I wouldn’t advise doing that here in Asheville. You might catch a used syringe in the foot.

I grew up in Asheville. Parents had a shop dontown. We went back over the holidays and walked around downtown and were aggressively panhandled numerous times. We’re talking won’t take no for an answer. Insisting you got something for them. Finally had to tell a couple to fuk off.

Any time someone starts talking about chowder, I immediately think of this

Damn that’s obnoxious. They don’t usually even try with me but maybe I just look like an asshole

At least I know how to spell *poast correctly.
It's funny that you mention this because it's one of those things that never has looked right to my eye, so I tried to find the answer. A quick search revealed that:

The online version of Merriam-Webster dictionary says that the correct spelling when publishing something to an online forum such as a message board is the verb "post". If you look up the word "poast", they say it does not exist in the dictionary. On the other hand, the Urban dictionary says that the word "poast" is the same as a "post" but it is particularly applicable when one is deliberately boasting about their post. They give the example "Don't worry, he's just being a poaster." Now we know.

The post/poast thing is a long running joke here. So is dammit/damnit and the use of tl;dr. GFY is also a common reply that is almost always used in a funny way. You're welcome for the tips.

TL;DR

It might be a study of the obvious, but a study showed masking was making people be perceived as more attractive. Is that why I enjoyed trips to Target more the last yr or so? Women in yoga pants down low and masks up top?

You will have to wait a while for replies. Most are in shock that you are checking out women.

That's pretty funny and, yet, disturbingly sad. Hiding someone's face makes them more attractive?? That must be a tough Target that you target.

just science i guess. It's like all the "she's got pretty eyes" comments for a person with poor tooth to gum ratio.

And, when considering the politics of "masking" in general, I've also got to add that I'm always going to question the predisposition of the study and those behind it. But I'm sure I just never really considered the situation of that really hot girl you finally got naked and you hand her a mask to make her even more "attractive". Sure, that's it.

The study just left out a few words apparently. What they meant to say is "masking was making UGLY people be perceived as more attractive." Imagine if you shopped at Walmart instead of Target???
