Then stay out of Belgium? If Islam makes sense to more people, then it will grow and more people will embrace it. You cannot stop it. If an ideology's time has come, then it has come. I think these ancient religions are definitely on the way out. But, it's hard to convince someone who belongs to one of them of that.

I realize most American Christians are afraid of everything Islamic, but, that's not my problem, personally. Islam is just another Abrahamic religion to me. I would suggest you scale way-back on the right-wing media consumption. I would recommend staying away from all political media, in general... all of it. They sell fear, and it's cheap.
Sharia and Islam goes against everything that makes America.....just saying

Sorry, you are going to have to do better than that if you want me to respond. Those were not responses that demonstrated understanding. No offense as I'm sure you feel the same way. I just don't care enough to engage when I feel that way. It feels like arguing with that Gastineau dude on the main board.

Dude, I feel as though you're trying to prove something. You have every right to be an atheist, and I respect that right. Religion does not make a person moral.

At the same time, what are you gaining by obnoxiously asserting that there is no God and anyone who does believe there is one, is an idiot? You're similar to my step grandfather. He focuses so much time and effort trying to prove to me that there's no God that it becomes tiresome. I wouldn't try to convert anyone to my beliefs, there are some atheists that go beyond the idea of not believing in a creator (which is fine) but then they get offended at the idea that billions of people believe in some sort of religion and lazily blame the world's problems on that alone.

Yes you're right. There are no negative consequences to this, so we should just leave people alone... Ya know, like the evangelicals do with science classrooms...

And that would be one of my critiques of the people who want to impose creationism in schools, which I don't agree with.

And damn right you should leave people alone. Debating respectfully is fine, but don't shove your dogma down their throats.

I know what you're going to say "Religious people shouldn't shove their dogma down my throat" and you're right they shouldn't. It's wrong both ways, but the fact that you claim to be "enlightened" because you don't believe in God then relentlessly call someone a moron who does, is a complete double standard.

I'm sorry but I don't accept that. Islam in the modern world has become more radicalized than the other big religions. I don't think most people who practice it are evil at all, quite the reverse. However there is a higher percentage of people within Islam that are extremists or have the potential to be. And we should not want that in our respective nations. Take a good at Saudi Arabia and then Belgium. Which one would you rather live? Which one respects the rights of women? Which one respects secular law? Which allows the freedom to drink, wear as you please, and worship as you please? You know the answer to this. Islamic ideology is contradictory to the very idea of Western democracy and therefore should be treated with caution and not allowed permeate through young minds. Europe belongs to Europeans, not the other way around.

When did I ever refer to myself as enlightened? I also dont remember using any dogma.

Go watch Carolina play football dude lol

Wahhabism Islam is, yes. You know where that form of Islam thrives? Saudi Arabia! Islam is broken-down into denominations just like Christianity.

But, when you conduct foreign policy the way the USA conducts it, you could create dangerous backlash no matter what the indigenous religion happens to be. When you do it for 60 years in the same area, you get a hot bed of angry, vengeful people... just like we have.

Then leave that to Europeans to decide.
