There's literally a horrible play on half of the possessions. Felton terrible foul, Seventh and Luke beyond terrible passes, Kenny losing Langford to help on the baseline, can't even start talking about Brooks' possessions.
Seventh just crushed me there he was doing so well with defense then goes full intimidated mode on a play where we know he could have dunked it
Seventh is our best PG defender. Absolutely garbage on offense, but Roy rewards defense.
Not sure Felton "deserves" minutes at this point. But I'd give them to him, because we need him to play a big role if we're going to excel.
I'd try a lineup without any freshman bigs. But can't really be mad anymore, we're just getting smoked.
Okay, seriously, when is the ACTUAL team gonna come out of the locker room and tip off this game? This is the antithesis of what we have seen the entirety of this season. Bad games happen, I get that, but GEEZ!!!!!
That was an easy layup without the foul though. Seventh got beat on a backdoor. Rare defensive miscue for him.
Well, I think it's both. Their defense is really good but we've left 20 points on the table missing open shots.
Roy will play crazy lineups and let the guys work through it at the expense of a win early in the season all day every day After getting worked up over early season losses all my life Roy finally convinced me his way works last year. enjoy the ride and try not to make it all about the wins early in the year with Roy or you will drive yourself nuts
MSU is a really good defensive team. They haven't played out of their minds or anything.
Let's be clear, this loss has nothing to do with the lineups. We don't have a single player that's played even an adequate game today, and I'm sure they'd say the same thing. We played good defense, but handled the ball terribly and shot at an unacceptable level for college ball on layups, at the line, and from three.
Thankfully only 8 minutes to go 55-34... Again I say the team will learn and grow from this loss but the long flight home is not going to be very fun..
Msu they are literally fouling and daring the refs to call it every possession. It's like a more aggressive packline defense
Yep. This isn't a "Roy the mad scientist" game. We're just outclassed. This team has significant weaknesses, and Michigan State is exploiting them. They were visible in all of our wins so far, for those who cared to look.
Berry is really hurting himself in this game. No leadership. No offense. Marginal defense. He can't afford this. Even if we lose, he needs to be seen to carry the team and give them their best chance.
