NFL 2019-20

….hard for me to think of a guy who bothers me more than him. I think most rational people believe he is guilty of murder, and got off based on a glitch / technicality in the legal system. It happens, unfortunately...

but then for him to not show modesty, remorse, etc. and just stay mostly out of the national public eye (example: delete your social media accounts) and how he is so smug, giving advice and acting just like he's a regular popular past NFL player / celebrity.... is the height of arrogance. I just remembered - didn't he also get put in jail for breaking in and trying to steal some collectibles, like maybe his own Hiesman trophy?

I don't recall the details, but he is just a POS in human form, that angers me every time I see his face. He deserves some vigilante justice.
I think OJ managed to convince himself that he didn't do it.

said same thing today vs washington

side note, gladly eating my words on prescott...this offense fits him perfectly, they are rolling.
#metoo
I know Washington and especially NYG aren't great or even good teams, but the Cowboys are looking really good on both sides of the ball. They have a lot of options on offense. I never even knew this Devin Smith guy who caught the 51-yard perfect ball (like 40+ yards past line of scrimmage in the air) was on the team.

Sort of funny how Dak torched always-yapping-way-beyond-his-play-level Josh Norman on a few throws yesterday, and kind of put him on his butt via a stiff arm, running 35 yards downfield

As you said, I don't think Cousins is all that great either - certainly not elite - but maybe if they keep it out of his hands as much as possible, they will be more successful.
Cousins "performance" yesterday was quite ugly - especially his interception on 1st and goal to go ahead with about 3 minutes left in the game - where there is no way any QB should throw the ball in-bounds on that situation. Brutal. It seems lots of fans are realizing they have signed a guy to a big contract who is middle of the pack at best, can't really be counted on to be the guy to make a big or even routine play to win them the game. He's got a long way to go to prove himself, win back fans' trust. He's sort of a turnover machine

I heard Cousins record versus teams with winning records is abysmal; something like 5 - 28. Just another idiotic move by the Vikings organization. They could've kept a guy that was more successful in that offense in Case Keenum for way less money.

Dallas game was a little closer (10pts), so I understand keeping the starter in.

But Patriots were killing dolphins. If I were a Pat's fan, I'd want Brady to sit the 4th qtr rather than risk injury. What say ye, @Hark_The_Sound_2010 ?

Same with Rams - they were up 18 with a few minutes left. It was obvious the saints weren't gonna threaten without Brees. I think I saw Goff take a shot to the head late in the game. Wouldn't that be a pisser for Rams fans if he had to sit out a few games with a concussion?

You guys worried about Cam? Something else going on besides the shoulder?

After Luck's early retirement, Gronkowski's public comments of his concussions, Ken Stabler's brain was eroded with CTE, and I recently saw where Mark Rypien is another CTE tragedy in-progress... it doesn't bode well for the sport, long-term, at all.

Gotta appease the fantasy football gods.
100% kidding. Nobody playing or coaching in the league cares about fantasy.

Yes - in the Cowboys game even with about 5 minutes it was possible that Washington could make a huge miraculous comeback. Not very likely, but it has happened in Cowboys / Redskins before. Maybe several times. Lots of quirky unbelievable finishes in that rivalry for some reason.

But I agree - Taking out Goff or Brees totally makes sense. If someone gets hurt there, the fans should be really mad. When you're up that much and no way can you lose - how is it any different than not playing starters in preseason, avoiding hits to them? At that point the QB likely should just be taking handoffs and handing it to some second or third string back. How high risk is that for anyone involved?

And its not like the QBs need a few extra reps to "stay sharp". Seems like only downside for keeping them in.

I'm guessing eye problems judging by his outfits.
Cam Newton and Russell Westbrook (NBA) seem like they could be brothers, seem so alike, in odd dress code, sort of an angry chip on their shoulder all the time, in-your-face combativeness with the media, reckless hell-bent physical painful way of playing (taking and delivering lots of hard contact)...

Sounds like Cam re-injured his ankle.

I certainly wanted him out. He could have sat out the 2nd half as far as I was concerned - that Miami offense wasn't scoring if they played 8 quarters.

But Brady is kind of a psycho that won't let his backups take any in-game snaps if he can avoid it. Hope that doesn't bite him in the ass at some point.

At some point? How old is he now? 42? I'm not sure how big, or bad, the actual bite could possibly be, if it ever did.

So the giants are going with Daniel Jones. It’s funny how they think the qb is their problem. How about this trade Eli to the colts. I would say my dolphins but that wouldn’t be fair to Eli.

You don't think a career ending knee injury with 3 mins to go on Sunday when we're up 41-3 on the Jets would be considered a big bite?
Well... that would be an unfortunate coincidence. His career is close to the end. He's had about as good of a career as anyone could ever hope to have, and probably ever will have. It's like when Hugh Hefner died, in a way. I dunno how he died, but his life was hardly cut short.

I can't think of a QB that's more overrated than Eli. The Giants should have traded him a couple of years ago.

said it for years...he and namath are the most overrated qb’s in the history of pro football.

he’ll get into the hof because he’s not only won two sb’s, but he’s been the mvp in both.

Since 1990, ~12% of 0-2 teams have made the playoffs. By that average, 1 of the following 9 winless teams, should get in the tourney: dolphins, jets, steelers, bengals, jaguars, broncos, giants, redskins, panthers.

Gun to my head I say maybe the Panthers but only because their division is shit right now without Brees, and they are only one game back. But I still see them finishing 6-10.

aikman, also overrated at his current job...he just repeats the same verbiage every week about different players.

he’s better on twitter because he’s honest...never have liked him on-air.

He and smug arrogant Buck are pretty much unlistenable. And having them have to pretend there is anything good about any Thursday night game (like last night's apparent snoozer) is painful to listen to.

I too like Aikman in person and on Twitter or whatever, and loved how methodical he was at QB -
but he has so many crutch phrases and lazy "go-to's" when announcing - much like Dick Vitale.

says "awfully good" often....
then something like:
" I don't know if you can't say he might not just be the best QB in the league right now" (hard to decipher the double, triple, quadruple conflicting negatives meant to convey a positive. Just come out and say "the guy is good. Here's why"
