We’ll see. I know if you gave me the choice, I’m going w/Sharpe all day, he’s a beast & better than Bacot right now. JMO.
I think Armando will improve greatly from this year to the next but make no mistake Sharpe is a beast and he's going to earn serious playing time.
I think Love and Davis start together day one...
I agree. I think that’s the starting backcourt, just not sure if it’ll be game one or game ten but that’ll be the backcourt.
You think that Platek is starting at the 2 guard? First off Love and RJ are capable of playing in the backcourt together. Secondly, Platek is not coming close to starting because he’s just not very good. He’s supposed to be a shooter and he shot under 23% from 3 this season. Not to mention he gets destroyed on the defensive end, is not a very good athlete and is a less than average ball handler. With the influx of talent next year, I would be surprised if Platek gets more than a few minutes a game.
We're on the same page, fellas. Simply listing the roster.
Specifically, I believe the ultimate starting lineup will be:
Love
Davis
Leaky
Brooks
Bacot
From there, I am aware that Kessler is more of the stretch 4 on offense, but I actually think he and Sharpe swap on defense when they play together. Meaning, Sharpe defends the 4 and Kessler mans the middle.
Don't forget Mando was a McAA and top 20 recruit. We've seen players struggle to acclimate to ACC play their first year then break out in year 2. We saw some serious glimpses by Mando, especially his rebounding and shot blocking.
I think he seriously improves...although Covid may keep him off campus this summer which I do not think is great for his development specifically. As long as he's working at home - I expect very big things Sophomore season.
...with all that said, Sharpe is a freaking monster. Good freaking luck doing anything inside against us next year.

Bacot had a good freshman season and showed flashes of potentially being very good. He needs to work on his footwork and develop a go to shot down low, and I think he will.
Sharpe is a beast. He will help make the other bigs better but he may hurt a few feelings along the way. I wouldn’t trade Brooks, Bacot, Sharpe, and Kessler for any other team’s frontline. Hey combine size, strength, and talent.
Man you guys should read some of the stuff on cat authority. They are ready for Sean to be gone. Their recruiting class by their standards is a disaster they aren't getting Walton, and Louisville just poached a grad transfer from them yesterday and Louisville wasn't even in the players top sevin. Its border line packpride misery

But the mod was so convinced that I got the info from a paid source he edited for me then asked me not to rain on the kids parade in a private message. I think Sharpe is probably the most under rated of the incoming class. Most NBA level talent and athletism coming in. Love is nice, but if Sharpe was on a team that was not filled with such high level talent and was on a team where he could have been "The Man" you would have seen some ridiculous numbers from him. The only question I have for him is the learning curve. You have seen the system eat up kids that show up and cant get it. Mostly defensive issues. Seventh was a victim of having crazy hype coming in but couldnt figure out where to go on defense. I think I baptize Sharpe by fire and let him figure it out cuz he reminds me so much of a junior Brice Johnson. although bigger and stronger. It would be hard to bring a bigger, stronger, Junior Brice Johnson and him not be a starter for this team. All that is keeping him from being the man is the depth chart and his brain. Hopefully he can pick it up early, and contribute from the start.
Agree with a lot of what you say AJ except for the Brice comparison. I think Brooks is much closer to the kind of player that Johnson was and he actually plays the same position. I would say Sheed is a better comparison for Sharpe but that's just my opinion. I'm probably wrong. Haven't seen Day'Ron shoot that many jump shots.

Yep!!!! I was told that the day before Ziaire Williams decided he was going to announce, that Roy and Kerwin had a long phone call and Kerwin told him he was committed to being a Heel and would announce April 25th!!!
I love getting this tidbit, but I hesitate to celebrate too much since I agree that we should not rain on the kids' parades! Hopefully, the kid will really enjoy pulling his hat out of a bag or whatever they do now and then enjoy the fruits of becoming Family!

Maybe I'm reading between the lines a bit much here, but was Ziaire's announcement spurred by Walton's alledged commitment? Either way, glad to have Walton aboard if this is true.
No, I think he wanted to stay West Coast. He loved UNC and Roy, but didnt want to go that far. I do believe Roy helped his decision to go to Stanford and vogued for Haase.
He did indeed but it was a huge coincidence that he announced his commitment right after huff and right after Walton. His parents loved Roy and before this virus we had a real shot.
Tough time to be convinced of sending your kid 3,000 miles from home, especially when you were already trepidatious about it.
I hope Jerod has a great season with Williams. I really want to see Haase do well at Stanford.
I saw another video of Sharpe the other day and the kid is simply a man amongst boys. To think he was ranked outside the top 100 about a year and a half ago is unreal. He’s come so far so quickly. Incredible hands, runs the floor like a deer, strong as hell and a mean streak to go along with it. Combine that with the offensive skill set of Kessler, the improvement made by Brooks and the improvement you would think Bacot will hopefully make, this frontline is going to be scary. Just like Roy likes it.
I am no shot doctor, but does anyone else notice some side spin on Walton's shot? That shouldn't happen right? That said he seems like a very solid addition to the class. Great size for a SG (In a few years he is going to be built!), seems to know where to be on the court and has nice touch.
I saw his tweet also. Responding to the claim that it’s going to be soon and uva is the favorite. That wouldn’t surprise me (if it’s uva) but would if it’s soon.
I know Keels is from Fairfax, but I can’t see him going to Uwe Vee Aye! Why would any OAD, especially a SG needing to put up big numbers ever go to the turtle offensive school! Unfortunately he seems to be more of a KRat type! Hope I’m wrong as we’ll still be in urgent need of a true SG next year!
My brother goes to the same school as Terrance Clark. Apparently it’s just rumor.
I viewed recent interview with Walton and said he has not decided yet. It did not sound like he committed or it's a done deal. Still might be a Tar Heel, but stated he has not made a decision as of yet.
