Yep. I still think the unspoken reason Roy cancelled the original visit was the family feud... now with Manley on board the last visit was a no-harm-no-foul situation. If he chose us it was another nice Big we had room for. If not, no disaster.
Ok but the family told AJ and Clint that they were choosing us. Something happened.
For me this one is easy to move on from, I and I think many assumed by the timing of his visit and this announce date that it looked good for us. Want to say this as gently as I can but it does seem there may still be some degree of conflict within that family. I do wonder had the kid committed to us if pops would have been hyper critical publicly if his son did not get the PT he wanted and look after a year or 2 to bring him to Miss St anyway. I would not want to have seen us back in another Larry Drew like public relations nightmare.
Well... momma sure as heck ain't happy he's heading west. Folks in Auburn expected it to be UNC too, BTW.

So your saying I should have interest in the PJ Washington announcement, even though is an "UK lock", like Brooks was to UNC?
I wish I was in the know enough to tell you that. I have no idea. My assumption is that PJ is going to uk. I also assumed that Brooks was coming here. I also assumed that Donald Trump had about a 15% chance of winning last night. Maybe I should assume that I'm going to go bankrupt and then buy a few lottery tickets.
I have no inside info but the feeling was brooks was coming here. Something happened. So do we land stokes now? Who I preferred anyway or do we get back involved with Tillman? Word is though that Tillman is billican bound
Looks like ISU and UT are the two schools with a realistic chance of landing Stokes. Any chance we could possibly be a player in his recruitment, and when is he supposed to commit?

Cliff notes:
- Garrison lives with his mom and stepdad in Auburn, but original dad now coaches at MSU.
- Mom (an alum and former basketball hostess) wanted him at Auburn U, but Pearl slow-played him as he was a late-bloomer
- UGA was on him first, UNC was his personal dream school, and of course dad is at MSU
- Pearl and staff made a late push after Garrison blew up over the summer, and it was enough to satisfy momma
- So Mom was fine with UNC, Auburn or prolly even UGA.... but NOT MSU.
same. I still am of the mind that one more 3 star was one too many 3 star. maybe PJ shocks us. or vanderbilt or knox commit. If not I say stash the damn schollie.
I'll add one other thing I picked up from the Auburn end:
They were even conceding him to UNC, because of his aforementioned affinity and momma being sufficiently impressed during the visit.
My guess is that dad must've gotten on the phone with him and swayed him at the end..
Kid was tore up about it, as you can see, and no one looked very happy about what should be a joyous day for him.
I'm going to go back to something @DSouthr said about the family and Roy. I agree 100% that it was an issue, and in fact I'll go out on a limb and say that was a big reason UNC cancelled his original trip to Chapel Hill. I believe the "transcript" issue was at best a convenient excuse. Roy was not likely to risk having him verbally commit back then and scare away other Bigs, only to have this pressure change his mind --- especially not when a gem like Manley had fallen into his lap.
As I posted above, once Manley was in the fold, then Brooks became a luxury --- we still had the room for another good Big no matter what goes down with the Hybrids.
If we dont get one of the three maybe Roy can get a PF grad transfer, that player would have a near guarantee to start for a year at UNC.
Not everyone can see what the insiders are saying so IMO there was a bit of assuming going on.
So you won't change your opinion when we tell you that both Brooks and his mom told Clint that it was UNC? To you that's still assuming? Hmmm.
Look at that video, Garrison doesn't want to go to MSU.
