OOTB's Political Thread . ..

You can't be serious. Trump has yet to disappoint us with his predictable pratfalls and comedic buffoonery. And as with any display of such absurd behavior, its captivated audience members are just as hysterical, if not more so. And that means you, poopondook.

See how easy it is to post meaningless, insubstantial tripe as you did above? Why don't you work on establishing some actual significance in your life and in your posting here instead of dwelling in your fifth-grade level of pretension to the same.

"heels nor"? Nor? Is that your idea of incoherent name calling, or just another grammatical mistake by the board's uneducated boob?

LOL, she says Fox, but looks like she pulled some lines straight from this thread.

And.... Would.
you serious, Clark? She reminds me of this disgusting cow selling that disgusting female body deodorant...

in the 'just when you think it can't get any more ridiculous' category, I just read that Colin Kaepernick has labeled his white adoptive parents as racist. So racist that they adopted him and brought him up and made it possible for him to become a millionaire in this country where black people reputedly just can't catch a break?

Yep.

How much longer is Clarence Thomas going to have his seat?
The average lifespan of an African American male in the US, is a little over 77 years old. He's 74, so that would mean if he... oh wait, you were actually thinking he would resign or get impeached. I wouldn't be holding my breath on that one.

Why would he not have his seat? Is he in ill health or something else legitimate?

You guys got your panties all wadded up in your cracks over an article that failed to disclose that he has violated absolutely no code of ethics that applies to scotus and he only engaged in behavior that has also been regularly engaged in by liberal justices over the years.

The difference is he's black and holds fundamental positions opposite of the progressive agenda - so, he is the absolute worst from that perspective. The first assault was on his wife and that failed. The tactic now is that must be attacked and eliminated at all costs regardless of reality of what he has or hasn't done. We've seen this technique somewhere before . . . . .

Maybe a local DA will indict him next.

I don’t give a flying fuk whether it’s a cons or lib that does it or who did it first or if it was “legal” it’s absolutely unethical for a sitting scotus judge to engage in the sort of relationship Thomas has with this guy. Anyone with a quarter oz of objectivity can see that. Add this to the shit show concerning his wife and it’s obvious Thomas is tainted and has no business being on scotus. I’m not saying replace him with a lib either if such a thing were possible. Another con is fine. Preferably one with some character and honesty. It is absolutely mind blowing how low the bar is now for conduct of politicians and judges and how the sheep on both sides are so willing to ignore blatant dishonesty and immorality and oh yea…..the constitution.

t’s absolutely unethical for a sitting scotus judge to engage in the sort of relationship Thomas has with this guy.
But that's just it. It absolutely isn't. You don't get to make up ethical rules after the fact.

If they want to change the rules going forward, that's fine. It's kind of like the BS that Congress pulls on all the insider trading they do. I personally think it's insane and they should have rules against it such that about 90% of them are in jail. I think it's insane that they can retire so quickly and that they have different health plans from what they require for the rest of us. But, the rules have to be changed and then have someone violate them, not before they are in place.

And, I'm not saying that I disagree with you from a standpoint of what the ethical rules should be. But, it is just totally naïve to think that Thomas being the wrong kind of black isn't 1000% behind all of this.

I also take issue with this smear as the idea of separating one's views from their spouse is not at all uncommon with those in positions of authority. You expect to deprive Ms. Thomas of her rights to her own views and ability to engage on them due to the job of her husband??? She should be the good little subservient? Thomas got appointed to be a judge after the 1950's were long gone.

I don't really know what's going on besides the headlines, but has anyone shown that his opinions have been impacted by whatever he did? Seems like he's been a pretty solid conservative since he's been a judge. If there hasn't been an impact, then I don't care. Maybe there's more to it, though. Like I said, I've only read the headlines.

No. And that's the real problem they have and why they are attacking him, his opinions.
if AOC is barking about something, you can rest assured that this would be the case. And she is. Barking. Like the little liberal yap-dog that she is.

I'm surprised she hasn't conducted a photo-op of her crying over the impropriety of having wealthy and benevolent friends, and not reporting that just because there was no requirement to. She could pose looking into that guy's estate with tears streaming down her face over all the terrible things that didn't happen.

Liberalism is a shitshow, but it is making America a shitshow as well.

He's been conservative in the past, and he's still conservative, so it isn't a problem that he's hiding bribes because the briber is conservative too?

I am truly outraged at the imagined possibility that bribery took place.

And the sun came up in the East this morning.

What does that have to do with him NOT violating any rule?

well, there you go then, that does it for me. An independent opinion based on Constitutionality was given.

Get a rope, we can't have Constitutionality or its proponents shaping our lives...

The article loses any attempt at credibility when it says: "the investigative journalism organization ProPublica" as if they aren't a left leaner.

Here's the headline from the opinion piece in the WSJ about the hard hitting article (Let me repeat that: the WALL STREET JOURNAL):

The Smearing of Clarence Thomas

The left gins up another phony ethics assault to tarnish the Supreme Court.

my bad, fixed it
actually, no you haven't.

To begin with, look up the meaning of bribery; you still haven't demonstrated any quid pro quo, either requested or given. But more to the point, he didn't reveal his relationship with the man simply because doing so wasn't required. That isn't hiding. Hiding is attempting to conceal and there's no evidence that he tried to conceal anything. Of course I'm not indulging in that liberal mindset wherein not giving Jim Bob a dollar is stealing from him. And of course you are....because that serves your actual purpose which is just as @pooponduke outlined.

Now reporting those things is required and now he will report them. I'm still trying to see the problem and I can't because there isn't one.

I didn't know bribes were taking place. Like I said, I haven't really paid much attention to it. The people giving him bribes have to be pretty stupid. Why bribe someone who probably already agrees with you? Waste of money.

Has he released a statement? If not, I would love to see him play the race card. That would probably end up with some interesting responses and I'm always about the entertainment.

He did release a statement.

This is the quickest I found. Short read. Shocking coming from a conservative black person, no racial references.
