Recommendation for a diet

Mello Yello is easily a 2 or 3 seed in a field of 64 Best Cokes
Impossible, because it isn't Coke. There aren't enough varieties of Coke to make a 64-seed tournament.

Coca-Cola Classic
Diet Coke
Coke Zero
Cherry Coke
Vanilla Coke

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are/have been others.

Pay attention.

You'll be hearing from my attorney.

Mountain Dew would occupy all 12 spots above Mello Yello in a tournament.
Seems impossible.

Thank you.

Honestly, I don't even know if I can name 12 soft drinks.
Off the top of my head and not spending more than 30 seconds on this poast:

  1. Coca-Cola
  2. Coke Zero
  3. Mello Yello
  4. Mountain Dew
  5. Mountain Dew: Code Red
  6. Mountain Dew: White Out
  7. Sunkist
  8. Cheerwine
  9. Dr. Pepper
  10. Pibb Extra
  11. Fanta
  12. Sprite
  13. 7 Up
  14. Cherry Coke
  15. Sierra Mist
  16. Pepsi
  17. Wild Cherry Pepsi
  18. Crystal Pepsi LOL
  19. Sun Drop

Seems impossible.

Damn dude. I very rarely drink soft drinks (it's been a few months), but when I go looking for one, I only look for:

Coke
Pepsi
Cheerwine
Mountain Dew
Sprite
Dr. Pepper

That's it.

Yes, I intentionally left off Crystal Pepsi since I don't consider it to be actively on the market. If it was, it'd be the only one I'd ever drink.

What do you drink for caffeine? Coffee?

And variety is the spice of life. The Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at places like Moe's and Firehouse are the greatest thing ever invented.

I don't, I just kinda go. They'll be times where I wish I had some caffeine, but I just sort of shake it off and get over it.
........

Yeah.. doesn't compute. I imagine it would be easier to "shake it off and get over it" if I didn't drink so much, though. I can count on two hands the number of days I haven't had something caffeinated since, say, 2010.

lol Yeah, it's only because I don't drink it often, so my body doesn't rely on it. People say they need caffeine all the time, but you really don't (I'll admit, there are times when I think I do too). It's just that you're addicted to it, and your body doesn't know what to do when it doesn't have it.

Before my diet, ginger ale was my choice. Sprite only when ginger was not a valuable. No dark sodas at all. I've also been caffeine free for 15 years.

So I pulled this thread back from the basement to say, I have lost 32lbs. Took one week off for vacation, but I think I'm happy with the results.
Started exercising for about 3 weeks. I am now laid up with intense sciatic nerve pain. Had an MRI which I will get the results wednesday. The doctor said I have either 2 herniated disk, or scar tissue built up at my surgery site. I am fairly depressed about this. I was actually feeling good and had all the energy in the world from exercising.
It was a simple workout I was doing.
Bow flex tread climber for 30 minutes daily keeping my heart rate at 135.
Pushup sets till burn out every other day
Sit ups set every day
I added matching leg lifts(cannon cockers for the prior military)
I wonder if the changfe in my body had something to do with this. I went for a 42 pants size to almost fitting in 36.
I am still on the diet, but now missing an important part by not being able to work out

Even though this isn't English I think I get the gist of it. Did your exercise regimen cause the problem? What are your treatment options? Sucks that you've come so far only to get derailed like this.
Meant to say the doctor said its either 2 herniated disk, or scar tissue from the previous surgery. Not sure what set it off. My wife blames the exercise. I have discovered that I have very little feeling in my back. I am experiencing referred pain in my leg. So I may have hurt it and did not know it at the time.

I didn't want to 'jinx' my own diet that I started back on the 1st of the year by poasting in this thread until I had some good results to share. I eliminated as many fattening items as I could stand to do w/o, limited my alcohol intake and began a walking routine. 30 minutes morning & afternoons and that at a brisk pace. I now walk about 2 hours daily . . rain or shine.
I bought the most accurate bathroom scale I could find, placed it in a hallway I travel through maybe 15 times daily and I remind myself of my current weight & progress by stepping on it every time I walk by it. I think that has helped some in keeping myself focused
My heaviest official weight was @ 306.5 lbs. and that was taken in the doctor's office 9 months back, the BP reading was out of sight.

This AM I am at 224 with hopes of being at 220 by this wknd & my BP is below normal before ingesting any coffee.

It's nice to have gone from wearing a 46 inch waist to a 38. I'm happy, but, not satisfied . . and there's more still to lose.

I drink a lot of water & low sodium V8 . . . and an occasional small glass of wine (6 oz).

Dang Billy, you was a hefty dude. Congratulations.
When I hit the 20lb mark, I made my wife hold 2 10lb bowling balls. She was amazed at how that felt. I said imagine carrying that everywhere you go.
I find myself encouraging others who struggle now.

nice work, @BillyL and @Grayhead

also, sorry about your injury @Grayhead.

my own personal story started as a challenge the day after the super bowl with eating nothing that walks, runs, or flys...i cheated one time in blowing rock in june b/c i'd never had pheasant.

i don't miss it at all...i have noticed the results significantly in my energy while i exercise and in my tastebuds...it's really easy this week on the obx.

Some people need to eat something besides grass. We can't all eat like a cow.

Good to hear from Billy and Gray. Congrats! I'm not really trying to lose any weight but I have kept the twice a day at the gym thing going just for my health and to tone up. I'm surprised I haven't quit yet tbh. Hang in there Gray. Hope the health clears up soon.
