The margins and quite frankly, the team quitting against good teams speaks for itself. I've pulled for this team for damn near 50 years, and I know the game of basketball quite well. However.........I WILL NOT STICK MY HEAD IN THE SAND AND ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE WHEN IT'S NOT.
In what world does a good basketball team get blown out on so many occasions? Sure, it happens occasionally to all but the best teams, but if you can honestly look at this season with the lack of any development of the bench coupled with the miserable outings and tell me you're happy, then YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM, NOT ME.
I frankly couldn't care less what you have to say about me or my posts. I'm honest about what I see, and the fact is at this point, the emperor has no clothes. If you can't see that, that's on you. Will Hubert become a good coach and put this program back where it's accustomed to being? No one wants to see that more than I do, but he's got a lot to learn to get us there. If you can't acknowledge that, then I don't know what to say to you.
Well, well, well, the village idiot has spoken. Thanks for putting up your credentials and another mindless and dead horse post.
Let me give you mine, if that's ok with you.
1. I have played the game since Iwas 8 years old until retirement.
2. I was recruited by well over 20 colleges by my senior year in HS.
3. I played for DES @ UNC and I am extremely grateful for that opportunity.
4. I can walk into the basketball offices any day of the week I choose and am warmly welcomed.
5. I played 12 years professionally with 10 of those in the NBA.
6. I have enough experience to know the ins & outs of a team's dynamics and that
does not include surface viewing on a TV and then diagnosing what you think you see since there is so much more involved in team dynamics than what one sees on TV and even in person. Talent level, personal issues, emotional issues, coaching issues, and player development all are a part of any team's dynamics, and you don't have that knowledge and understanding as the tenure of your posts reflect a woeful lack of this required broader knowledge. You simply state what you think you see and where the problem issues lie, and none are right and that gives you away.
For those, like yourself, who think our issues are coaching related, are pissing into the wind. I will elaborate more fully in a future post about the true issues with this team and the last 2 years of Roy's tenure that just might be eye opening for some, and most likely will not move the needle for others who won't see the forest for the trees.
While we have athletic talent assuredly, we do not possess the quickness and the needed talent that most of the teams that have skull dragged us do have. In other words, we are athletic quickness talent deficient in SOME areas, and will continue to be until Hubert can recruit the needed talent. To win 20 games with the deficiencies that this year's team possesses, is, in my book, a major accomplishment given the make-up and level of talent we have.
If any want to take me to task, just review the losses that we have had to date. The only 2 games that we should have won were the ND & Pitt games, as we were totally outclassed talent wise in all of the others. This is not just my opinion, there are at least 8 former players, 1 color man, and 1 coach who agree about where this team stands. Too much experience and too many meetings of the minds to ignore them.
