As I said last year, it is stupid to blame Bateman. Bateman was correct that all the position coaches on D needed to be replaced.

Chizik now needs to inform Mack, and Bubba, that the D cannot be fixed unless he has control to fire position coaches and hire their replacements.

And Bubba needs to be thinking about replacing Mack.
