That's his game. If the refs gonna allow it then we need to deny him the ball in the first place.
Berry also got owned a bit by frank Jackson. Not competitive at all defending that kid who hasn't really been a big threat for the rookies.
Push off or arm bar on every play because he can only go right. Don't need to specify who because we all know. Wish the refs would call it.
Even with bad Berry we never looked flustered at all which is encouraging
Agreed. Bradley got rooted out before he even shot and got the foul call. A couple "air ball" shots including one by Maye, his arms were basically taken off. And early in the game Berry got hockey checked to the floor.... in all cases, its "play on"
Yep - not a whole lot of contested shots by us. And they made some that were. Refs need to stop ignoring them fouling us on shots as well as the push offs
Yet another lackluster performance from Joel. Is he OK? We aren't likely to win this if he has a 2nd half like his first half. Marcus had a reputation for showing up big in the 2nd half. I hope some of that has rubbed off on Joel.
The good news is he'll be rested.

I know....... we have people all over in the lane..... especially Berry.... guarding the literal paint on the floor and nobody else. What purpose does that serve? Do you think Roy could tell them to never leave their guy on the three line? And see how that works? No way they miss enough open 3's to lose. Guarded 3's? I like our chances much better.
How many possessions have ended with turnovers that ended up without a shot being taken?
Is Duke that much better at setting screens to free their perimeter players or are we just letting them get free?
And is it just me or is the dribble hand off illegal screen not a point of emphasis this season?
Officials let them play which I'm Ok with even though we definitely got hacked a few times with no calls. I've seen too many ACC games this year where both teams in double bonus at the under 12 tv timeout.
Tru, great observation. It's always a point of emphasis in November and then they stop calling it.
I get that the officiating gets into a flow and they just go with the flow, but if it is a point of emphasis, I would think that they would make a conscious effort to look for it.
Smart play by Maye. If he doesn't immediately shoot that one, he doesn't get that shot off.
Tru, I agree. It's a moving screen. Call it on everybody all year. Same for the point of emphasis a few years back where they'd call a foul every time a post defender put 2 hands on an offensive players back in the post. They don't call that anymore either.
