Is there a chance Hicks gets drafted in the second round? I see on some of these so called mock drafts that he is on some at around 50th chosen. While that means it's not guaranteed money it would give him a chance to find somewhere to further develop and get paid some. That would be great for him. Good luck Mr. Hicks. We will be pulling for you.

Hicks was a tremendous Heel and I'm very thankful for his contributions to our program. In saying that, his NBA career will be short lived if there is one. Hicks basketball IQ will be his downfall, specifically on the defensive end. He also is a below average rebounder and his height isn't great given his limited offensive skill set. There are 2's and 3's his size in the NBA who can shoot from all over the court and create off the dribble. Hicks isn't that guy.

He may get drafted in the 2nd round... But it will be tough for him to translate to the NBA. Not a talent thing but a basketball IQ thing. To me he physically can belong in the NBA... But NBA is a ball screen and an off the ball screen league. Hicks will get eaten alive by all that in the NBA.

Solid career in Europe though. Wouldn't shock me if he has a cup of coffee in the NBA. Just no staying power. Hell I think Meeks has more staying power since he has a NBA skill: rebounding.

I hope so! i'd be quite surprised though. He can't shoot from outside, he's not a good rebounder or shot blocker, and he's not a great man defender. I don't see what NBA skills he would really bring as a role player.

Straight hustle player. Needs a go to move badly on offense. On defense just hope he either steals or blocks it because he has one more move and that is to foul. Watched this kid for four years butcher opposing players. Lol.

Hicks has always been athletic, but this season it gave you glimpses as to why the NBA might give him a shot. Danny Green IMO was a 2-3 years tops in the NBA, and only Lawson "maybe" can argue that he has had a better NBA career out of the Tarheels who were in that draft.

Who knows, best case scenerio he looks at Tristan Thompson's game and try to mimick it the best he can.

I think we are underestimating the man's heart. He is a hard worker that improved steadily in his D. How many games did he foul out this year.? I bet he makes a roster and stays a bit as he learns how to apply his athleticism to the pro game!

look im all for a feel good story but if you look at the last 4 years competition and body of work, he just doesn't warrant an NBA pay check and there's NOTHING wrong with that. he can make a living playing basketball overseas, a really nice living actually. great kid. great heart. but his NBA level attributes are lacking greatly in every phase of the game.

Reminds me a little bit of McAdoo going into the draft. I think he could have about that level of career, which would be great, or he could end up in Europe, which would also be pretty cool. Hicks will be fine.

Nbadraft.net has him at number #50. Haven't seen him on others. Has the athleticism to play in the league. Has shown glimpses of a decent jump shot. I could see him making a roster.

Hicks can absolutely shoot from outside, a skill of his a lot of people haven't noticed, mostly since it wasn't needed, or going to be used in our offense. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Hicks shooting (and making) some 3's if he makes an NBA roster & gets some burn.
