Quick stuff (VaTech game 2)...

Manek does look gassed at time
With Garcia still on the team, Manek averaged 25 min/game; w/out Garcia, he's averaged 33.
At OU, he averaged 27/gm over the 4 years (his highest was 31 during his Jr. year)

It would be great if Hubert could give him just a few more minutes of rest each game, but losing Garcia really hurt.

Where you do lose me 1,000% is how Andrew Platek would of helped this team !
Well, with all due respect my friend, you are miles and miles off on that one. Think about it: Right now Hubert can't risk Kerwin being exposed for any period of time, as he's still a liability on the defensive end and loose with the rock due to bad footwork. In stark contrast, Plates would give us a + defender off the bench who takes care of the rock and has a (much-needed) high basketball IQ.

Bad message board narratives aside, it's pretty straight-forward.

The point differentials from the starting 5 to just 4 of the 5 to just 2 or 3 of the 5 or less than 2 of the 5 on the court is astounding. Like, it shows you why the starters play so many minutes.

We will agree to disagree on that. Andrew gave NO offense, a shooter who did not shoot well for his entire stint, never created as we all knew coming in he couldn't, but worked hard on dee, and played hard. With Leaky a SO much better version of a role player, with skills, I see zero way Platek would be a plus on this roster.

That's just miles off-base. Sorry, but there's no other way to put it, and "we" knew no such thing. It was a false narrative from day-1, and we're worse off for it as we speak.

I know that's your guy, fair enough, we disagree on this one.

I know ignorance when I hear it and also when I read it. You , and others simply do not know what you are talking about. How about you and others like yourself chew on this for awhile….., 19-8 & 11-5 in conference. Look back at the last 2 years of Roy’s tenure . He had most of the players on the roster that are playing most minutes plus 1 who went NBA and one who transferred to Auburn. Also, Hubert lost Ant & Garcia and will still have a better record than Roy did. Again, your ignorance shows out with the stupid posts that have the one agenda that is obvious. Hubert is getting it done and none of your ignorant drivel can displace that fact.
Ironic you claim to "know ignorance" and then start ranting about how impressive the current team's record is.

I guess you can't spot your own ignorance. The current UNC team's 19 wins are mostly over bad teams. Which is why UNC is currently on the bubble.

I also can spot stupid too, which makes you and your circular arguments shine brightly. You play who's on the schedule and we may or not be on the bubble, time will tell. What time has already told this posting community is that you are the ignorant one. When one ignorant position you take is exposed you move on to the next one, then the next, then start over. Maybe we should have a community vote to see who votes for the most ignorant and see who wins.

Get 'em 75! I hope you were referring to Superfool, but in any case, take that Troll!

The margins and quite frankly, the team quitting against good teams speaks for itself. I've pulled for this team for damn near 50 years, and I know the game of basketball quite well. However.........I WILL NOT STICK MY HEAD IN THE SAND AND ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE WHEN IT'S NOT.

In what world does a good basketball team get blown out on so many occasions? Sure, it happens occasionally to all but the best teams, but if you can honestly look at this season with the lack of any development of the bench coupled with the miserable outings and tell me you're happy, then YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM, NOT ME.

I frankly couldn't care less what you have to say about me or my posts. I'm honest about what I see, and the fact is at this point, the emperor has no clothes. If you can't see that, that's on you. Will Hubert become a good coach and put this program back where it's accustomed to being? No one wants to see that more than I do, but he's got a lot to learn to get us there. If you can't acknowledge that, then I don't know what to say to you.

I agree with most on this board that Hubert needs to use the bench more, but I totally understand why he doesn't ... too much pressure to win, and the subs are a liability. And if Styles, Dunn and Puff don't transfer during the off-season, then I'll feel confident that Coach Davis has the team "buying in" to what he's trying to do. Go Heels ... win or lose, I'm a Carolina fan!!!

I think we should talk it to death. If we all try really hard to be very negative, trash the Coach and maybe throw a few derogatory statements at the players, I think we can turn this season around.

“God, this team f*ckin sucks. I hate that we hired Hubert. He’s an inexperienced hack and he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Bubba is a colossal moron. The players are ego driven jerks too.”

There, my rant above should be good for a win or two. If we could just get everybody to be all pissy, we might make the Final Four! These sunshine pumpers need to get with the program.

Why do peeps continue to engage an obvious troll??? (although that was funny, Slinger!) At the very least he is not a Tar Heel fan and has no understanding of the Carolina Way!

Well, well, well, the village idiot has spoken. Thanks for putting up your credentials and another mindless and dead horse post.

Let me give you mine, if that's ok with you.

1. I have played the game since Iwas 8 years old until retirement.
2. I was recruited by well over 20 colleges by my senior year in HS.
3. I played for DES @ UNC and I am extremely grateful for that opportunity.
4. I can walk into the basketball offices any day of the week I choose and am warmly welcomed.
5. I played 12 years professionally with 10 of those in the NBA.
6. I have enough experience to know the ins & outs of a team's dynamics and that
does not include surface viewing on a TV and then diagnosing what you think you see since there is so much more involved in team dynamics than what one sees on TV and even in person. Talent level, personal issues, emotional issues, coaching issues, and player development all are a part of any team's dynamics, and you don't have that knowledge and understanding as the tenure of your posts reflect a woeful lack of this required broader knowledge. You simply state what you think you see and where the problem issues lie, and none are right and that gives you away.

For those, like yourself, who think our issues are coaching related, are pissing into the wind. I will elaborate more fully in a future post about the true issues with this team and the last 2 years of Roy's tenure that just might be eye opening for some, and most likely will not move the needle for others who won't see the forest for the trees.

While we have athletic talent assuredly, we do not possess the quickness and the needed talent that most of the teams that have skull dragged us do have. In other words, we are athletic quickness talent deficient in SOME areas, and will continue to be until Hubert can recruit the needed talent. To win 20 games with the deficiencies that this year's team possesses, is, in my book, a major accomplishment given the make-up and level of talent we have.

If any want to take me to task, just review the losses that we have had to date. The only 2 games that we should have won were the ND & Pitt games, as we were totally outclassed talent wise in all of the others. This is not just my opinion, there are at least 8 former players, 1 color man, and 1 coach who agree about where this team stands. Too much experience and too many meetings of the minds to ignore them.

Against Pitt, in 20mins of play from our bench players we got 3pts and 1 or 2 rebounds...

When you get in from the bench you have to produce in order for the coach to trust you at critical points.

'75... almost all on this board appreciate what you bring to the table. Your insight, your IN-sight (with the program) and the way you deliver and share your knowledge makes logging in and reading here worthwhile.

Sadly, you're falling into the trap of responding to someone who, maybe, has too much time on their hands.

I'm not going to call this guy a troll. He likely isn't. He's just got one idea in his head and is hitting the repeat button over and over again.... You engaging and retaliating is like what so often happens with these online debates,,,,, they go nowhere.

On behalf of the many, many posters who truly appreciate what you bring to the board, please just step away gracefully and save your energy for bringing more valuable info to us poor plebs who really want to know what's going on.

Much more eloquent and less vitriolic than my previous take but the idea is the same....some ideas are not worth even thinking about and some people aren't worth the engagement!

Go Tar Heels!
