OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Given the demands of all the PC crowds, calls for radical changes, hate against anyone who supports trump, and who he surrounds himself with, and the dems controlling everything, where will a conservative voice be heard? Unity is a nice concept, but unity by division equals division.
Are we not allowed to judge biden before his 1st day is complete? Seems like people did with trump

i think it started a year or so prior...did you catch the debates in 2015?

You can judge him however and whenever you want. I was replying to @ticket2ride04 saying Biden was moderate.

I would argue Trump was unlike any President we've had or ever will have. There were troubling signs even on the campaign trail. It's not to say everything Trump did was unimaginably awful, but any good he may have accomplished is far overshadowed by the damage he wrought upon the country.

And I don't think you have to be worried about conservative voices. Still plenty of them out there in Congress and in media. They will be aiming to take at least one chamber of Congress by 22 or 24. Biden also isn't some radical/next coming of Pol Pot.

Lastly, the far right militias in this country are more dangerous to Constitutional order than any far left loonies in academia or the West Coast as was demonstrated two weeks ago.

Biden won’t be making any decisions. He’s brain dead and just a puppet for the radical left. But maybe his doctor wife can treat him enough to get him back to eating solid foods and knowing how to tie his shoes.

Give it time, Comrade.
I have a a buddy I've known 30 years. He's a Christian college professor, has 7 kids and he's pleading with me to acknowledge-- and be scared to death-- that we're now, since Trump had the election stolen, going to be destroyed under Communism. It's impossible to convey to him, or those like him, how this country/society and its entire economic circulatory system is totally immersed in corporate capitalism. Aside from token nods to Socialism through certain social policies and their actions, this country is totally detached from anything and everything resembling Communism! And, it's an absolute certainty that the wealthy/ruling class has absolutely no interest in allowing Communism to ever exist in this country.

You’re a fu*king moron if you believe that. Well, you’re a moron anyway. But you’re a fu*king moron if you actually believe the above garbage.

You're a f**king moron if you keep making excuses for Trump and the people he's whipped up into believing that an election was stolen and that they have to assault government buildings to get their way.

As I said before, you don't care about democracy and you never did.

I need a lecture from a gender confused child like I need a hole in the head.

And socialism will also always exist in this country as long as there is a wealthy/ruling class. See farms, Ford, GM, Boeing, Delta, all the banks and lenders.

Absolutely elements of socialism intertwined into our capitalistic economy. I’m not sure where Blazers was going, but we have a hybrid system
This. bailouts, subsidies, corporate welfare are basically socialism, and often helping the rich.

That's not socialism though, unless we're changing the definition of socialism.
For example, is there not social ownership of Boeing to some extent? Society (the workers) are giving them money via bailout, the profits theoretically could go toward society (the workers) by providing flight, airpower, jobs, etc. Full ownership in terms of control isn't there for the common/worker class, but the government and elites have a heavy hand. In some cases, (farms) there is more control. Seems as close to socialism as any capitalism. What would you call it?

Yeah... that's a socially acceptable summation! Much like Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, Patriotism and all other isms, I've never met two people who described them exactly the same way. They might include some of the same details-- like having the word "economic" in their language-- but, otherwise??

Eh, he’s saying there will always be elements of socialism in the country based on his examples. They’ve all received government help, financially. Most notably farms.

Subsidies are not socialism. Government ‘help’ being given to a privately owned business is not socialism.

Socialism is when the means and modes of production are collectively owned by the working proletariat instead of capital being privately owned. It’s about redefining the relationship between labor and capitol so that laborers own the product of their labor instead of selling that labor. It has nothing to do with the government giving out checks. There are socialists who are also anarchists. Government isn’t even a prerequisite of socialism.
