Your mandatory mask order went into effect on June 24th. CV generally has a lag time of about 2-3 weeks when you figure those who get symptoms, then get tested, then get test results back.
Tomorrow makes 3 weeks to the day. I wouldn't have expected the numbers to be impacted by this order anywhere inside of that timeframe. Your testing has gone up from about 15,000 per day to about 25,000 per day in that timeframe so obviously you'll see more positives.
The next 3 weeks will be telling. Deaths will go up cuz the lag time on that is another 2-3 weeks but cases per test, if the state is wearing masks and socially distancing throughout this 6 week process, should be down by the end of the month.

I say this because from what he's been saying in here he definitely doesn't think the virus is a potent as some here, the media, some doctors do. Which is totally fine and reasonable. But instead of being a little pussy and going "ohhh I'm not wearing this thing, it takes away my freedom, it's uncomfortable, blah blah"...he says who cares and puts it on. It sounds like he has actual real things to care about and not something as easy as putting on a mask.
It's easy getting people who think the virus is legit to wear masks.
Getting the entire country to just wear them for 6 weeks when they're not in their house (which the CDC chair says will "drive the epidemic into the ground") requires those who don't necessarily agree with it to just do it and realize they are pussies for being fake mad about it and they are losing absolutely nothing by wearing a mask.

Reasonable educated people such as him can disagree on a lot concerning the virus and it’s def been a learn as we go type of thing in some regards. But At this point, knowing what we do now, the ONLY reason not to wear a mask aside from the minuscule fraction that can’t due to health reasons is to make a political statement. Iirc He speculated northerners coming down Memorial Day weekend might be partly responsible for the surge In new cases in the south due to some southern states reopening resataurants and bars and no one wearing masks at the time. Seems plausible.
