Marquette PF/C Dawson Garcia

If you thought the last 4 years were awful, I can't imagine what you think of us now with a dementia riddled imbecile and his radical left puppet masters creating division at every turn and kowtowing to minority groups terrorizing Americans on the backs of a myth.
Thanks but i'll ride it out, it's a relief not having a deranged hate monger crowding the TV camera every single day and it's politics not sports. We don't need to agree. Unfortunately most would blindly pull for their side regardless of the hate and injustice that side supports and stands for. That you can't admit the last resident of the White House was an absolute sham in terms of the way he carried himself, the way he made us look on the international stage and the division he stoked in this country not to mention having absolutely no clue what he was doing and lying his way through his lies- you are blinded either by your proud and unquestionable party loyalty or simple old man hate no matter how old you are. You can't understand why there is a groundswell of revolt from groups who have taken it for decades - women, minorites of all sorts be it ethnic, religious, sexual orientation- that one your side voted in made it fashionable to hate and the result was push back from these groups... The harder you get pushed, the harder you push back: it is a basic tenet of the human condition. No... It isnt all acceptable by everyone on the left and your steadfast belief that everyone on the left is happy with it is just a security blanket. These groups are in the sun now but even they know it's PC bullshit until something actually changes and if you aren't in a minority group, you don't get it you just push back because it's uncomfortable. Until people are truly equal, the forces that oppress them are in the wrong. I can't support a man who is an absolute joke and who was the catalyst behind much of this revolt. I'm sure anything he did or said that didn't set 100% with you was just "fake news" = convenient. President Biden is nowhere near my favorite choice but at least he has some semblance of leadership amongst politicians who are all woven with thread tinged with corruption. Sadly you can throw stones, swig the rage-o-hol, keep the balls the neighborhood kids throw in your yard all you want as you know no matter what you'd have voted for that last one again even if the greatest beacon of hope was the other choice because, again... politics in this country are now sporting events. Love the side you support regardless of what the do as long as your team is winning and hate the other side no matter what. We're all getting older and regardless of how hard you yell at clouds the younger generation who are more plugged in, sharper and more capable than we were will take over soon and by and large the majority of them aren't woven with hate cloth and won't stand for do nothing good old boy bullshit nor do they vote based simply on what color tie the candidate wears.

The Illini are the ones I'm concerned about in this one. They have an opening at the four (from what I read). That being said, If I were a fan of U of A🙄 or Illinois, I'd be most concerned with UNC.

I think at this point, after getting Garcia on campus, I like our chances.

Hubert wants guys who WANT to be at Carolina... here is his chance.

I realize there are tons of people that will buy stuff because it has a player's name on it but just not my thing. I haven't bought anything with the swoosh on it in over 20 years. Plain light blue t-shirt - $5.00.. add the swoosh - $35.00. No thanks.
I don't particularly like Nike's running shoes at all - they just don't work for me, and their other athletic clothing is way overpriced, compared to other just-as-good or often-better quality clothing (running shorts, shirts, etc) for 50% of the price or less. Easy decision. And Nike's price gouging comes with them being maybe the most unethical China slave labor abuser company out there. Crazy. I get that they have a lot of overhead and big salaries to cover in Nike Corp.

@uncfootball- I don't know why this popped into my head with your post - to each his / her own, and I don't mean this as "stockiness shaming" but I just need to catch myself from laughing out loud when you see a person at the horse race track, ball park, amusement park, etc...clearly 50+ pounds overweight....wearing a Nike (or Under Armour, or other athletic apparel company) t-shirt. I just think: wow - is your Nike or Under Armour gear what gave you your great physique? I just find it humorous. They aren't really a great ambassador for the company, product, lifestyle, as they are downing their seventh beer to wash down the curly cheese fries and the funnel cake. Why do they feel an allegience to do free advertising for these companies anyway?

I do have one - maybe two t-shirts for Hoka shoes or Asics shoes, that were free to me...

and a few more that have small Asics or Hoka or Adidas, etc logos somewhere on the shirt, but that is because they are the company that printed the t-shirt, with a much larger race theme on it, like a Boston Marathon or London maration or NYC marathon large print / theme.

That was nonsensical word salad. Or as I like to call it, complete bullshit that weak minded sheep say because they’re either (1) virtue signaling or (2) simply parroting what their puppet masters have told them. Keep eating your blue pills.

But you’re right about one thing, you keeping poking the bear, you get what you get. You liberal idiots better make hay while you can. Your stay in power will be short despite having the media in your back pocket.

Wrong board, but well said.

I do wish you'd insert some paragraph breaks though. Maybe not as often as I do, but at least occasionally?

The problem with it of course is that it’s a faulty premise. The laws in this country are written to protect everyone the same and offer the same opportunities to all. So all that poorly written virtue signaling that followed is rubbish.

Actually, that is exactly what he said, that he would prefer a high school or AAU coach over a guy that had only head coached the UNC JV team. Hubert had been an assistant at UNC for how long before he was named head coach so to suggest he has less experience handling the "attitudes" of college players is silly. Hubert's experience is way more applicable to what a head coach needs in order to direct a college program than pretty much any high school or AAU coach.
And YOU asserted that he meant he would rather the program be ran like an AAU program, which is NOT what he said

take your meds before you come on here and post gramps

Between Manek and Garcia, I wonder which would be better coming off the bench? That might determine who starts. I'm assuming Armando starts, so he doesn't enter the equation.

Brady shot better (37.5%) and more often (128 attempts) from deep than Dawson. That suggests that Brady might be more effective coming off the bench. But Dawson wasn't bad (35.6% and 73 attempts), so it might turn on other factors.

1) If you're using the Matrix red pill blue pill analogy... If I'd taken the blue pill in November Id've voted for Trump. I clearly wanted change. Keep up with your analogies...
2) If you're using the other blue pill analogy, not all of us need help keeping that up.
Whatever pill you are describing swallowing, here are some truth pills that are hard to swallow:

:

Truth Pill #1: More women, more blacks, more hispanics, more Jewish people, more gay persons cast votes for DJT in 2020 than for any other Republican US presidential candidate of any party in history. Hatred revolt indeed.

Why is this? just taking race relations into account as an example...
Truth pill #2: set aside the media-whipped-up frenzy of falsehoods about DJT being a hater..
(disclaimer: I don't even like his personality or lack of tact or intelligence, public persona, outsized unwarranted ego, exaggerations)...

DJT did more for black and hispanic communities than any president in at least the last 50 years (yes, including all-talk no-action Obama): regarding employment, wages, border security, HBCU support and funding, black and hispanic owned business support and funding, supporting police / fighting crime.

Oh look, something else you got wrong. The blue pill analogy speaks to those that are happy to serve their masters. Trump, the outsider was changing the political landscape, calling out establishment politicians on both sides. He wasnt nice about it and I’m sorry he hurt your delicate feelings. But f*ck your feelings. I don’t have to care about your feelings. And rest assured, I don’t.

Now you’re doing it right. You see that you were wrong and you’re tucking tail and running. Smart decision.

Enjoy your Independence Day weekend. Might be the last one we get to publicly celebrate.

Trump was appealing to the religious status quo, the white supremacist status quo, the economic status quo, the anti-immigrant status quo, and the anti-science status quo. He made multiple demographic majorities and power holders feel like victims and then played their victimhood into an election win.

Once in power, he delivered on his real agenda - tax cuts for the rich and protection of corporate profits - and continued to stoke fear, enflame resentment, and spread lies.

People interested in real change and a better America backed Bernie in 2016 and 2020, or Lizzie in 2020.

Nope. Just hoping that the site I come to to escape the rediculousness (from both sides) could stay on topic for once.

Perhaps I'll venture over to Fox.com or CNN to see if anyone there wants to talk Carolina hoops.

For the record, we can thank our Canadian friend for turning this thread political. And even after I warned against it, Geth couldn’t help himself.

White supremacist? Lulz. Looks like you bought that trite, manufactured bullshit too.

Yes, I’m sorry Trump favored Americans over illegal immigrants. What a jerk! You know, they’re called “illegal” immigrants for a reason.

Bernie? Hahahaha.

"Youre tucking tail and running. Smart decision." Is that some sort of threat grandpa? I'm not familiar with the brand of stupidity you're attempting to pedal but this is an anonymous message board. That I didn't respond immediately I apologize... Some of us have lives and jobs and aren't pottering around shaking hurry-canes at kids and chasing them down on a Rascal scooter on the way to the pharmacy to pick up this year's supply (one) of blue pills. Keep that lil' gun holstered buckaroo.

DO WE STILL HAVE MODERATORS ON THIS BOARD??!!!!
We need moderators who do 3 things:

1. Issue warnings for bad behavior or excessive off-topic comments.

2. Give people time outs for improper posts if they don't heed warnings, or if the posts are exceptionally inappropriate.

3. Move all political comments to a special thread on the OOTB board, perhaps entitled "Dumps from Tar Heel Radar."

#3 sounds like too much work, otherwise I'd volunteer.

That said, I bet the "Dumps from Tar Heel Radar" thread would be a hoot. Partly because they would be somewhat context free.

You know, they’re called “illegal” immigrants for a reason.
We'll it isn't because they are illegal. People can't be illegal.

They are called that because the GOP and others on the right cleverly manufactured that phrasing to manipulate how people view those who struggle to come to America for a better life.

So much more damming to call them "illegals" - as opposed to "people without proper documentation." So much easier to manipulate already-existing prejudices and hate. After all, "illegal" is very bad by definition, whereas "lacking the necessary paperwork" is more like jaywalking.

Garcia would be the perfect addition to this team! He would fit in perfectly and would be all we need to make a deep run at contending in the ACC and NCAA! My concern is twofold.
1. What has Hubs already said, implied to Manek? Will he look at this as recruiting over him or is he the type to welcome anyone who makes the team better while planning to outwork or outplay Garcia to a starting spot?
2. Will Garcia accept the idea that he isn't promised anything other than an opportunity to earn PT! And which is more important to him; showcasing or winning?

I hope he pops for us because it sets us up for a special season and shuts up the naysayers!

Hopefully his visit goes well.

We could really use some additional depth in the post.

I hope we get a commitment from him in the coming days.

If only school were in... nothing like Carolina Girls on campus in sun dresses on a beautiful day to sway a young man's decision.

Hopefully he takes "the blue pill".

We have a process to come to America. If you do not follow the correct process, you have entered our country …wait for it…illegally. Therefore, one who emigrates to this country illegally is…go ahead and shout it out if you know it…an “illegal immigrant”. I don’t know how much simpler to make it for you.

And I’m officially throwing my hat in the ring for the position of moderator.

Illinois does make a lot of sense for him, I think Arizona's roster fits him nicely as well. Manek being such a similar player and already in the fold is the biggest thing working against UNC.

Hopefully they can convince him that the minutes and the style of play is there for both he and Manek. Would love for him to choose UNC.

Since we are incapable of talking about politics with any semblance of rational thought, why don't we talk basketball? Take the discussions to OOTB and leave the rest of us in peace! And If you are going to disagree, why does the other side have to be demonized?

I know I was pretty vocal in the past and everyone knows I have some strong views on these subjects so.......if I can resist this oh so easy to enter argument, why can't the rest of you?

Are we Tar Heels or not? Seems a freakin' Family could attempt to be civil, but at least could simply let a few things go!

Come into my safe space and talk hoops my friends!

I'll know when you're close because those Rascal motors are notoriously loud. That and the rattling of blue pills in your pill organizer will be a dead give away. BTW if you make a threat or even have inclination to do so on an anonymous message board you don't have the equipment to need blue pills.
