OOTB's Political Thread . ..

When I hear the name of this holiday I can't help but laugh.. just sounds ignorant.
I don't mind a Federal holiday to celebrate the end of slavery (but get rid of MLK day and Washington's birthday, and maybe another one or two). But for God's sake call it Emancipation Day or anything besides 'Juneteenth'. Reminds me of Hillary telling her black audience, 'we ain't no ways tired' as if she had just come out of the cotton field herself and was talking to other cotton pickers. So embarrassing to see that sort of condescension. Dumb bitch. White people are the worst when they patronize other races.

OMG, I can't stop laughing. This guy is the biggest toolbag we've ever had as POTUS. Check out 37 seconds in and compare to this gif...

I either believe Trump is looking out for Americans or I believe that Trump is only looking out for Trump but that what benefits him, benefits Americans in general. So either way you want to couch it is fine with me.
We can couch it as you being an out-of-touch moron if you believe Trump-think benefits Americans in general.

Upon further review.. I see it's actually the 19th and not the 10th. Even more dumb.

I ran across this in an article discussing the Dallas coach resigning and other jobs open in the NBA.

" Despite reporting that hiring a Black coach is a priority for the team, it would be hard to imagine Boston passing on an opportunity to interview with the renowned coach should Carlisle have interest in the position."

I was doing great.

Look, I’m not necessarily talking about transgender, biracial, gay, emotionally tender, illegal immigrants. You and the other 19 people that identify as such, I get that y’all didn’t really like Trump. He wasn’t big on kowtowing to your angry, attention seeking demands. But for us normal folks - patriotic, working class people with normal, productive lifestyles - we were doing great.

Some of these posts are like an episode from crank yankers.

None of us care if you're into gay porn but this isn't the audience you're looking for to discuss it. Maybe the Logo Channel has a message board where people of your ilk talk about that kind of thing.

It's hard to believe or understand this "gaffe".

First - I get it - Biden hasn't written, thought, or said anything in years that wasn't plagiarized by him, or created by his handlers.

But did he just read the prompter wrong? Did he mean to say "we (as individual citizens) don't yield our rights to the government" ? Because if he actually meant "we yield our rights to the government" - wow what a blatant unconstitutional, anti- Bill of Rights, anti-Declaration statement.

You'd think his writers would have a little more nuance, a little more couching of their wishes for supreme govt authority over citizens. But then, I have no reason to believe Biden has strong competent speech writers, well-educated and capable of delivering a left-leaning, pro-big-government message in a nuanced, subtle way.

To be fair, we have already yielded our rights to the government in many ways.

Good Lord. Joe spends one hour with Putin and Putin turns him into a commie, LOL. Say what you will, but I'd hire Putin in a an instant to take weak-ass Joe's place....as long as Congress and SCOTUS was in Republican/conservative control.

If you want to know how he got elected, just listen to what he says in the video....which is exactly nothing, as he has always said. But he says it like he by God really means it, and that's good enough for the masses who are just plain going to vote lefty anyway.

Obama was the same animal publicly. He talked loud and with such conviction but really not saying much of anything. But largely, democrat voters are superficial and dumb. You can fool them into thinking what you're saying is meaningful if you sound passionate. Because they're ruled by emotion and not by logic. Maybe not in all cases but I believe that to be mostly true.

Presidents never really say much. It's almost always PC friendly crap. What's most important is the delivery. Obama and Clinton were super smooth and "cool." People made fun of Bush #2's grammatical errors, but he had that southern charm type of speech that made him come off as "cool." If you have the delivery, then you can win the crowd.

I agree completely. 'Feelings' and emotion is what chiefly defines the lib/lefty. It isn't that conservatives don't have empathy for those in need of betterment, it's that we don't simple-mindedly react emotionally and expect everyone else to join in a useless flood of tears, and assuage our unfounded guilt by throwing gobs of someone else's money at the consequences of life itself. It bemuses to hear them call conservatives dumb for not following science when they can't even understand their own emotional nature or much of how the world actually works.

In other words, you're right. Let someone passionately display empathy (real or feigned) or an obsessive regard for the inequalities inherent to real life, and they are all in. It cracks me up to see someone like @blazers or @strummingram obsess with Donald Trump's healthy, naturally self-serving nature (which as you say serves us as well) without recognizing the droves of dem pols over the years who based long careers on nothing more than crocodile tears.

Reagan, also. Bush #1 not so much. Came off as the cold analytical CIA type that he was.

....and though Reagan was surely declining mentally in his second term, with onset of dementia, etc...
he was a folksy great story teller straight outta hollywood cowboy and gipper movies that appealed to a ton of dems and indies, even ones who didn't agree so much with him on policy. He always talked up America, US military, and the US citizens of all races, financial status, background.

Such a contrast compared to Joe. Complete opposite.

Other than the dementia. ;)

Biden is very good at surrounding himself with people to change his diaper. That’s the mark of a dementia riddled geriatric.
Trump was good at surrounding himself intentionally or accidentally with cons, grifters and people that he'll chew-up and leave unpaid.

Or as Biden would say.. "Happy... you know... the thing"
Happy Father's day to all the father's except for the losers and the fake media. Nobody loves father's more than me. I know more about being a father than anyone in history, more than the generals, they say.

I wonder what needs to happen before all sides are forced to acknowledge the elephant in the room? Much of the time Pres Biden is clearly mentally incoherent. It’s highly unlikely he would pass a mental cognition test.

I feel sorry for the guy. He’s been thrust into this job which is mentally and physically demanding even for the most capable person. I know he has handlers, but you can’t keep up the charade forever with tightly controlled press conferences etc.

He needs to be living the life of a retired granddad. Telling old stories and playing video games with his grandkids. Enjoying life without all the pressure of being president and having Jill help take care of him.

In my opinion it is part of the plan to let Biden show his mental state. When the top dems decide to make the change and put Kamala in as President there will be enough video of Biden talking crazy that people will accept the change. I can hear Pelosi now "well I think we can all see the decline in President Biden's health so this change is best for everyone involved"

That was the plan from the get-go. Looks like it’s right on schedule. I think the Dems figured they’d let Biden play President for about a year until they push him off on an ice floe.

You’d think they’d have just put Kamala in to begin with since they were planning to steal the election anyways.
