Trump & Hillary

giphy.gif
But, hey! What possible difference does it make?!?!

Trump would act all tough and say a bunch of stuff that angry Americans would want to hear. After that, I'm not sure.

After this he would listen to the people who have direct responsibility for these areas (defense secretary, Secretary of State, intelligence director, chairman of joint chiefs) and they would come up with best plan of action and implement.

Trump is not going to be a micro manager in any situation. He understands his job as Prez/CEO is to develop the vision and mission and provide advice on strategy. But after that, he is going to let his people do their jobs.

Really, that's all a president should do. I just want a guy to set a positive tone for Americans, not manage the intricacies of health care, containing ISIS, etc

And re: the tax forms. I think the docs on the Clinton Foundation would be much more interesting than Trump's personal tax returns - but I agree that both should be out there.

I don't get the sense that, when push comes to shove, he would honestly do something stupid that jeopardizes this country. I honestly see him as the type that is going to get shit done, plain and simple. And we have needed that for a LONG time.
I'm afraid he would do something stupid not knowing any better. You're giving this man a lot more credit in that department than he deserves.

Yup, everything with him is calculated. He's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one on this board who sees this.

He literally has the media and democrats on a string and they don't even know it.

What has he done that has been stupid since he announced his candidacy? And contrast that with the number of intelligent things he has done.

Your disdain for Trump is puzzling. You have more of it than most Hilldawg supporters, yet you claim to not be a democrat.

I understand how this conclusion can be drawn, but I really don't think I'm giving too much credit. There are things I have my own reservations about (i.e.: I'm not sure how much of a Christian he is, if at all). But purely on his ability to LEAD this country, I honestly think he's the strongest candidate we have had, easily in my lifetime. Again, though, I completely get and understand why so many on here would suggest I enroll in the loony-bin for thinking this way. For me, I don't need to see a resume or hear a hundred speeches to know if someone can lead or not. They either have it or they don't.

I've never voted a democrat ticket in my life, I am no Hillary supporter but this man is beyond being unfit for the job.

Exactly. 100% agree. And I honestly envision Ivanka, who I think is quite possibly the smartest of them all, to be very involved...and could run for POTUS herself down the line.

What makes you think he is unfit for the job? Every time I have asked that question the usual response has something to do with what he has said during the campaign or they don't like his personality. I agree that he has had verbal diarrhea at times and could tone it down. Does that make him unfit for the job though? I think it makes him a jackass, but not necessary unfit for office.

You said that good, well and directly on point.

Trump is nothing more than a carnival barker . .

YES! A president is a spokesman for the country as a whole. He's a figurehead. Or she, as the case may be.

Well, since he has never held a public office the only thing we can base an opinion on is what he says and his own words prove he is unfit. Does his personality make him unfit for the job? Of course it does.

Then you would agree that Hillary and Obama are unfit as well correct? They have done the same. Not to the extent that Trump has, but they've had their moments.

She would certainly make for a better looking POTUS than Hillary.

Sure is easy on the eyes... wow.

If Hillary were to lose this election, I hope she'd still be alive to watch Ivanka become the first ever woman POTUS. Can you imagine the pure unbridled hatred she'd have watching that happen? She'd lose her "women need to vote for women" shtick pretty damn quick.

IMO Obama speaks well...and he is possibly the most unfit POTUS we have ever had.

I really don't think this is far fetched at all.

See - I think this is one of the main roots of the differences of opinions on the issue. Some people see this as an overwhelming negative. I see it as a pure positive. It's not like they're pulling in some unemployed clown off the street. Trump has had a lot of success in running organizations - they've just been in the private sector as opposed to the public sector.

The problem (IMO - which, as we all know, is fact) is that politician-lifers are concentrated on keeping the status quo of making sure they all take care of each other - and screw the "common man". Everything these lifers do is for the almighty vote, and if applicable, re-election. I think (hope?) that Trump would be more of the "let's get some damn results" variety.

In my lifetime Jimmy Carter was the most unfit president but he was the smartest person to ever hold the office. IMO

I have no problem with this post. The problem would be if we had a 9/11 type event. Trump has proven by his very words that he would put the nation in more danger. He's unfit....period

Yep. The time of Kennedys and Bushes has passed. The Trumps are America's next political dynasty.

(Eta- this is a joke)

If experience is necessary to be president, name one political topic that is important for a president to know that can't be learned in an hour.

I know. It's amazing someone so stupid could be beating the worlds smartest woman in a presidential election.

A pedophile may be capable of running a daycare center but they are not fit to run it. Trumps the same way.

He's beating her . . ? I missed Sportsccenter this morning, whats the score . . ?

He won the battle to represent the Republican Party . . . he won't win the war to lead this country.

As pitiful of a candidate that Clinton is, only a Donald Trump would make her look like the better choice. In a time when the republicans should be blowing away HC, they've chosen someone that will ultimately lose yet another POTUS election.

And, someone that will damage their whole party... which is awesome!

Given the state of the country now it would appear that experience in holding a public office is a bad thing. Do you have a problem with his policies? I honestly don't care if a president is a jackass as long as his policies are sound.

This is a good vision of Trump, to me. This has been my own mentality my whole life, which is probably why I'm migrating to him as our next POTUS. When this place is better in eight years, just say you're welcome. GOAT status.

What policies? Build a wall, Round up all muslims, Torture women and children, Send the Mexicans back, what policy do you not have a problem with? Make America Great, Make America Great, just what in the hell does that mean? Good night to all.....

I'm not so sure that he would put the nation in more danger - as we haven't seen his reaction to something like that as president. Right now - he's trying to garner votes (same as any other politician I guess) and saying what he needs to in order to direct attention where he wants it to be. Honestly I'm shocked that the media and Dems allow him to dictate the direction of the "chatter" but to this point they have.

But even if I grant you that he'd put the nation in more danger than Hillary in the aftermath of a 9/11 type attack... can't we both agree that from their supposed policies - that the chances of such an attack occurring in the first place are lower with Trump as President than Hillary?

I have a problem with some of those, that's why I don't plan on voting for him.
