So here's my question. When did the video come out? Obviously that is pretty damning. They waited on the black guy to round the corner. If the law only had the 2 white guys testimonies, and no video, then the could have made it believable enough to walk free. If this video was given at the time of the killing, then they should have never walked free

I’m a little confused myself. Say, the police receive a call and they show up and find a man laying in the street dead. Two people are there with the gun they admit to using to shoot the man. They give you a story about what they say happened so the police say, we’ll go on home we’ll let you know if we need anything else.

I may not be recalling this accurately but from what I remember they claimed the guy was a burglar and had a gun and the local DA, who was friends with the shooter’s ex law dad or the shooter I don’t remember, didn’t press charges. Then after some blow back he recused himself. The next guy recused himself as well, then the video came out and the next guy is now pursuing it.

Hate crimes were frequent not too long ago and I’m willing to bet they happen now and again in 2020. 1960 wasn’t that long ago.

You can’t defend these two who committed this act. Racism or not it’s a bad look. No denying it.

I vehemently dislike people who try to exploit a situation like this to score racial political points. Michael Brown, Baltimore, and many others were like that. But this is not. It’s clear cut. Those two wingnuts shot and killed a guy for no damn reason other than profiling.

Does he get worse punishment for killing someone for racial purposes than he would had he killed him in cold blood. This not a commentary overall on race relations today in the US which no doubt those such as AOC will use this to try and say that it’s just as bad as sixty years ago. I do not believe that for a second. But I also believe these two guys should not be roaming around free even if it takes awhile to file charges.

But again, that isn't the point. The point is that the deed has been done. Only the most idiotic could ever believe that anything useful could be gained by labeling the crime a hate crime or by crying racism in knee jerk fashion. Aren't we all supposed to be equal and aren't we all supposed to be treated equally? Then gawddangit TREAT everyone equally and punish these turds for depriving someone of his very existence instead of for hating him. It is not against the law to hate, any more than it is to love. It's against the law to unjustifiably deprive one of what belongs to him, his life included. Given that it’s the state of Georgia and the history there, it’s not difficult to connect the dots as to why. Do you really think they’d try to pull a citizens arrest if the guy was white?

That being said, no matter what the motivation the two men deserve to be behind bars.
