well that's even worse if u meant to reference that post. Yea "none" is 100% accurate unless u wanna link an article about the time an ncaa official threw a title game.
Are you just so dense that you can't comprehend that I have never said anyone threw a game? I am saying that some refs are biased and you can't prove bias but it shows up in their calls. Do you also not think 1,000's of people haven't been biased against UNC over the last few years with the scandal? . Do you also think NONE of those 1,000's are NCAA refs?

Meanwhile the premise of the responses concerns blaming the refs for the loss. So instead of jumping into the middle of conversations and taking stuff outnof context why dont u say how u feel about that! Were the refs unfair (whether by ncaa decree, mafia influence, personal bias, alien mind control, etc) and caused the loss? Yes or no? I say no.

Actually, there aren't very many who think we got "completely hosed". HMW and Billy are blowing that way out of proportion. There are many who think the officiating was one sided. You stated Villanova got slightly more calls yourself. I just disagree with the adjective you used, I think they got significantly more calls. Again, I don't think the refs conspired to fix the game. I do think one ref in particular had a personal agenda against UNC. There were a couple of refs that Dean hated to see call one of our games. There are a couple that make me cringe when I see they're going to call one of our football games(Ron Cherry for one). Stephens is one of those in basketball.
HMW and Billy routinely exaggerate and play devil's advocate in order to roil the waters. It's their schtick. They're constantly talking about conspiracy theorists but in actuality, there aren't that many here. Again, they blow it all out of proportion. It's destroyed their credibility.
You said what you said to the whole board it doesn't matter who you were responding to directly , so don't waste your time with technicalities. YES I feel the game was officiated very one sided and I don't care if it was only a 4 difference in fouls called. Our bigs were not allowed to play at all and their guys were allowed to push and hold all game , especially that douche Archidadeo or what ever his name was. That's my opinion and if you don't like it you can kiss Billy L's azz.
There's one thing you can count on. If HMW or any of the other 3-4 members of the OOTB clique post that the earth is flat, the others will "like" his post. I sometimes wonder if they even read the post before they do, or if they have a program which automatically "likes" each other's posts, regardless of content.

Know whats funny? We rarely agree on anything but have fun pushing each others buttons about it. Guess we're secure enough in our beliefs to withstand dissent. But despite the fact we rarely all agree on anything from cereal to politics to religion to craft beer, we do mostly all agree on this one certain thing and that's what brings most of us to post in here. I'll let u guys figure that out.
I can at least agree to disagree with most of those guys, a couple not. That's really all I ask of a poster. I like dissenting opinions, I learn from them. This would be a boring site if we all agreed on everything.
So interesting article on this two minute report on ESPN where they asked Steve Kerr about the missed travel call the other night on Westbrook. I agree with what he said, its nice they are trying to be transparent, but its just throwing refs with an impossible job under the bus. Calls are going to be missed both ways, dwelling on it doesn't help.

Just out of curiosity, who would those posters be? I've never been in a clique before, so if I am one of them maybe I can put it on my resume.
The only way to improve the officiatin imo is to go to full time officials. But thats not gonna happen.
The officials in the final four were considered the 12 best thru a process that went all season long. They officiated hundreds of games this year and averaged 20 years experience. The best 300 or so were nominated by their conferences to go to the tourney. This was narrowed by regional advisers and the coordinator for officials breaking down film and 100 were chosen. They then advanced thru the tourney like the teams did. They were evaluated and graded and the best performers advanced. What we were left with for the final four were the twelve best officials out of about 800. Being stupid and/or biased to The point that it affects your calls in any game, nevertheless the most important game of your officiating career (as many in here claim) pretty much guarantees u wont be officiating in the tourney nevertheless advancing through the tourney to the final twelve.
So as bad as some of u think they were, theres evidently 790ish worse.

Have to agree with HMW that officiating is probably not going to improve significantly unless these guys are paid a full-time salary. Then the threat of losing their job would carry some weight. As it is, there's little to no accountability for incompetence.
