What you listening to today?

old timey I know, but love me some JB. And I would be happy listening to the instruments alone. Clyde Stubblefield and Maceo Parker might not be the very best at what they did, but they are no question at the top of the heap. There is a youtube vid I've seen of Stubblefield explaining how he developed the complicated beat for one of JB's songs and it left me feeling happy I just learned to put one foot in front of the other, because playing drums like that isn't in me or most normal people.

@dadika13, Genesis concert is Friday. I'll report back how it is.
Oh man, nice and I’m jealous. I looked at the set list they’ve been doing and it’s all the songs you want to hear from them at a show.

I’m curious to hear how you think it is with Phil sitting. Weird way to do a concert.

From what I've been reading, Phil sitting hasn't had much of an impact on the show. I'll let you know how it sounds in person.

ENVIOUS, unless you think he's two-timing you...which he probably is.

Hope this helps.

Billy Idol came to Roanoke, VA about a month or so ago. I wanted so badly to go but couldn’t. He’s up there with one of my favorite artist of the 80s along with Hall & Oates and Huey Lewis and The News.

I saw idol in his prime in charlotte. Put on a great show. His stage backdrop was a nude women’s legs spread with the band playing in her vagina

that's one show I would like to have seen. I fell in love with the song that I posted when the brand new MTV featured it.

My quick review for the show, @dadika13...

I thought he sounded great. Would have never known he was singing while sitting down. He was still engaging the audience and seemed to be really happy to be on stage. It wasn't just one of those going through the motion things. His son did a really good job. And of course, Mike and Tony nailed it.

The stage set up was nice too. Mostly made up of lighting and video boards, but the way they used them was great.

Love to hear that. I can’t wait for the December show up here. Good stuff.

I'm done with Wildflowers and have moved on this morning to an hour long video of mark Knopfler doing his thing. Talk about underrated...

The whole Wildflowers album is spectacular.

I used to be just a lukewarm Petty fan and I passed up a lot of opportunities to see him in concert because the word was he might very well show up trashed and put on a stinker of a show. But I decided I needed to see him before one of us died, and I caught one of the tightest, most well done shows I ever attended. Top ten for me. It's amazing how a live concert can shit all over recorded music.

Petty fit in so well with the Willburys, I wanted that to go on forever.

Good stuff you posted.
