OOTB's Political Thread . ..

DC police "department’s head of intelligence" was cozy with the proud boys. We've all been wondering why FBI, DHS, Natty Guard, DC Police, Capitol Police weren't more prepared for the riot. Makes you wonder how many "insiders" were on the side of the proud boys.

yeah, this one individual who was indicted for what he did AFTER the fact of J6 because he was hoping to prevent a politically-instigated lynching is why the powers that be weren't prepared. This one individual somehow caused the PTB to ignore the warnings that they clearly received before J6. LOL are you trying to rid yourself of what little credibility you have left? It's working.

Yeah, I remember when he defended O..J. He swore up and down that he was innocent also.
in that case he was doing his job which is what a lawyer or a plumber or a brain surgeon is supposed to do. And for all you or I know, he might have actually believed it. In this case he was voicing an opinion, ostensibly free of any undue influence, job-related or otherwise. He gains credibility by owning up to voting for Hillary Clinton and calling her a friend, while stating that she was more appropriately a target for investigation than Trump was. That's also been my opinion from the start. Anyone who shares my opinion has to be right.

It was one of the biggest reasons from the jump the Dems used to delegitimize Trump and they used a fake story his entire Presidency to create the narrative, all the while knowing it was a lie. To dismiss it as trivial and a “nothingburger”, is straight from the liberal playbook and a move a total biased hack pulls.

“According to Nunes’ FISA memo, then-FBI Director James Comey signed the first three FISA applications on behalf of the FBI and then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed the fourth one.”

The DOJ falsified the last three of the four FISA applications, at least. They knew the Steele Dossier was BS well before the first one expired. Yet they knowingly signed three more, attesting that the application was 100% accurate, and had been vetted again each time. That should scare every American. The entire upper echelon of the DOJ was corrupt. A not just with the Meuller investigation, but concerning Hunter’s laptop too. Comey and McCabe should both be in jail.

There’s a lot I don’t know about him but initial impressions of Tim Scott are positive. I already like him more than any candidate running plus desantis.
I like hm also but I’m afraid his stance on gay marriage and abortion will hurt him in a general election.

I’d like Trump to back out and have a DeSantis/Scott ticket. But I don’t think Trump will drop out voluntarily. We have far better candidates but Republicans are constantly infighting and won’t work together. With Dems in Congress voting lockstep, they’re hard to beat. I’m soooo disappointed in most Republicans because I hold them to a higher standard than Dems.

marriage is a private matter. Government should have no say whatsoever in who marries what. That's none of government's business. The only reason for government to be involved is regarding any contractual element to whatever arrangement is made. If a politician wants to put government right in the middle of what is a private matter, defining marriage and then advocating making laws based on that definition, I can't support that.

I'm not sure how anti-abortion he is, and I don't understand how anyone can NOT be anti-abortion...but even I concede that there needs to be some reasonable leeway for terminating a pregnancy under certain circumstances, as long as the laws in general strongly discourage the tendency/ability to use abortion as birth control. and of course disallow the heinous execution of a full term or near full term baby. If a politician just says no abortion, no way no how...I would oppose that and him.

But at any rate, like @gunslingerdick says, it's heartening to have a black candidate who isn't pandering to the black voter block but is rather appealing to Americans as individuals.

Look at Roy Cooper. Flailing around like an angry toddler. Lol. North Carolina getting some shit done!

“North Carolina Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper sent his daughter, Natalie, to Saint Mary’s School, a private Episcopal prep school in Raleigh, where tuition can cost upwards of $62,000.”

”President Biden attended the Archmere Academy, a posh Roman Catholic prep school in Claymont, Delaware, and he sent both of his sons, Beau and Hunter Biden, to attend the same private school that currently charges $30,900 in tuition.”

“Vice President Kamala Harris has two stepchildren with husband Doug Emhoff, and both kids attended the Wildwood School in Los Angeles, a private school that currently costs $44,975 a year.”

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., attended the Institute of Notre Dame, a private all-girls Catholic high school in Baltimore, and she revealed in her 2008 memoir "Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters," that she sent Paul Jr., her only son of five children, to attend Episcopal High School, an elite Virginia boarding school that currently costs $64,900 a year in tuition.”

“Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., sent her son, Alexander Warren, to the Kirby Hall School, a private prep school in Austin, Texas, where the current tuition is $18,725, DeAngelis reported for Reason magazine in 2019. When pro-school choice advocates confronted Warren at the time about her son’s schooling, she quickly responded, "No, my children went to public schools." Her campaign later spun her answer by saying, "Her son went to public school until fifth grade."

Could this have anything to do with it?

”The two largest teachers’ unions in the country almost exclusively donate to Democratic campaigns. So far in 2022, 98.61% of campaign contributions from the National Education Association has gone to Democrats, while 99.95% of campaign contributions from the American Federation of Teachers has gone to Democrats, according to the Center for Responsive Politics' "Open Secrets" website.”

Hypocrites, one and all. I think that word best describes Dems.

Where did Trump and his kids go? The whole politicians going to private school thing is about having money, not politics.

of course it's about politics, the politics of the hypocritical left. The question isn't who goes to private school, because yes that would be money. The question is who goes to private school and then opposes measures to allow more private school for more people. That would be dems, the hypocrite party.

I seriously doubt affluent republicans want more low income people at their kids private school. They certainly won't tell you that, but you know it's true. That's one of the reasons they put them in private school.

At this point I would hold my nose on a few policies I disagree just to have someone be president I won’t worry will set the ocean on fire

OK. Then what are some reasons that they are the ones pushing the agenda?

So is Desantis purposely trying to screw himself or does he just have a horrible staff? Between the Disney stuff and his announcement yesterday, he's basically making sure Trump voters don't switch to him.

Dems loved this guy, a liberal who voted for Hillary. But let him point out abuse of power on the part of Dems and he’s a pariah. Same as with Musk. They loved him until he had the audacity to point out the liberal bias of platforms like Facebook, he immediately became the “enemy”.
That's what good lawyers do for their clients, dumbass.
It would be a bitch if you were pleading not guilty and your lawyer kept saying “My defendant says he’s not guilty but I have serious doubts.”

Yet they are the ones who are pushing for more access to school vouchers.

what was wrong with his announcement yesterday? (besides the technical issues) if he wins the nomination, the vast majority of Trumpers will get behind him and the POTUS election wont even be close.

The 2024 election will be Biden against Trump... again. I don't care how many people they roll out to compete against him, Trump will win the nomination easily.

He's not going to win the nomination. Trump is the GOP candidate until he decides he doesn't want it anymore.

It’s a big mistake to give trump ammo. If there’s one thing trump excels at its ridiculing people
and I have to add that in spite of what his twittering might lead you to believe, he seems unflappable. He has answers even to trap questions that are pretty much straightforward and honest and defeat the intent of the biased questioner. Haters gonna hate, and I don't care who at this point gains the nomination; but one way or the other there's a lot I'll always like about the Donald.

On the other hand, I won't like him much at all if he makes a third party bid.

The Democrats would love nothing more than for DJT to be the nominee for the third time in a row! It's hard to remember a GOP without Trump.

The DOJ continues to serve our nation.
the DOJ can't be considered as serving our country until they crack down just as hard on leftist mayhem and wrongdoing. Otherwise it's just political bullshit, and political bullshit isn't serving our country. I wonder what the DOJ will end up doing about the criminally instigated Trump investigation.

What's wrong with going on a platform that can't handle your announcement and has less than a million people listen? Do I really have to explain that? The Disney stuff is also pretty self explanatory. Plus, as @heelmanwilm has already mentioned, you don't want to give Trump ammunition.
