Coronavirus

Who said anything about personality? Just look at legislation or politifical outcomes under Trump and look at his hires and advisors.
Here's some easy ones. I will state up front that you can quibble with implementation or methodology, but are you arguing that we should still be fighting in Afghanistan and we as a country are better off with completely wide open borders versus making immigrants knock on the door and ask to come in?

Are you in favor of judges making up law as we go in response to a vocal minority or having it go through the legislative process of congressional drafting/approval and implementation by our presidents (both bodies that have to answer to the electorate versus lifetime appointed federal judges)?

No, we should've gotten out of Afghanistan forever ago since nation-building there is impossible.
No, immigrants need to be funneled thru tight gates, those gates need to be really well-staffed so we can process the immigrants quickly and humanely to help folks desperately seeking real asylum or quickly booting those we don't have room for.

One of my bil’s, his wife, and two sons all contracted it with his wife hospitalized Christmas Day. They were all unvaxxed. She thought she had a cold. Had been to Christmas eve service night before and spent a lot of time last week with my 80 year old mil (who claims immunity and refuses to be tested). Christmas morning she was having difficulty breathing and they went to er. Seems to be responding to meds thankfully. No one else shows symptoms.

hope your family comes thru it. 65+ and those with weak immune systems (especially if they've had pneumonia and/or prone to respiratory issues) should absolutely be vaxxd.

Covid will be like a stubbed toe compared to bird flu:

Maybe this is some Biblical/Revelation thing, given the location!

Seems like it's pretty obvious that a mandate would put people in a "tight spot."
Right and unions are a pretty strong force so it will be interesting to see how long it is in place, or how enforced, etc. Supposed to take effect today

I now have 2 relatives who have died due to chyna virus. Unvaxxed cousin of my mom, checked into hosp Fri nite, died last Tuesday (covid peneumonia). Early 70's. Crazy as f#ck, super prone to believing conspiracy, covid-denier. But also crazy in a fun way, he was a really good dude. Grew up in joco, retired in emerald isle just a few yrs ago....

"Look, there is no federal solution," Biden said in response to a question from Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. "This gets solved at the state level."

How does this get reconciled with the narrative that has been endlessly pushed that Orangeman should have solved this with some simple national health policy decisions? The Great Unifier was supposed to kick this thing in the a$$ and have us all singing in harmony by now. If Joe is admitting that he can't ultimately solve this, can you now concede that trumpie couldn't stop it either and this was just a politically motivated spin to get anybody but trump in office regardless of the true/false reasons?

LOL, there's a great headline on an article from Microsoft's news feed that sums up Joe Biden quite nicely, particularly with his answer to the Afghan fiasco and now this in his contention that he could not have anticipated another Covid variant.......to paraphrase, he asks the question, 'How could I have known about what so many other people knew about?' The epidemiologists have been warning since the beginning that variants were probable.

I tried to warn that he is nothing but a politicking gasbag, saying whatever it takes to make it sound like there's something inside that empty shell. And it's really very apparent, you don't even have to know about his history of plagiarizing in place of the original thinking that he doesn't possess. Unreal how naive people are, to have voted for this fool.

Anybody who knows how to say the right things can become president. And before the usuals chime in to point out that this applies to others, I defy them to compare Trump fighting through pure obstructionism to accomplish his stated goals to Biden fighting through the mental fog to find the front door of the White House.

I am really sorry to see this, but the "crazy in a fun way" gave me a huge smile as it reminded me of a few relatives of my own. Sadly, they were lost long before covid with heart issues, cancer, pneumonia, etc. While I am totally in the camp against government control in our lives, for the life of me I can't come up with a really good reason why people won't get vaxxed. I completely understand wanting to make the decision on your own, but unless you have a medical basis (or even prior infection/recovery for natural immunity), especially at this point, I just don't get it.

At least Biden tried some stuff (vaccine rollout, vax mandates, mask mandates in airports & fed bldgs, buying tests).

Trump didn't even try, if anything he tried to make it worse. In contrast Orangeman downplayed it, tried to limit testing, handicapped the CDC, politicized masking, didn't promote vaccination til 2 yrs, pushed hydroxychlorine without good scientific reason, lied about his positive test creating super-spreader events.

Lots of businesses & orgs are self-locking-down (canceled flights or sports games for ex). So Biden clearly didn't shut COVID down. At least he didn't claim mexico was going to pay for the eradication.

Biden is def failing to live up to some promises.

In other words, and since you diverted and distracted, you hate orange so much you just can't bring yourself to simply say that the demands for him to implement a federal policy to shut it down were false since Joe has now admitted that it can't be done.

You brought Trump narrative into your question, inviting comparison.

Regarding Biden's specific statement it was 100% hyperbole political bullshit to claim he could totally shutdown COVID.

But at least he tried 'something' fed-side.

LOL, got the fastest ever development and approval of a vaccine but he didn't promote it until two years? How does that work? Did he keep it secret?

He gets the vaccine while hiding this fact from the public eye in early Jan and doesn't admit it publicly til late April. He's given repeated opportunity to push the vaccine and really doesn't do it til just recently.

Waaay too much time for antivaxxers to make the vaccine a political issue.

Here is a perfect example of your "facts" and the problem of relying on them to support and push the agenda of orangeman bad. This is a an NBC News article from yesterday. The covid porn headline screams "Child Covid hospitalizations are up, especially in 5 states". Technically, they aren't lying, but it is completely misleading and false from the real situation.

They indicate that "children hospitalized with Covid-19 jumped 52 percent, from a low of 1,270 on Nov. 29 to 1,933 on Sunday", as compared to adults who only increased 29 percent. The article goes on to emphasize this aspect implying that omicron is devastating to kids because the rates have doubled and it's increased so much faster than adults. The deception, however, is two-fold.

First, they fail to point out that the 1,933 hospitalized is out of our entire country of 330 million with 73 million under the age of 18. This works out to a hospitalization rate of .00000026. That's hardly worthy of a mention, let alone a scare tactic headline. Second, the art of the deception is in the language choice. Look at the quote above again. It's "children hospitalized WITH Covid-19". Buried towards the end of the article is a doctor's quote that they are testing every single person who comes in the door for covid. You could have a broken finger and the first thing they do is swab you for covid. And, he specifically says that while they have seen an increase in positive tests, they have NOT seen an increase of child admittance as a result of covid.

In other words, the headline is completely false and totally misleading to support the msm agenda and clicks. Child Covid hospitalizations are not up. Children who come to the hospital for everything else (and are asymptomatic) who happen to test positive are up. That's a completely different thing. But some, you know who you are, will run around screaming that this is impacting children at a rate of increase of 52 percent.

Can you imagine the increase in cases if hospitals started automatically tested every child for heart problems, cancer, diabetes, etc. regardless of the reason for their hospitalization? We'd have an epidemic of every single thing they tested.

let me make sure I understand what you're saying. You're bashing Trump for not promoting a vaccine that didn't yet exist, while refusing to acknowledge that it was in lightning speed development and approval due largely to his efforts? That those efforts applied to getting a vaccine available don't amount to the promotion of there being one available for the common good? That he failed because he didn't go around door-to-door like your boy Biden saying 'there's a vaccine now, let's go ahead and take it'? That he didn't somehow disallow 'anti-vaxxers' from making a personal choice as we are famously allowed to do in America? That he wasn't recently simply voicing his personal opinion about the worth of taking the vaccine, but was rather staging some belated obligatory promotional campaign? That there could be any doubt to begin with regarding his approval and promotion of a product that he ramrodded through the normal process to provide?

Is there any limit whatsoever to your ridiculousness?

LMAO

Wasn't everyone already being tested? It would make sense to test for it when you are around people who are already sick. This doesn't seem to be anything new.

Don't miss the point, but Yes. Testing certainly not new. It's the headline and even the article that this is something they are trying to present as new.

Omicron, like all covid, sucks. But what is becoming very clear is that while highly, highly contagious, it is not nearly as severe or threatening to the vast majority of our population. This article tries to paint a portrait that this is a huge threat to children, which would then mean all of the other fallout from that concept. The actual evidence suggests otherwise. In other words, had Johnny not crashed his bike and broke his finger, he'd never know that he technically had covid. Universal testing without context is not news.

Dude, this is such a clickbait headline.

...in the face of the newest variant with almost no death rate and a hospitalization rate lower than the common cold (slightly higher for 65+ age group).

Duke hospitals are 90% full but less than 5% of those folks are Covid patients. this potential mandate is complete and total insanity.

On another point hospital's capacity isn't based on beds or rooms being full or empty they are based on staff availability to care for who is in the rooms. So when you start firing qualified staff because they don't want to take the vaccine or bosters you create their own capacity issues.

Remember they were heros 18 months ago, now they are trash because they don't want to comply. This is the most evil thing the government has ever taken part in! When you ignore the science of natural immunity because you just want to force people to take the vaccine thats a serious issue, and I don't care where anyone stands on the issue.

The minute they turned this from a health and safety issue to a political football we all suffer!

I guess you mean when Trump made it political by pushing through the development of vaccines for people to choose to take, as we've been told. What an outrageously political thing to do. Can't believe he'd endeavor to provide us with a vaccine just to make an issue of. (sarcasm hopefully understood)
