BBC bias

-0.8 The division between center and lean left is -1, so the rating is far left center. But it's within the center range, so that's how they consider it, Asb it says below, last year it was a left lean.

After BBC was rated Lean Left in the Aug/Sept. 2022 Blind Bias Survey, AllSides conducted an Editorial Review. The panel determined that the bias of BBC's online news remains Center, with some slight Lean Left bias indicators.

As you know, it’s not about left/right with Trump. Do they measure each media source’s “establishment bias”? That’s the measure we need to see.

Including the woman who is a Trump supporter who tactfully decided to leave her MAGA hat in her car during testimony (but still decided to rule against him)? True story. 🤣
There's no way he raped her, or even tried to do anything to her. He admitted that she was not his type! Granted, he got her and his ex-wife mixed up in a photo, but... so what. His ex-wife wasn't his type, either. That's all the proof you, or anyone, needs.

If the jurors were impartial, they never would have been selected as jurors.

It's worth noting that according to BBC guidelines, "the broadcaster is committed to due impartiality."

Of course that might not mean very much to doubters, but also consider the constant complaining they endure from the left who insists they are biased to the right and vice versa.?
Might not mean very much to doubters? LOL, get serious. According to me, you're my bitch. So you know that's true because I said so, right?. You aren't a doubter are you?

But I doubt there was enough evidence to show beyond a reasonable doubt that he did anything.
Remember, that's a criminal standard. This was a civil case that only requires a preponderance. Think about the scales of justice, whichever way they lean is the preponderance. 50.1% v. 49.9% and you have it. I question the decision for him to not testify in his defense. Most jurors want to hear the Defendant say they didn't do it.

Fine, they're more left than right, go compare BBC to Fox news and any other right-leaning site to see which is covering more fear/hatred/anger.

If you're going to use Fox news, why not do something comparable to it on the left? You're purposely trying to find something as moderate as possible to try to prove a point that you know isn't true. Just admit you were wrong instead of continuing to look like an ass.

Trump is a fuking dumbass. All he had to say was “I never met her and it didn’t happen”. That’s it. Just say that and please and thank you and it all goes away. In a “he said she said” situation Be the one more credible and likeable. Or at least not a despicable jack ass. The default position for most people including myself despite my dislike for trump was that this was woman going after a payday. But enter trumps ego and his refusal to evidently take any sort of advice from someone with common sense and he proceeds inexplicably to insult the appearance of the accuser, insult her lawyer, and as a cherry on top changing his story concerning when he said “grab them by the pussy” and no longer dismiss it as locker room talk but say it’s true cause he’s a star and that’s what stars can do if they want to. He basically went to central casting and portrayed himself as the cookie cutter rapist. A narcissist bent on asserting power. It is absolutely incredible how idiotic this man can be. A two hour deliberation? Bahahahaha!! That’s basically everyone sitting down. Choosing a foreman, then taking a vote that was obviously unanimous from the get go and probably milking it another hour to get a free supper. I’m sure maga and qanon will find a conspiracy to explain it all but there is noone to blame for this shit show but trump himself.

See original post where I listed Cnn. Of course nobody has the overwhelming draw of Fox.

I might be misremembering, but hasn't he maintained all along what he originally said, which happens to be true? I know when this first came out, I and others characterized it as locker room talk but I don't recall him doing so.

I honestly don't get why so many make it about personality instead of effectiveness as an executive. I don't care one wit how much of an asshole a president or other politician is as long as he is an effective leader doing work that I approve of. I hated Jesse Helms, e.g., when he was an editorialist for WRAL TV, and I didn't care much for th enutcutting style of campaign he conducted; but as a Senator I thought he was spectacular. I intensely dislike Joe Biden personally, but if he wasn't allowing millions and millions of illegals in and forgiving student loans and farking up a withdrawal from a war zone, etc, etc, I'd possibly approve of his presidency. But as it is, I absolutely HATE the bastard for what he's doing. For WHAT HE IS DOING, not what he is.

Fox news has been exactly like I and a great many others have been, reacting to and countering what the left is turning this country into. I hate it and they represent my concerns. That's why they are popular.

But on a grass roots level they aren't spreading hate. Those who espouse leftist ideology are. That's why Fox News is covering such fear/hatred/anger; it's out there to be covered, and someone or something needs to cover it. CNN and MSNBC and PBS sure as hell won't.

good point; but believing beyond a reasonable doubt that something happened isn't just a legal standard for conviction, it's standard consideration for those who judge in a right-minded manner. It's actually just common sense, and the legal standard follows. Whether that applies legally here or not doesn't matter to me, I am (hopefully) still a right-minded observer expressing my personal opinion that there was nothing in the evidence to make one believe b.a.r.d. that he was guilty of rape or sexual assault.

And while there was at least so-called evidence submitted for the assault portion, it's a different issue that the defamation award was based on nothing more than personal bias...IMO. If she was able to get paid on the basis of Trump debasing her reputation by denying her story altogether, she should be able to sue the jury for denying her claim that she was raped. If it's an unreasonable idea that the jury could be sued for defamation, it is also unreasonable to sue Trump for doing the same exact thing.

When that personality leads someone to be a bigoted liar, a criminal, and a sex offender
But that's just the problem for your delicate personality, none of those things have been shown or actually happened except in your mind due to the relentless false narratives to smear him personally. They may ultimately one day come to pass, but it's just been a game of constant russia, russia, russia that you've lapped up and believed because you've been told to believe it regardless of actual events. Go plant some petunias and leave politics out of your daily events - you'll be far less confused.

The problem for people like you - and I say "like you" to indicate people that feel Trump can't win a general election and would prefer a different GOP candidate - is that these fabricated attempts to bring Trump down are only strengthening his position. Everyone sees these for what they are - phony and made up. And so, his base and even those that were fence sitters, have had enough of the corrupt establishment trying to screw over figures they believe represent the American people best. The people are pissed and ready to rally around the guy that evil, corrupt, establishment politicians are trying to bring down. With every passing day of America in the shitter and every made up lie and attempt to hurt Trump, his base grows stronger.

The more prudent play for the Democrats would be to ignore Trump and watch him self destruct. But the more they try to hurt him, the more power he gains. If they're not careful, it might just springboard him back into office in 2024. Frankly, I could think of few things better than a second Trump term.

Of all of Trump's illicit shortcomings that I could have l mentioned, I listed four -- bigotry, lying, criminal activity, and now sexual misconduct -- in which American courts of law have found Trump guilty.

But, yeah, it's all in my head.

Republican Congressman George Santos (NY) charged with 13 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds; to be arraigned today. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in Federal Prison.
Man, there are so many different ways to MAGA and end up in jail.
Keep it up, DOJ!

I don’t approve of Biden’s term. I won’t be voting for him based on his mental state and policies and I don’t want Harris as president. I won’t be voting for trump not cause I despise him personally but I feel he’s unhinged to the point where he could do something monumentally stupid resulting in long term harm to the country. And I’ll say again the reason we have two worthless piles of shyt as candidates is cause a large portion of the electorate vote party ahead of country. So long as people vote straight party ticket it will only get worse.

But see, the issue is you said "bigoted liar, a criminal, and a sex offender". He's a politician, so it's almost redundant to say he's a liar. The bigoted part, other than smears and claims, he's been pretty open to almost all groups, so I honestly do not know to what you refer. And, as far as I am aware, he's never been convicted of a single crime, particularly a sex offense. You are simply wrong when you say "American courts of law have found Trump guilty." All it demonstrates is your utter lack of knowledge of the American court process, actual events, and/or your partisanship.

I recognize I am wasting keystrokes as you'll never change your mind, but contrary to what you've been told, saying something over and over again doesn't make it true.

so you will either not vote or vote third party? That's a wasted vote in either case. This is where the two party system screws us. There needs to be a tweak in the system that gives a third party a chance.

You could say I vote party but that isn't really quite true and I imagine it isn't true of many others you refer to. I vote for whoever serves my and the country's interests the best, and since those interests align more with the Republican candidate, that's how I'll vote. If a third party candidate had a chance, I might vote that way, but voting for Ross Perot taught me a lesson.

I'm not afraid of Trump. I agree about Harris and I pray nothing happens to Biden, as much as I despise his presidency...unless it happens right before the election. I hope someone is smart enough to make that an issue, because Biden could croak out at any time.

When that personality leads someone to be a bigoted liar, a criminal, and a sex offender, it matters. Maybe not to you but certainly for most Americans.
same ol' same ol', and you could just as easily say the same about Biden. Just the usual slimy character assassination based on mere innuendo, without one bit of evidence offered to back those claims up. The Trumps of the world don't disgust me nearly as much as you and your ilk do.

And saying most Americans believe and care about what you say only makes my point. I want someone who isn't turning the country into a clown show, regardless of his flaws. THAT is what people should care about but clowns like you don't.

  • 1973: The US Department of Justice — under the Nixon administration, out of all administrations — sued the Trump Management Corporation for violating the Fair Housing Act. Federal officials found evidence that Trump had refused to rent to Black tenants and lied to Black applicants about whether apartments were available, among other accusations. Trump said the federal government was trying to get him to rent to welfare recipients. In the aftermath, he signed an agreement in 1975 agreeing not to discriminate to renters of color without admitting to previous discrimination.
  • 1980s: Kip Brown, a former employee at Trump’s Castle, accused another one of Trump’s businesses of discrimination. “When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor,” Brown said. “It was the eighties, I was a teenager, but I remember it: They put us all in the back.”
  • 1989: In a controversial case that’s been characterized as a modern-day lynching, four Black teenagers and one Latino teenager — the “Central Park Five” — were accused of attacking and raping a jogger in New York City. Trump immediately took charge in the case, running an ad in local papers demanding, “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!” The teens’ convictions were later vacated after they spent seven to 13 years in prison, and the city paid $41 million in a settlement to the teens. But Trump in October 2016 said he still believes they’re guilty, despite the DNA evidence to the contrary.
  • 1991: A book by John O’Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, quoted Trump’s criticism of a Black accountant: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.” Trump later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.”
  • 1992: The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino had to pay a $200,000 fine because it transferred Black and women dealers off tables to accommodate a big-time gambler’s prejudices.
  • 1993: In congressional testimony, Trump said that some Native American reservations operating casinos shouldn’t be allowed because “they don’t look like Indians to me.”
  • 2000: In opposition to a casino proposed by the St. Regis Mohawk tribe, which he saw as a financial threat to his casinos in Atlantic City, Trump secretly ran a series of ads suggesting the tribe had a “record of criminal activity [that] is well documented.”
  • 2004: In season two of The Apprentice, Trump fired Kevin Allen, a Black contestant, for being overeducated. “You’re an unbelievably talented guy in terms of education, and you haven’t done anything,” Trump said on the show. “At some point you have to say, ‘That’s enough.’”
  • 2005: Trump publicly pitched what was essentially The Apprentice: White People vs. Black People. He said he “wasn’t particularly happy” with the most recent season of his show, so he was considering “an idea that is fairly controversial — creating a team of successful African Americans versus a team of successful whites. Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world.”
  • 2010: In 2010, there was a huge national controversy over the “Ground Zero Mosque” — a proposal to build a Muslim community center in Lower Manhattan, near the site of the 9/11 attacks. Trump opposed the project, calling it “insensitive,” and offered to buy out one of the investors in the project. On The Late Show With David Letterman, Trump argued, referring to Muslims, “Well, somebody’s blowing us up. Somebody’s blowing up buildings, and somebody’s doing lots of bad stuff.”
  • 2011: Trump played a big role in pushing false rumors that Obama — the country’s first Black president — was not born in the US. He claimed to send investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama’s birth certificate. Obama later released his birth certificate, calling Trump a “carnival barker.” The research has found a strong correlation between birtherism, as the conspiracy theory is called, and racism. But Trump has reportedly continued pushing this conspiracy theory in private.
  • 2011: While Trump suggested that Obama wasn’t born in the US, he also argued that maybe Obama wasn’t a good enough student to have gotten into Columbia or Harvard Law School, and demanded Obama release his university transcripts. Trump claimed, “I heard he was a terrible student. Terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?”

Did I mention he was impeached? Twice.
so? Any president can be impeached if you have enough party line slimeballs who are willing to act out of strictly political motivation. Biden could be impeached for willfully ignoring the law and allowing millions of illegals into the country, and that wouldn't just be political. Those Trump impeachments, on the other hand, were BS; and by the way, what happened with them?
