Any recruiting news?

Look at what Roy and Mike Fox are paid with other
They've choosing to take a hometown discount. They can get paid more if they want. Dean didn't have a big salary either. And Roy makes a shit ton of money outside of his salary. Don't let the numbers fool you.

I will tell you something else...When Doren took over at state and they were going 0-8 and 2-6 in the league...The Students would be lined outside the gate waiting to get in....We don't have that and that's a fact.
So fan apathy shows that the admin doesn't care? What a dumb statement. I'm guessing you're ignoring what bubba is trying to do to fix that.

Um no. Carter was empty, they had horrible fan support aside from the FSU or Clemson. Until last yr, that place was often empty. Fans were tired of beating up james madison only to lose to boston college and they quit going.

The "rabidity" of their fanbase is overblown.

They'll pay what they need to if there isn't an alum to take the job.

So our Student section is packed and rasing hell before the game....
Fan apathy has nothing to do with the admin. Explain something for me. Why did the admin spend millions of dollars upgrading every sporting venue on campus if they don't care? You make yourself look stupid when you ignore facts.

Explain this to me...Why has dook had 1 before us and also state....talk to me

I will say this why didn't we do it before state and dook...
Do what, upgrade facilities? They were already better than both those schools. And if the admin has stopped caring why are they upgrading? You continue to ignore facts. Just an FYI for you, you can't dig your way out of a hole.

Dig out of what hole dummy...Talking facts dook has had a indoor field for a few years..

You make some good points. At LB, JP doesn't like to sub there, and even though Ekeler is the LB coach now, it's still JP's defense... The sub patters are kind of odd, though I thought were better a year ago. They sub the DL in fours and usually every few snaps, one thing is I'd like to see some guys stay out there a few more snaps if they are the better player and sub more situationally at other spots... The undersized things has changed. When they used a 4-2-5 they often had more guys on the field that weighed less than 200 pounds than they had guys on the field that weighed more than 200 pounds. The 70-41 loss at ECU may have been the game with the highest percentage of defensive reps in which that was the case.

I feel the same way AJ, seems like guys spend most of their time running on and off the field. It's not like we have pass rush specialist. Would like to see more DL subs on series changes than nearly every play. And at LB we just have to sub more and get guys reps. I think we're still on the smaller side. Drennon and Fox looked small to me compared to DEs on better teams. Need one 300 pounder up front in the middle at times.

Not to mention big guys running on and off the field, especially in the heat of September, likely take a similar toll as additional reps.

They are from TOS feel free to go on Google play and look through the archives from last season I promise it is there. Start at September 20 and go from there the podcast are approximately 30 minutes a piece. You will come on it. Jones Angell (voice of the tar heels) also discussed on the Carolinas insider if maybe maxing out during season was some of the cause for injuries. Although to be fair at that point I think we all were just in shock from all the I juries happening to these young men.

And I can assure you there's some truth to it.

And they would run when the gates open to get seats....It's a Culture thing man....

I covered N.C. State for almost as long as I've covered UNC and that's just not entirely true. The state student section almost always had empty seats for non-ACC games and league games when the team was late in a bad season. It wasn't the aluminum jungle that Kenan has been, but considering State is a larger school and is 60-40 male versus female and UNC is 60-40 female, I wouldn't say it's support is significantly greater among the students. Where State's support trumps Carolina's is with the older alums who sit through inclement weather and bad seasons filling their parts of the lower sections more than Carolina's do. Also, they are simply louder and can often be a 12th man.

It's those halftime trips out to the cooler AJ.

From my experience State fans are the quickest to give up on their team when things turn bad - which is usually shortly after their cupcake OOC ends. And a large percentage of State fans are happy if they simply beat us. Just remember, if we had beaten State in 2016, Duhrens gone, State isn't bowl eligible, and they probably tank. And maybe we are getting the recruits right now that MooU is getting. Last year was bad but I think the ending to 2016 is what put us in the downward spiral.

TOB used to complain all the time about the fans leaving at halftime. He often said one of the most important possessions in a game was the first series for each team of the second half, but half of State's fans were getting loaded in the parking lot. It ticked him off. I'd say more, but there's no need to.

So 4 quality recruits in the last week, right?
Simmons and Morales look like studs, Henderson is highly ranked, but Kenan is a bit of an unknown. Rutgers, Temple and UCF were his biggest offers.

Henry Baker recruited him to Rutgers, that's how we had an 'in' with him. So I guess we gotta trust Baker's instincts.

Sooo we got another nice piece for the wide receiver Corps today. We can get plenty of offensive players I want some defensive players

Until we can add real players on the defensive line this team isn't going anywhere. Guys weighing 260 pounds playing defensive tackle isn't going to get it done. We can't even get the good DT's in state to come to Carolina. We lost Clark to State this week.

I think defensive line is going to be a strength of ours this year

this is a key point in recruiting nowadays. people wonder why 4-star players go to schools where there are other 4-stars at their position, this is one reason -- they know they won't have to play non-stop for four years and be worn down and likely injured before they get to the nfl.
The main reason is that they want to win and know that the more 4and 5* recruits, the more likely the team is to win.

The most hardworking, undervalued recruits prefer to play for coaches like Bill Snyder for the same reason: winning.

I would have wanted to get the Gibbs brothers to UNC. QB Jackson Gibbs is leaving UCLA to head to App St, where his brother Miller will be a preferred walk on.

Why would I have acted to bring those brothers to Chapel Hill? To get Joe Gibbs to Chapel Hill and, hopefully, create a buzz.
