Ok, I've got an easier question. What percentage of radar posters would say that there is no question it's the 8 in 17 comeback?

If they had just chucked the ball all the way down the court and out of bounds, and made Texas A&M run their offense the whole length of the court, they'd still have won with ease.
If nobody touched the ball, A&M would've gotten the ball from the original spot of the inbounds under UNI's basket.

With a 12-point lead under a minute, the clock is your biggest ally. UNI's strategy should've been simple. Inbound the ball, and hold it until you're fouled or a 10-second half court violation occurs.

One of the non-calls that pisses me off is when defenders lean into a ball handler, causing him to lose his balance and either lift his pivot foot (turnover) or dribble. Pushing a ball handler off his established position like that is a defensive foul, pure and simple.

Yes but once they had the ball inbounds (the two guys that each got trapped on the baseline and tried to bounce it off the defender, leading to layups) they could have flipped it down court with the clock running and if it went out of bounds at the far end it would have to be inbounded there, taking far more time.

But I agree, in both cases, the guy who received the ball basically got bodied out of bounds with no call. The defender has a right to his own space but you can't keep moving forward and pushing the ball handler off his spot.

^^^ Yeah, once it's inbounded they're good. There were just so many things that had to go exactly wrong and they all did. Heartbreaking for UNI. I was really hoping they'd win anyway so none of those kids spends the rest of his life knowing they're a part of history in the wrong way. They're just kids, after all.

What JuleZ said is what I meant.

What's going on over there? You talking about a specific thread?
It was in one of their hundreds of "UNC scandle [sic]" threads. I don't read those, but they started a new one and misspelled 'scandal' so I clicked on it just to see if anyone called the original poster out for it, and someone re-posted a manalishi post from a previous scandal thread. I'll post it below and let y'all laugh at it. There's so much fail and so much straight-up BS in it that I can't even.

I've been working on another matter for the past few weeks, but a quick update:

There were some serious and heated discussions in CH following Wednesday night's debacle regarding self-imposing for this year, ala Louisville. Part of the reason was exasperation of what transpired versus Duke, no doubt, but word is that other news has begun to trickle out, as well. (see Greenberg, Gottlieb, etc.)
And the discussions were among some of the TRUE string-pullers in CH -- certainly not the pawns like BC and CF.

It also sounds like another name will be "sacrificed" in the coming weeks. We know that unc's "firings" sometimes move at a snail's pace, but if it goes down as is currently being discussed, its purpose will be yet another convoluted, half-hearted PR attempt.

LOL ^ we lost to Duke so we considered a self-imposed post-season ban. Also, Bubba Cunningham is a pawn and has no power. Y'all got all that down?

Seriously, those folks over there have developed a legitimate mental condition when it comes to hating Carolina. I'm sure they're otherwise smart people, but their hatred for Carolina renders them blind, deaf, and dumb.

LOL@State posters have been promising a major bombshell development for the last 4 years now. We're still waiting.

Since they have no athletic accomplishments to enjoy, the UNC scandal marks the cadence of Moo fans' pathetic lives.

Yep. And that ain't even hyperbole -- it's legitimately true. If you take the time to go over there immediately after a bad Moo loss (so every game basically), the UNC scandal thread will be "hot" because they flock to it to make themselves feel better.

At least some of them have become self-aware. Here's another quote from a different thread:

"Since NCSU athletics has to rely heavily on the failing of others to succeed, is Gottfried someone that could take advantage of this opportunity?"

That's the truth right there.

And back to relevant basketball ...

Call it - who's going to the Elite Eight?

Kansas/Maryland
Miami/Villanova
Oregon/duke
Texas A&M/Oklahoma
UNC/Indiana
Notre Dame/Wisconsin
Virginia/Iowa State
Gonzaga/Syracuse

Also just a note of credit to the seeding committee, since they've gotten so much flak. They managed to arrange it so that even with six teams from the ACC making it to the Sweet 16 (8 games), none of them have to knock each other out in this round.

Yeah that particular thread is all kinds of "we admit defeat because we suck." The premise of the thread is thus:

- Mike and Mike made a comment that Roy, K, Pitino, and Boeheim could all be retired within 4 years
- if that happens, will we (NC State) be able to capitalize on the four best programs being in a transitional period?
- basically, can we suck less in the future when other schools have to replace HoF coaches?

Survey says:

But really, I'm going with...

Kansas
Villanova
Duke (boo)
Oklahoma
UNC
Notre Dame
Iowa State
Gonzaga

kansas
nova
oregon
oklahoma
unc
notre dame
iowa st
gonzaga

Haha. Cuse thinks they're swinging a big one now that they beat a middling Dayton team and a 15 seed in MTSU to get to the S16. Congrats on your wins over a couple mid-majors.

As for my picks in the next round:

Kansas
Miami
Dook
Oklahoma
UNC
Notre Dame
Virginia
Syracuse

All 6 ACC teams move on, to make the EE essentially the ACC invitational.

I'm going to admit right up front that this is influenced by what I'd like to happen, though I will try to include a smidgen of reality.

Kansas - Wouldn't mind seeing Kansas get knocked off but don't see it happening this early.
Villanova - The Canes have played some good ball but not convinced they have the weapons to stop 'Nova. With that said I haven't actually watched 'Nova play, so take it for what it's worth.
Oregon - duke's rabbit foot finally falls out of its a**.
Oklahoma - Aggies suffer a letdown after that impossible comeback.
UNC - Yeah.
Wisconsin - Maybe ND will surprise me.
Virginia - Still getting by on defense and Brogdon.
Syracuse - That Adam Morrison dude doesn't play for Gonzaga any more, does he?

I was listening to Atlanta radio an hour ago and the 9-noon show has former Atlanta Falcon and Villanova Wildcat Brian Finneran. Because of that connection, they have 'Nova coach Jay Wright on from time to time, including today. I gotta say.....he's an impressive interview and seems like a stand-up guy.

Any thought on him being a potential replacement once Roy hangs it up? I know, I know, JW isn't from within the family (!!!11!!!!1!!!), but frankly, I don't think we should go inside the family. Ex: Bubba Cunningham. Ex 2: Larry Fedora. Ex 3: Dean Smith. Ex 4: Mack Brown.

Bump, and thoughts?
