never like what far right Republicans do. It's always a show game with those people.

Honest to God, you really think they're going to investigate Biden and find something impeachable? Get real.

Trump has done far more damage than anyone else could. Republican or Democrat. I think he might be on par with James Buchanan as one of the worst Presidents in history.

Has nothing to do with personalities, the man is not a fit human being and the last place he needs to be is leading a country..

are you serious? Just the stuff we see every day is reason to get his lame ass out of there. He isn't stupid though. Choosing gigglepuss for VP was like armoring himself against any and all attempts by the right to remove him.

And Woodrow Wilson. Wilson was THE worst!

Trump made people feel good about their prejudices, but, mostly, allowed them to push-back against establishment politicians and a lot of the social agendas of liberal America. If you watch that Chappelle monologue on SNL, he nails it. His appeal in 2015/16 was slightly different than it is now. I think he's lost a substantial number of people who voted for him in 2016.

No. I'm not talking about gaffes or policies you don't agree with. I'm asking if there's clear evidence he's done anything illegal?

The obvious answer is no, but I'm sure you'll find a way to twist this around and say he has. And by the way, a tepid response to illegal immigration doesn't count.

lol, you're just totally mindless and as usual, you make unsubstantiated claims because otherwise you'd have nothing to argue about. Nothing I have ever posted contradicts my currently posted opinion that the government should have no say in who or what marries who, or that I personally don't give a shit who or what gets married.

this is just the latest in an endless litany of diatribes of you not caring, but actually caring. More of that "normal" shit. I don't blame you as much as I blame the catechism. You probably had pre-Vatican II-level shit to deal with as well.

impeachment

"While judicial precedents inform the effective substantive meaning of various provisions of the Constitution, impeachment is at bottom a unique political process largely unchecked by the judiciary. While the meaning of treason and bribery is relatively clear, the scope of high crimes and misdemeanors lacks a formal definition and has been fleshed out over time, in a manner perhaps analogous to the common law, through the practice of impeachments in the United States Congress.7 The type of behavior that qualifies as impeachable conduct, and the circumstances in which impeachment is an appropriate remedy for such actions, are thus determined by, among other things, competing political interests, changing institutional relationships among the three branches of government, and legislators’ interaction with and accountability to the public.8 The weight of historical practice, rather than judicial precedent, is thus central to understanding the nature of impeachment in the United States."

I assume you understand what this portends. There is precedent for impeaching a president just for thinly-disguised political reasons.

And you want to eliminate the illegal immigrant thing as grounds. I wonder why.

I definitely think they will try to impeach him... absolutely. It's their turn to stick-it to the "other side."
Yeah, all they needed was a majority. They'll make sure to impeach him at least once. Which, of course, is the lesson they should have learned from the midterms. That the American people want the republicans to act like five year olds instead of adults. At some point you would think that the answer to the question about following Johnny off the bridge is no, not yes.

please try to not be so blatantly stupid. My response was to someone questioning the definition of 'marriage', and it has nothing to do with how I feel about marriage, as anyone with even a smidge of reading comprhension who reads my entire post can tell. As usual, you assign whatever conjured-up silliness you need to to an opposing argument because you have nothing to argue against without doing so.

Communion with you is distasteful because of your wining, and I must confess I'm having nun of it. LMAO.

Because you keep harping on it like it's some formal invasion from another country lol.

Fine, you can impeach someone for purely political reasons instead of actual ones. Why, again does that make it a good idea simply because you don't like someone's politics?

still not caring? lol

I'll be sure and sstay tuned for the next chapter of you not caring, and then explaining how it's "wrong" or "not normal" or tearing-away at the fabric of society, and definitely "lib" something or other... some other bullshit.
