Most other presidents weren't businessmen. Most of them were career politicians. Regardless, there is no law that requires them to release their taxes. I wouldn't release mine either.

It's the FBI's policy not to talk about ongoing cases. Congress knows that and that's why they won't ask them to.
Any stockholder has business holdings. That doesn't mean anything. Regardless, there is no law that forces someone to show their tax returns.
We haven’t needed a law because most presidents have the ethics to reveal them willingly. This is a pretty basic concept. Kinda hard to take anyone seriously if they aren’t concerned with basic conflicts of interest in the White House.
Actually, releasing a tax return hasn't been around long. The first to do it was Nixon.
The man has been audited constantly by the IRS. What do you think a bunch of know-nothing lawyers in Congress are going to find out that the IRS didn't? This is nothing more than an attempt to go after people who have done business with Trump.

Then why weren't the Dems pushing this narrative during "the most important off-year election of our lifetime?" What do you hope to find out? That he did business with Russian people? He's a multi-billionaire real estate mogul. In this day and age of global business, do you think that would actually be a big deal? Again, this has more to do with trying to find out who he does business with, so you people can persecute him.

Do you understand how a conflict of interest works? Or why previous presidents have been expected to put their business holdings into a blind trust? The presidency is not an opportunity for enriching oneself. Yet this president is selling access to himself at Mar a Lago and basically taking bribes from foreign agents through his real estate properties. And the guy is suspected of money laundering through those same properties... I’m sure his taxes and income statements would reveal quite a lot. Which is why he’s hiding them.
I don't watch network news, and yes, I do know how a conflict of interest works. That's why I'm asking you what the basis is for that claim?
He had holdings in business deals in several foreign countries and has clearly shown that they have an influence on how he is doing his job. He has retained control of his companies so that he can use the presidency to enrich himself. That's pretty much indisputable.
Of course, he had holdings in foreign countries. What is he doing to enrich himself? You don't need his tax returns in order to figure that out. What actions have even happened that makes you think this could be a conflict of interest? You can't just say, "He has had business dealing with other countries, so there is an obvious conflict of interest." There has to be some kind of red flag, like did he sell 20% of the US uranium to a company in another country, and then that country donated over $100 million to your slush fun...I mean charity.
