What you listening to today?

The Talk Box is an amplifier and the speaker is "covered" and comes out through a tube that you put in your mouth and then the microphone picks up the sound that comes out of your mouth. They work, in a way, like the people who lose their voice box due to smoking.

And, Humble Pie is one of THE BEST rock bands ever. Steve Marriott is in the Top 5 list of all-time vocalists. I kinda prefer Humble Pie with Clem Clempson than Frampton, but it's close. Rockin' The Fillmore is an iconic rock album.

I have great appreciation and admiration for your post regarding HP. I always want to post 'Thirty Days' to represent their work, just a masterpiece of a tune but I think someone else did that quite a while back. If I could roll back time, one of the things I would try to make up for are concerts I wish I had taken in, and they are at the top of the list. I loved Steve Marriot and he would also be in my top five of vocals.

Curious if Paul Rogers is in your top five as well.

The Black Crowes released 30 Days in their 30th Anniversary box set. They recorded it during their SYMM sessions in 1989. I wore-out at least 2 SYMM cassettes.

They were Pie influenced, and The Faces, et al.

Paul Rodgers is absolutely up there in the top 5. Marriott was a little guy, like 5'4" or 5'5".

interesting, I always thought he was taller.
I want to say he was like 5'6" or so, but this was not too long after the live album, so he was still a big deal to meet. Just was surprised when he came up to me and my first thought was that he really did need security as my girlfriend of the time could have kicked his K. Fun times.

when I said 'someone else did that quite a while back.' I was saying some other poster posted '30 Days in the Hole' a while back in this thread. Not sure I got that across very well. I have never heard another version of '30 Days' and TBH, I might if I happen to run across one but nothing will detract from my reverence for the HP original. The Black Crowes you offered seems comparatively flat and lifeless, no offense...but then I'm not much of a BC fan.

I was lucky enough to catch Paul Rogers later in his career with Bad Company and he was as good in person as I hoped he would be. I always say he's the best rock vocalist.

One of my all-time favorite songs. I remember the first time I heard it. Took a while to figure out who sang it, back then it was on the radio and if you didn't hear it from the DJ you had to just hope to figure it out somewhere sometime
here's my other favorite bird song. Peter Green.

might be the most mellowing-out song ever.

I saw this dude Tuesday night at DPAC. Unreal talent. I recorded several songs on my phone. I wish I knew how to post them to the board. Damn, he was fuggin incredible.

first that I've heard of theirs (that I know of), and I like the Irish flavor of this tune. I got into Irish punk some years ago and even took in Flogging Molly at Roseland Ballroom in NYC, first and last experience with a mosh pit (yeah I got shoved around and my old stupid ass knocked somebody down and then my years of wisdom came to bear and told me to GTFO while I still could, Great fun while it lasted though). But I digress. I looked these guys up and I have to assume that most of their stuff is more C&W (or country rock). I'll be catching some more of them.

You gotta poast the links. That's what this thread is for - to turn people on to music they might otherwise never listen to. Especially because we got a bunch of young folks here that most likely have never heard of ARS. Me though, I'm a sucker for that yacht rock of the 70s and 80s.

I'm not a huge fan of them though. I don't know too much of their work. So Into You is such a great song. And I like Sky High and Alien too. I might would recognize another one or two of theirs. Like the one you poasted, I had heard it before just didn't know the name.

So now that I'm picking up the slack for you, I'm poasting So Into You because I like it better.

As for me, I don't know why, but I've been listening to The Police a ton lately. I think I heard a song of theirs somewhere on my Pandora and then just wanted to hear more. So for like a week, I've been listening to them a lot.

These are some of my favorites:

my first ever concert, in Carmichael. The Young Rascals. Still love this song.

Who the hell needs sleep anyways...
