OOTB's Political Thread . ..

No, it doesn't bother me that you think that.
it should, it's based on the observation of an astute observer. You fall back on tl;dr when you don't want to fall back on inanity. Either way, you fall back because there's no way you can go forward when you're just wrong.

I already KNOW you're FOS. I don't need more and more dissertations to hammer it home.

OK, let me point out the part of your post that doesn't make sense...

from here...

"you missed the joke. also, same guy that is somehow confused re: the “dangers” of cell phones and wifi. eta: but he’s 70 and can do pull-ups.

...to here
can’t help you understand the joke if you can’t even see it.

what i can do is tell you he doesn’t understand the difference between cell phone and wifi exposure…he said he believes it’s the same, not my words, his…do you trust someone that believes that?

the kid watters, on fox news, thinks that because rfk can do a pull -up he’s a natural born health advocate.

Hey gentlemen... I've been gone from this board and Radar since end of last basketball season. All good, I didn't miss anything of import while away, did I? :D

Good to be back. Looking forward to this Heels team. My son, DIL and brand new granddaughter are in Tallahassee. Son has graduated from law school, passed the bar, and is a clerk for a federal judge in FL state capitol. I will go there to see the FSU / UNC game in Feb.

Should be fun!

Best wishes - Heelicious.

I saw that he was talking about not relying solely on a doctor's advice and then he was eating fast food I think. I have to assume that was supposed to be a joke but as a joke it was beyond lame and actually pointless.

wi-fi signals and cell signals are both radio frequencies, so although they are utilized differently, they are much the same in nature. There are serious questions of their effect on health. Radar, which also uses radio waves, is suspected according to studies of causing cancer. I trust someone who cautions that exposure to a great deal of radio waves at the frequencies in question could be harmful to us....and I'm glad someone is bringing that caution to the forefront instead of kowtowing to those concerns that might rather see such info suppressed.

Other than that, he's saying what I summarized...listen to your doctor but use common sense. Have you never heard that it's good to get second opinions regarding serious medical matters? That advice comes from the same school of thought, which is to not assume your doctor...just because he IS a doctor... is always steering you in the right direction. It is considered by most to be sound advice.

I'm still trying to see how this is some sort of 'gotcha'.

wait, you know I'm FOS for claiming that you use tl;dr and inanity to avoid admitting that you're wrong, when the proof is right there for all to see? LOL.

So, it's turning out that Oprah's production company actually got payments totaling closer to 2.5 mil. And, there are other accounting issues involved with some crazy numbers for things like DoorDash. Apparently, there's some gaps as well and it's looking like many of those rally attendees, well, let's just say it wasn't necessarily a conspiracy that they were bused in and potentially compensated for being there. If it did indeed happen, this is stuff that should have been fully explored and exposed by the big boys like NYT, WaPo, ABC, etc. Instead, they were in the bag for KH and ran a massive diversionary campaign with her. I find it disturbing and sad that the most reliable and timely news sources are turning out to be social media. There is just no way to separate in real time what is near the truth and what is some quack with an X account. We shouldn't have to completely guess on things.

Fox News isn't a big boy? You trust it above all the others... it's the BIGGEST boy.

Fox News is full blown, in-your-face propaganda. And, they are the best at it. It's got you, and millions of others, refusing to trust anything except Fox News. You can't get any bigger or better than that.

I thought Shoney was the biggest boy. No?

self-regulation could be a problem, but I'm not sure where we introduced the notion of self-regulation. I may have missed it. What I had in mind was gov. regulation, but on the up and up..

Massive profits is only a problem for commies. Massive profits fund massive research which saves lives and improves Q of L. Saving lives is kinda neat, huh?
Big pharma is known for self-regulation (or abusing that realm) - and this is a fight I'd like to see someone handle, just not rfk via hhs lead. His skepticism is a good thing, junk science and not being able differentiate correlation and causation is dangerous.

Wasn't ignoring you, just had one of those days. And, on a Friday evening, I just don't have the energy to go back and dig through/respond to each specific comment. I'll just say that I think it's a good thing to have someone involved who is openly speaking about some of the dirty little secrets from a health standpoint. Couple of things to hit.

You say that RFK "walks and talks like someone anti-vaxx" which sounds like another poster (former????) here who's favorite phrases were claiming someone was a crotch remora and then completely mischaracterizing what was said by prefacing it by saying "sounds like". RFK has repeatedly said that he is not anti-vax. Rather, he says that he is pro vax choice and that he is pro safe vax. You say things like there is absolutely no connection between autism rates skyrocketing and vaccines, but just exactly how do you know that? Because someone from pharm or the government told us so? Something is causing it along with a host of other issues medically speaking and that needs to be determined whether it is vaccines or something else. I got vaccines, my kids got vaccines, and so far the grandbaby has gotten what has been recommended. The fear is whether or not those "recommendations" are the best advice. Forgive me if I don't exactly trust the same people saying this who told us that the ouuchi would keep us from getting covid and that young people who basically didn't get or have any impact whatsoever (statistically) from covid needed, cha-ching, to be vaxxed - repeatedly. How many boosters are you up to at this point? IF you'll be honest, I bet you stopped them like everyone else. WHY? They are STILL recommended.

That's the problem with a bunch of vaccines. If you look at the list of vaccines that we got as kids and the list now, it's crazy. I'm out of my depth here, admittedly, but there are some obvious issues. Why are we giving newborns things like Hepatis B vax? In large part, it's spread by sex and needles, but newborns are getting vaxxed? That recommendation didn't start until 1991 I think. Do you remember your friends having an epidemic of Hep B growing up? Neither do I, but, cha-ching. Just makes no sense to give stuff to babies that can wait even if there is a real value to it over the long term from an entire life standpoint. But, cha-ching.

One more thing. You'll be shocked by me being a fan of Ronnie Raygun. But he was far from perfect. How on earth he passed immunity for vaccines is beyond me. Lastly, what happened to the guy who was on Obama the God's short list for FDA? Did he only become a nut after he decided Trump was relatively better than KH?

Gonna get some supper and get ready for the game at 8:00. Enjoy.
It's harder to debunk conspiracy, lies or misinfo than it is to push them. If you want to believe the autism stuff, fine, but if you want education on the matter try somewhere other than ootb.

I guess that was her token job for the support. I voted for her in the primary years ago.
It would be nice if token jobs were not important for actual function of government. I'm okay with the EPA guy and a few others, but some these... wow. SCOTUS has given the executive branch more power than ever + congress seems feeble and cowardly if they aren't of the nutty-vindictive MTG swath... Not a good time to have unqualified people leading large important branches.

I wonder why Trump didn't confer with you guys before deciding on his cabinet?

He's a screw-up. He breaks everything he touches, I'm not surprised he didn't.

Autism and wifi/ultrasound beliefs aside, what makes RFK qualified to run such a massive org? We need people to make these more efficient and more effective while not disrupting our health for the worse
