Hillary's group seems very skilled at wiping things but very unskilled at cough suppressing and staying erect.
I won't be voting for him, but for the most part the above two things are true.
I know he didn't say for the most part. I was saying for the most part. Laws, by definition, take away freedoms. Obviously not all laws are bad, but in my opinion a huge number of them are. Yes, I read the second part. There is a whole lot of bad/evil things that can be traced backed to something the government has done. Some of it was unintentional, but as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.Really? He didn't say "for the most part"...he said "Every time". Like how all those anti-discrimination and child porn laws take away our freedoms.
As for the second one...did you actually read what he said? He's a friggin' idiot.

You missed it..."The root of all evil, if you want to point at it, is politicians that are going to save you and I from terrorists, from illegal immigrants, from drugs. Elect me, and I'll save you."
He says that the root of all evil is politicians that are going to us, then in the same breath says "Elect me, I'll save you".
I saw that, but that is not what I was referring to which is why I didn't quote it.You missed it..."The root of all evil, if you want to point at it, is politicians that are going to save you and I from terrorists, from illegal immigrants, from drugs. Elect me, and I'll save you."

Umm, no, that is not what he's saying. You put the quotes of the original statement around the whole comment. When he said "Elect me, and I'll save you", he was QUOTING how R & D politicians pitch themselves. He explains how it's an evil ideology and then speaks IN CHARACTER as one of those politicians. You missed it..."The root of all evil, if you want to point at it, is politicians that are going to save you and I from terrorists, from illegal immigrants, from drugs. Elect me, and I'll save you."

Voters job description:Politician's job description:
Responsibility #1 -- Get elected.
Responsibility #2 -- Get re-elected.
They will say and do anything to accomplish their task at hand.
No kidding... it's meant to get laughs! That's the whole point.I haven't followed this thread, but I maintain my stance on a similar thread a few weeks ago -- consider the source. Comedy Central exists to provide comedy. News flash - I would bet everything I have that these are staged interviews. They are generated to provide entertainment.
"Laws" are nothing more than codified restrictions. They RESTRICT. Okay? They impose, by threat of some kind of force, a preferred behavior... usually based on the opposite of that behavior having occurred too often.Really? He didn't say "for the most part"...he said "Every time". Like how all those anti-discrimination and child porn laws take away our freedoms.

They are codified removals of liberty. You may think that they are needed, and that's fine. But, regardless, they are restrictions. The more "laws" a society has, the less FREE it truly is. And, much less evolved... which is a helluva lot more worrisome if you're in the society.
You know how you can tell that "laws" are restrictions and basically cater to the fears of human beings? You never see a law that forces people to love one another. If that is too emotional for a basis of a law, then you never see a law that forces people to share all of their belongings. You never see a law that requires people to verbally greet one another on the street.
Laws are the result of a society's fears coming to life.
I love this one. I had one of my uber-liberal friends send that to me. "See! He doesn't even know what Aleppo is!" You know what? I didn't know what the WORD "Allepo" was referring to either. My Syrian geography is lacking. I'm not shocked when someone doesn't know that Aleppo is a city in Syria. Frankly, I have spoken to dozens and dozens of people in Atlanta who have no idea what Lake Hartwell is or where!"What is a leppo?"
That's true, but I would argue there are a few exceptions. I know people on this board have gone back and forth about what is right and wrong and how it's all subjective, but sometimes there is no subjectivity. For instance, @heelbent example of child porn. There is not a person on this planet that can make a sane and logical argument that it's not 100% wrong to rape a two year old and film it. There is no subjectivity to that. Now, I realize that if we were a more evolved society things like that wouldn't happen, but that's just not the world we live in. So, I'm in favor of getting rid of many laws, because they are unnecessary and in some cases unconstitutional I still think that laws are needed in limited circumstances. They are codified removals of liberty. I hope not. These boards would suck if we all had to get along. You never see a law that forces people to love one another.
You don't get to play in the sandbox anymore. "A necessary evil?" I love that. And, these are almost always the same people who believe in that mythical EVIL called Satan. Evil is evil. You need to learn that.laws are a necessary evil and some freedoms need to be restricted.

What's interesting is; Johnson's foreign policy ideas would have allowed Aleppo to remain in it's perpetual obscurity to Americans. Voting for Hillary and Trump will make us more familiar with middle eastern city names because they'll be sure and destroy as many as needed to keep the spigot flowing to US interests.
I've never understood why people get upset that a candidate doesn't know about a city or who the president of whatever-stan is. Most people couldn't tell you that stuff and it's almost always useless. I prefer them to know more important things like how the economy works.I love this one. Look, man... I'm not here to encourage people to engage in child pornography, or murder, or anything else that society deems as pervasive degradation or damaging. A society that collectively does get along with one another is not succeeding at that because it has the MOST laws! Laws = fears. The presence of laws equals the presence of fear in a society. Now, you can downplay that succumbing to fear and admission of fear is a weakness (which I agree, actually). But, until people realize that fear is what drives their need for laws, then the individual acts of negativity (murder, child porn, etc.) just go on and on and on.That's true, but I would argue there are a few exceptions. They'll make sure you're told exactly what to do and which freedoms need to be reined-in so as to keep people from being too free. If you have become accepting of an idea like "some freedoms need to be restricted" then, to me, you are just flat-out dangerous to humanity. Freedom needs to be restricted? You know, dude, if you believe that??? You have no business calling people idiots.
I'm not shocked that he didn't know where the city of Aleppo is located. I highly doubt Donald Trump knows where the place is either... until it's on fire. The man is running for President. Of course you're not shocked he didn't know about it because you support him.
You pounce on Trump and his supporters at every opportunity yet you give this moron a pass. Amazing.
Voting for Johnson is a wasted vote. The man is an idiot.

Um, no, I never claimed, in any way, that pedophiles should be "allowed" to indulge their every whim. You're not really qualified to discuss this when you believe certain evils are "necessary." When you allow evil somewhere, you can't be surprised when it surfaces somewhere ELSE that you don't care for. When you condone executions (a necessary evil in the minds of many), don't be surprised when people have abortions (just plain ol' evil to the same ones who are okay with executions). So pedophiles should be free to indulge their whims. You know dude if you believe that, you don't deserve to walk among civilized human beings.
Thank you. Coming from someone who believes freedom needs to be restricted, I am very pleased you find me to be an idiot. I wouldn't want it any other way. This is some of the most idiotic BS I have ever read.
I wasn't trying to imply that you were trying to encourage it. I was just using it as an extreme example that we could all agree was wrong.Look, man... I'm not here to encourage people to engage in child pornography, or murder, or anything else that society deems as pervasive degradation or damaging
I do think that most laws are created out of fear, so I've got no argument with you on that one. Now, you can downplay that succumbing to fear and admission of fear is a weakness (which I agree, actually). Or, maybe how not bombing the city they didn't know the name of creates a buzzword for the rubble and upheaval that is left after you bomb the place.I've never understood why people get upset that a candidate doesn't know about a city or who the president of whatever-stan is. Most people couldn't tell you that stuff and it's almost always useless. I prefer them to know more important things like how the economy works.

Well, I know you'll dislike this perspective; But, "right" and "wrong" are relative things. That is why laws are really arcane. Do you know how many "laws" are still on the books that forbid/restrict/condemn getting a blowjob??? Anal sex?I wasn't trying to imply that you were trying to encourage it. I was just using it as an extreme example that we could all agree was wrong.
I do think that most laws are created out of fear, so I've got no argument with you on that one.

By the way, you never emailed me about how God changed your life. Did you have a change of heart?
The man is running for President. Of course you're not shocked he didn't know about it because you support him.

No, I think you're accusing me of something I'm not guilty of doing. When you make a statement like that, you indicate that you think you are INFERIOR to me. That's your choice.. You think you do because you actually believe you are morally and mentally superior to everyone.
Sharing how God changed your life is a waste of time?Decided not to waste my time.
I've never said that I dislike your perspective on that. I agree with you to a certain extent that those are relative.Well, I know you'll dislike this perspective; But, "right" and "wrong" are relative things.
This would fall into the "laws I don't agree with" category. That gives me an idea for a good thread about dumb laws. I'll have to create one.Do you know how many "laws" are still on the books that forbid/restrict/condemn getting a blowjob???
Sharing how God changed your life is a waste of time?
If you say so.
How does someone know more than "they think they know?" I'm not sure that's possible. It must be something that only people who feel the need to restrict freedom are aware of.Neither of you know as much as you think you do, nor are you "qualified" to lead an ant parade.
Suit yourself. To me, that only shows you weren't genuine about the offer to begin with.Nope...decided sharing it with YOU was waste of time.
voting for anyone in THIS election is a wasted vote, period.
No, I think you're accusing me of something I'm not guilty of doing. When you make a statement like that, you indicate that you think you are INFERIOR to me. That's your choice.
I KNOW I am not superior. I never, EVER claim superiority over anyone here... EVER! That is why you rarely, if ever, see me resort to calling people idiots or morons, or other degrading terms.
To me, all laws are dumb laws, in the grand scheme of things. Laws are evidence that we are very evolved as a species. I'm trying to evolve, simply put. I'm hoping everyone else is trying to evolve, too. I realize everyone else is not doing it like I am. So... I don't get in the way of them making their laws. But, on an occasion like this, I will make a mouse-peep and challenge the whole premise.I've never said that I dislike your perspective on that. I agree with you to a certain extent that those are relative.
