What you listening to today?

I'm done with Wildflowers and have moved on this morning to an hour long video of mark Knopfler doing his thing. Talk about underrated...

now you're talking, brother. Knopfler is THE best, IMO. Just like the video I posted of Stubblefield doing the drums in a way I could only dream of, there's one of Mark Knopfler explaining his guitar style and it is stupefying to me.

When I wanted to demo some stereo equipment, I would always take my Brothers in Arms disc along as a standard of what I wanted to hear at its best.

This Pretender album was special for my dad. He and his brother used to listen to it when his brother was dying of melanoma. The title track was clearly the biggest hit and is a great song for sure. But these two are my favorites.

I saw Jackson Browne in chapel hill. It was outdoor somewhere and me and my gf sat on blankets. Great time.

Well, that sucks. You could always just fly up to Boston. @Hark_The_Sound_2010 can pick you up at the airport and take you to TD Garden.
Sure thing. I'll be with some friends on our way to something else, but can grab him on the way.

The coaching carousel thread kept reminding of this song from when I was in junior high school. I knew the band was from Raleigh, and I had the 45 rpm, but I never knew there was a video that was made at Pullen Park in Raleigh! The video is about as "80s" as it can get!

This is a cool version of the Hollies song. I'd never heard the Hollies version before I heard this:

I apologize if this has already been poasted in this thread but it is what I happen to be listening to today.

Although most people remember their massive hit "Let it Whip" but I think this is their best song. I saw them along with the Bar Kays and Evelyn "Champaign" King open for Kool and the Gang back in 1984.

Damn, that was a great concert!

Oh Girl - The Chi-Lites

They just don't make music like this anymore!
I absolutely love that style of older music. Chi-Lites, Dramatics, Delfonics, Blue Magic, Stylistics, Main Ingredient, etc. Fantastic time in music.
