Robinson loved UNC from the first visit - the campus, the football staff and team, the facilities. It was just right for him.Somebody tell me something....Another GA kid...He is ranked high on some sites but not on rivals....
I'm actually very shocked by this. We need one good QB this cycle.Bailey Hockman has committed to FSU , no biggie we seem to be well stocked at QB.
I don't know if they are as stocked as we are , they lost the guy who punched the chick and they had to bring in the guy from ND this year. A lot of big time prospects seem to struggle at FSU.I'm actually very shocked by this. We need one good QB this cycle.
FSU is just as stocked at QB as we are.
They're stocked, the talent is just young.I don't know if they are as stocked as we are , they lost the guy who punched the chick and they had to bring in the guy from ND this year. A lot of big time prospects seem to struggle at FSU.
No state has come close to producing top spread QBs the way TX has.coaches no better than I, but unless Elliot seems like he won't be a good one, I think i'd focus my scholarships in other positions
welp, unless some other awesome QB comes along, I say we redshirt Chaz Surratt and also redshirt Logan Byrd unless he seems better than Nathan Elliot.
Only an unforeseen rash of injuries/suspensions would cause Logan and Chazz not to redshirt.I've read reports that Chazz has commented that he is planning on being red-shirted this fall.
Same here. I thought BH was a Heel for sure.I'm surprised we missed on Hockman. I thought he was close to committing last junior day.

Why 11?Same here. I thought BH was a Heel for sure.
And re: Nathan Elliott, do not sleep on this guy's potential. He could very well find himself starting a season for the Heels. Perhaps 2019 or even 2018 if he beats out Henderson. Also, Nathan has switched from #4 to #11 which is my favorite number, so I'm a little biased now!
I like recruiting 1 QB per class, and that can be met by redshirting 1of 2 from a double class.Agreed. We also have Anthony Ratliff-Williams who has moved over to WR but who reportedly also practices some at QB and could be called upon. He was a fairly high-rated QB. So it's hard to see why we'd take another QB absent some 5-star type of guy next year.
At this point in time, I can't even remember exactly why it first became my favorite number. But I've always been drawn to it. I always wore 11 when I played sports as a kid.Why 11?

We need bodies on the DL and OL.
Unless we have a rash of players who don't live up to their potential, we are going to be a force at OL for years to come. We've got that position group rolling, IMO.We're basically recruiting the OL for depth.
Yeah it seems that we just cannot get ahead when it comes to the front seven. Yes, we'll get some high-quality pieces in, but it always seems like we lose a couple studs to graduation at the same time we bring good ones in. We just cannot accrue enough quality or enough depth across the DLine and LBers. It's really frustrating. Our front seven makes me nervous.
Many years ago, when Mark Richt was the QB coach/OC at FSU, he said that he thought the best pattern for QB recruiting, if you could pull it off, was to sign a very highly rated QB in a class and in the next class sign a QB who is not nearly as highly rated but is a late developer and/or sleeper.I think the depth chart is a concern for prospective QBs looking for early playing time.

or lose them to reasons other than graduation. Every academic/other loss seems to be on the defense.Unless we have a rash of players who don't live up to their potential, we are going to be a force at OL for years to come. We've got that position group rolling, IMO.

Yep, it truly does seem that way. And in general, for whatever reason, DLmen seem to be the most academically at risk players each recruiting cycle.or lose them to reasons other than graduation. Every academic/other loss seems to be on the defense.
Hence a need to be very careful in recruiting for the DL. All the time and money spent on recruiting guys who may not get admitted, or are nearly certain to need special admissions (which means more likely to flunk out or at least face academic suspension), is time and money not spent on recruiting guys who can get admitted to UNC.Yep, it truly does seem that way. I mean yeah I agree to an extent, but you've got to have elite DLmen to win on the big stage, so it's sorta a catch-22 for us. I guess we have to hope for a couple of Lawlers every cycle who are strong on and off the field.Hence a need to be very careful in recruiting for the DL. Nor would I. And it's unfortunate because it's the one thing keeping this program from being elite.I wouldn't be surprised if it continues to nag us in the near term.
There had been several SEC people say satellite camps were coming for the SEC. If the SEC had not so indicated, the NCAA would have allowed the Big Ten to get away with it.NCAA just ruled that satellite camps aren't allowed. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned. That was a whole can of worms that I'm glad just got resealed.
The SEC actually did not want the camps. But they were prepared to fight fire with fire. The big should be thrilled with this ruling. There had been several SEC people say satellite camps were coming for the SEC. My point exactly. Once the SEC had several people talk publicly about satellite camps being arranged for next year, the NCAA acted. The SEC actually did not want the camps. But they were prepared to fight fire with fire. The big should be thrilled with this ruling.
Could you imagine, if say, Alabama started plopping these things all around the football recruiting hotbeds? It would all but shut out the big (and others) from recruiting those areas. My point exactly. Once the SEC had several people talk publicly about satellite camps being arranged for next year, the NCAA acted.
The NCAA used to share office space with the Big Ten - literally. The NCAA is the BT's whore. The NCAA ruled when ti did to protect the BT from a year of SEC get even strikes with that piece of midwestern hypocritical chicken shit.

You miss the point nicely. No - the conferences each had a vote - power 5 conf counted as two votes each - vote was 10-5 with 4/5 power 5 conf voting to ban them and 2/5 non-power conf voting similarly.
Outside of enforcement actions everything the NCAA does is by vote - sometimes by school and sometimes by conference. Folks want to imagine a detached and corrupt group of bureaucrats when it's all of our Univ Presidents and Conference Commissioners that are making the decisions in a democratic fashion.
Here's to hoping he spends 3-5 more years in Chapel Hill (and to hoping that UNC-covering publications write about him)
He's the kind of talent that will want to hit the NFL after 3 years and probably be ready. Here's to hoping he spends 3-5 more years in Chapel Hill (and to hoping that UNC-covering publications write about him)
