OOTB's Political Thread . ..

They wouldn’t be able to get away with it if we had a free, unbiased press and a DOJ that wasn’t rotten to the core. The MSM, with a few rare exceptions, is TASS all over again. It’s just a liberal propaganda machine.
correct again, my friend. I've given this some thought. If I found myself in charge somehow, I think the first thing I'd tackle is making freedom of speech something other than a license to sell lies for profit.

THEN, I'd kill all the lawyers.

“Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas has also commented on why the effort to advance the legislation was unsuccessful. He was quoted in a Wednesday CNN article as saying that Schumer would not allow amendment votes that Republicans were pushing for.

"There was an agreement between Senator Tester and [Senator Jerry] Moran for two amendment votes when this bill passed," Cornyn said. "Senator Schumer would not allow those votes to occur. And what we're hoping for is there will be a negotiation to eliminate some of the mandatory spending in the bill and then the bill can pass.“

Uh oh, we’re in a recession so let’s rally around the left and redefine the word. Just another example of the liberal media bias so prevalent today.

“Recession” redefined
lol, the lefties will redefine something in a heartbeat. I'm surprised they didn't just rename it like they usually do. Maybe say we're in a 'period of heightened fiscal awareness'.

once again, Jon Stewart goes apeshit in a video bite and his adorers start soiling themselves. And once again, there's more to it than meets the eye. They never learn. I have to admit though, Jon did wave his arms around wildly and make faces a lot. I can see how the susceptible might get taken in.

Congressional Baseball Game.. Republicans won 10-0

The comments on You Tube were quite comical... this is one of my favorites...

"After the game was over and the statistics were being tallied the Dems found 11 mail in homeruns and actually won the game."
LMAO.

But in all fairness to her, you never know what sort of comments might come out of the dugout to provoke such a reaction. Hell, it's baseball innit?.

The entire idea that you use polls as how to define your thoughts or justify them is the issue.
I don't even know what that nebulous pile of steaming crap comment is supposed to mean. You and poopslinger don't have to put any value in polls, especially when they come out with such poor numbers for your paper tiger hero, but the fact is these polls are not simply popularity contests. Instead they are created based on successes and failures.

Deny, deny, deny.

Yeah...the other senator from Texas repeats the lie that Lyin' Ted offered...case closed. What was that about killing the lawyers? Is that before or after we trust everything they have to say regarding their involvement in government roles?

Should be easy enough to fact check this. According to Stewart the bill had nothing added to it since the first vote when those republicans voted for it.

I can’t find anything suggesting that there was anything done besides correcting a procedural error. No evidence of budget shenanigans which is the excuse now being repeatedly trotted out by Republican loyalists.

I’ll probably read through the whole thing later tonight when I’ve got time. But this just sounds like it was backlash to the climate change legislation.

Thank you. I spent part of this morning making the same argument while bluesy and Archibald insisted there had to be something sinister about the whole thing (beyond those Republicans sticking it to our veterans). I've been waiting all day for an honest and/or intelligent response. It's 10:30pm and I'm still waiting.

l'll post the resolution again for anyone who wants to look over it and then discuss it like they have some sense:

what's the point of my repeatedly posting what you have no intention of acknowledging? What's the point of you posting what isn't in contention? You are such a dishonest coward to take that dodge. Not that I'm surprised.

" McConnell said Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican from Pennsylvania, presented an amendment Republicans wanted passed that would fix underlying accounting issues in the VA. But McConnell blamed Schumer for trying to block “any semblance of a fair amendment process.” “As written, the legislation would not just help American’s veterans as designed, it would also allow Democrats to effectively spend the same money twice and enable hundreds of billions of new unregulated or unrelated spending on the discretionary side of the federal budget,” McConnell said. “There’s no excuse why the Democratic leader should continue to block Sen. Toomey’s common-sense amendment. A bill this important and this bipartisan deserves for us to fix the accounting gimmick, and then it deserves to become law.” "

It’s a waste of time trying to debate anything with the wannabe Squad. Just like their heroines in the original Squad, they don’t have enough collective intelligence to read a Doctor Seuss book. At least a couple of them have recently admitted that Pedo Pete has been a disaster, that shows those Squad members at least have double digit IQ’s, if just barely. But it’s one thing to be mentally challenged, it’s another to refuse to see/admit the truth. So they choose not to discuss the idiot they elected and their party’s policies which have put us in the recession in which we now find ourselves.

Not only did Schumer not block Toomey's "common-sense amendment," Toomey was given every opportunity to bring it before the Senate for a vote but he balked. Maybe he fears it isn't so common sense after all.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, said Thursday afternoon he plans to hold another procedural vote on Monday evening. He said he would also re-extend an offer to Toomey to put his amendment forward on the floor.

“I don’t know where they came up with this. We offered Toomey, who is standing in the way, the ability to do an amendment at 60 votes, just like the bill is a 60-vote bill,” Schumer said.

Toomey instead insisted in conversations with others that he wanted his proposed changes reflected in the bill automatically without an amendment vote, Schumer said, noting he stands by his original offer.

“We will give Sen. Toomey a right to bring his amendment to the floor and try to get the votes for it,” Schumer said.

Toomey wants to take away the ability of appropriators to do their job,” Tester said. “Every appropriator should be mad as hell about that … Unfortunately, many of the appropriators voted with Toomey.

More like it is an ongoing exercise in futility trying to argue with the Sore Losers Society. Trump's crotch remoras are still so angry and upset over the lost election that it impairs any semblance of common sense they may have ever owned. And while you're making Dr. Seuss jokes, I'm still waiting for you to read over the PACT Act resolution, which I kindly provided you with in the form of a link almost 24 hours ago, and get back to me with some intelligent thoughts on the matter.

Instead, you and brownnose continue dodging the issue, refusing to believe that your esteemed Republicans could ever be more dishonest with the public and US veterans than the Democrats.

Joe is listed in Hunter’s phone contacts as “Pedo Peter“. We can surmise where the “Pedo” part comes from, now we know where the “Peter” part comes from. Evidently Joe used the pseudonym of “Peter Henderson”(ironically a fictional Soviet Union spy in Tom Clancy novels), in texts to close friends. It’s telling to say the least when a son uses that nickname for his dad/pops/father. WTF did Joe do to that kid to turn him into such a freak? That 🍎 fell right next to the tree trunk.

But Washington was a tranny drag queen - the wig, makeup, corsets.

you believe who you want to believe and I'll believe who I want to believe. Meanwhile, I guess as usual that I have to point out what common sense would tell us; that is, we who are not of diminished mental capacity....Senators who not only supported but helped craft this bill and then substantially voted to pass it, are NOT all of a sudden going to decide that the bill is not one that should pass. SOMETHING is a a substantial sticking point, substantial enough that the reluctant pub Sens are willing to take the hit for it, bellowed out by the likes of the hysterical lunatic Jon Stewart and lapped up like good little doggies like you. Given the dems history of creating traps just like this one, and recognizing the meaningless side ploys like the climate deal, I'm actually proud that we have representation that will stand its ground on our behalf and try to keep a plug in the obscene money drain that the dems keep making wider and wider with no regard for the damage it does to our country..

I'd love to see the backstory on that. Otherwise I call bullshit. Why would you have to buy something from what you considered to be your own property?

George is off limits.

That’s not how freedom of expression works. You’re attempting to undermine one of the core values that he and the other founding fathers committed their lives to fighting for.

I thought seemed odd as well. But apparently he said he bought them himself in one of his journals.

Deep within one of Washington’s account books is an entry which details Washington’s purchase of nine teeth from “Negroes” for 122 shillings. Whether the teeth provided by the Mount Vernon enslaved persons were simply being sold to dentist Dr. Jean-Pierre Le Mayeur or whether they were intended for George Washington, is unknown at this time. Since Washington paid for the teeth it suggests that they were either for his own use or for someone in his family. It is important to note that while Washington paid these enslaved people for their teeth it does not mean they had a real option to refuse his request.
