NFL 2019-20

Yeah, there have been some bad owners in the NFL, Hugh Culverhouse comes to mind, but Snider might be the worst of all time.
It's a bad situation because... he's young-ish, he's worth a trillion dollars, and he's a huge Redskins fan. If he ever sold it, the name would be changed. And, as long as he remains the owner, the team will be sub-par. So, it's lose-lose as a fan. Home games have more opposing fans now.

His need to cling to past greatness is annoying. It's great to be nostalgic. But, Snyder constantly hires these inept associations from those glory days, like it's going to bring the past to the present... and, it never does.

The Seahawks should be ashamed of these home uniforms on TNF

Meh... Snyder is still the owner.

The team is pathetic. Gruden has basically come out and said he never wanted Haskins. Shanahan offered the same thing when asked about drafting RG3.

No one wants to work for Snyder and company.
In 20 years of snyder, skins have only 5 playoff appearances but 8 seasons lost 10 or more. They've gone through 20 QBs and 8 HCs.

Snyder will own it until he dies. Bruce Allen is inept.

Redskins fans are selling their tickets like never before.

That Mason Rudolph "lights-out" moment is another stone in the boat of football as an organized sport.

Yikes! Just watched it.
Jamaal Williams carted-off after being totally unconscious and dropping like he was shot in week 4. I keep seeing the frequency and severity, and every veteran that dies, and donates their brain, has a brain full of CTE.

And, maybe it's just me, but the penalty flags are becoming a PAIN IN THE ASS! They are ruining so many games with a flag on virtually EVERY play.

If you're watching that game, is the niners D that good? They are sorta sneaking up on me, as they were pretty bad last year without Jimmy G.
The 49ers are dominating it. The Rams are like 0-9 on 3rd and 4th downs today. The 49ers are 5-0

story of dallas...odd play-calling, weird officiating, injuries, missed FG’s.

it’s hard to blame the hc, but my goodness...he’s ultimately responsible for everything...they haven’t quit, which is amazing at this point.

I agree you can't blame this or that specific play or incident which occurs within one game on Garrett - and they have had a lot of injuries, etc. - and Jets aren't likely as bad as their record....

…and I didn't watch one play of yesterday's game. But - what I will put on Jason Garrett, and why I think eventually (by end of this year) - he needs to go, and will be gone. You hit it on the head. Ultimately JG is accountable for HOW they show up and play....they have no swag right now - they barely show up, and they play like a bunch of ambushed chumps first 3 quarters of every game. Not ready to play at all. That mindset and readiness is 100% on JG. He absolutely needs to go. He's had more than his fair share of time. What is going to change, that hasn't already, to make him into a motivator and leader?

I think a big part of a HC job is to get his team on both sides of the ball to be aggressive and come into the game ready to punch the other team in the mouth, to get an early advantage, have the other team react, have to catch up.

Look at all the games, even the games the Cowboys won this year. Even against Washington and Miami - two worst teams in the league, the Cowboys were or should have been behind even at halftime. I swear every game the Cowboys look like somebody woke them at 3am Sunday morning and told them the game was moved to starting at 3:30 AM - get your uniform on.

You can say that same thing about the playoff losses for this team, too. Against Rams last year and Packers the year before - didn't start playing until second half, and then it was too late. Another game yesterday where they don't get a touchdown til basically the 4th quarter (or none at all against the meh defense Saints).

There just comes a time it seems where people are tired of hearing the same things from the same guy, and they tune him out - the coach "loses" the players, and they quit on him. I know the Cowboys rally back, but it feels like Garrett doesn't have them in the right mindset at the opening gun.....

….on both sides of the ball. I like Richard (?) they got from Seattle....but this is supposed to be a decent secondary. How do they let some rusty QB who is average at best when healthy throw to a bunch of no name WRs for like 350 yards?

What are they doing during the week? Watching any film? Creating any game plan including solving for known injured players? What is Garrett doing in-game? I don't see that he has any notes or play sheet, or anything that makes me think he is personally doing any coaching, leading, deciding, adjusting.

Most importantly - how many days until first Heels college basketball real game?

@Heelicious didn’t catch on to this yesterday until i heard it again this morning...yesterday romo said “i see garrett’s footprints all over this offense...a lot like 07 and 09...i’d like to see them become more situational.”

if that is not an indictment on garrett and his philosophy, i don’t know what is...he’s basically saying garrett is still stuck in the 90’s nfl, or try and beat the man in front of you...instead of being “schematic” like most teams, the cowboys are still “thematic”...games change from series to series sometimes, certainly quarter to quarter and week to week...this is a huge week for this org...philly sunday night is for the division and maybe for some jobs.

Great post. I saw on Blogging the Boys where they assessed what happened in the game. A couple key things:
1) lots of dropped passes
2) most on the defense are performing below expectations, especially those that they were counting on to be stars
3) they still run way too much on first and second down. Like a crazy amount. (Author seems to think that is Garrett having his hands in the pie).
4) most of all - it is clear to any observer that JG is outcoached on a weekly basis, even by rookie or bad coaches with lesser on-field talent. He just never seems to have his guys ready to play early in the game.
