Miami in danger of getting blown out early versus Villanova. Nova has used some half court pressure to create sloppy turnovers and the Canes' defense has been just awful.

ETA: Haha, Miami immediately goes on a 9-0 run to cut it to 29-23. Both teams are shooting well, combined 9 of 10 on 3-pointers. Miami is just killing themselves with TOs.

I'm gettin in the bed. Both games on now are over and I'm not staying up for the others

Looks like a dookie repeat is

Oregon was pretty impressive. Much better than I thought they were. The two E8 games Saturday should be great.

LOL@ncstate

- Cat Barber declares (as he should)
- Abu is testing the NBA waters (lol)
- Martin twins are transferring.

Are they gonna be able to field a team of 5 next year? :p

Things I love:
  • dook losses
  • dook losses in the NCAAs
  • the Leader of Men getting salty after a loss
In Oregon's final possession, with the shot clock under three seconds, Dillon Brooks heaved a 3-point attempt from about 30 feet out. It happened to go in. So in the handshake line after the game, K stops Brooks for a long lecture where he allegedly told Brooks he was "too good of a player to be showing off at the end."

Coach Krybaby lecturing another team's players on sportsmanship? That's rich. The best part is that K denied that's what he said after the game. Of course he did, because he knows it was a little bitch thing to say. I'm too lazy to find it, but somebody posted a Vine of the encounter and you can clearly read K's lips to confirm that's what he said. That dude needs his diaper changed.

Here's a picture of the shot, by the way.

Don't want him to make it? Guard him. It's simple basketball X's and O's. Surely, a HOF coach such as he can grasp the concept.
Disagree. Good sportsmanship says you call off the dogs down 11 with only ~20 seconds to go or whatever. But what was Dillon supposed to do? Just hold the ball and turn it over on a shot clock violation? No. He was perfectly within his rights to shoot it, and sportsmanlike to make sure it was a low percentage shot instead of doing something like driving to the basket.

You basically agreed with me even though you said you disagreed lol!

Regardless, it is not K's place to lecture him. In effect, K is demeaning Oregon's coach because K thinks it's his responsibility to lecture the guy because the Oregon coach won't.

I'm not old enough to know -- is this something Dean would've done? I know he would stop opposing players after games and praise them, but would he ever lecture an opposing player like that?

Also....Heaven help me. I'm making some posts on Radar. I can only ignore the groupthink for so long.

I kind of want to post on the thread about ESPN having to go out of business because they can't promote dook anymore. They must have missed the fact that Bilas has been calling UNC the best team all year or that KU is mentioned all the time as one of the best teams in the country. I think they might have even mentioned some team from Kentucky a few times.

Or missed the fact that EVERY. SINGLE. Carolina game is on ESPN family of networks.

They put our f***ing game against Tulane on ESPN or ESPN2 for goodness sake. Not even I wanted to watch that sh*tty game, yet it was on ESPN.

I've railed on Radar for years about the stupid dSPN thing. It's honestly too dumb to even insult. They ain't the smartest folks over there, discussing the unc tarheels and what not.

Nope. I disagree that K should've had someone guarding him. That would've been a dick move.

I was basically surprised to see K concede the loss last night since he so rarely does.
I bet he feels really stupid for being so scruffy toward that reporter the other day when the guy brought up their 0-4 record on the West Coast in NCAAT games or whatever.

Oh wait, my mistake, he doesn't know how to "feel"

Maybe a replacement for Roy when he retires? Assuming he does a good job at Stanford of course. I also love the fact that he is replacing a failed K disciple.
I saw Dawkins on the show with Barkley, Kellogg and Gumble, I think. He gets canned, then gets a spot on the panel. He was in Kenny Smith's chair.

I also recall Allie Laforce saying she spoke to Allen about his tripping legacy, and his aggressive behavior (being a douchebag) and then asked if Coach K had told him to stop it. He said (paraphrased) :"No, Coach K told me to use it more and as much as I could." Ta-Dah! What a shock. Coach K encouraging players to remain a little kid and throw fits, play dirty and see if you can get away with it... then act as if you're the model of sportsmanship.

I know that Coach K revels in this kind of sh*t. His team lost, but he's still the focal point. This is why I have trouble respecting his coaching abilities at all, and all of his accomplishments (on and off the court).

People had mentioned a rivalry between us and UVa earlier in the season. It's difficult to form a hatred-driven rivalry to a team that acts and plays exactly as they should, without conceit or being pompous. K and his legacy lacks humility. It's like a big brown stain on golden toilet paper.

I know, but it seemed odd to me. He gets canned and as a reward, he gets on that panel? Why?

These networks always do this -- look at Seth Greenburg (spell?). He got the ESPN gig after being canned by VaTech. Bruce Pearl got an ESPN spot after being canned at Tennessee for rules violations.

My guess is they want someone who has a fresh perspective from having just been on that level.

Congrats to Coach Haase! Get a Tar Heel (or at least a Roy tree) in there to show em how it's done!

I'm done. The responses on the Haywood thread on Radar takes the cake for dumbest thread responses I've read this calendar year -- that includes Pack Pride.

By the way, who the heck are all these Radar posters I never see on Blitz? (Rhetorical question, Farley. Take a lap.)
