OOTB Carolina football discussion thread

If Miami wins close the ACC could end up with 2 teams in the play-offs.

I want to see it just to watch the SEC crowd at ESPN lose their friggin' minds.

The playoff committee is sitting on go looking for the first any chance they can get to put Bama back into the playoff!

You watch Bama will be in regardless of what happens mark it down!

Can we all just take a second and LOL at Tennessee? This fiasco couldn't happen to a better fanbase. I didn't think Schiano was a spectacular choice, but the UT fans suddenly finding their moral compass was pathetic. They don't give af about his involvement in the Sandusky thing (which has been proven false, btw), they just thought he wasn't a big enough "splash" hire. Did Tennessee fans protest and raise hell last year when their own players avoided being prosecuted for rape (due to shady local police communications directly with Butch Jones)? Nah, of course not lol.

So their new AD backs out of the Schiano deal after STATE SENATORS publicly say they're considering launching investigations (seriously, I thought North Carolina's state government was a bunch of dummies) and scrambles to find a new target.

- Gundy? Nope.
- Kevin Steele? Lol.
- Chad Morris? Nah he's probably holding out for a Texas job.

UTLOL

ETA: and like I said, when I first heard they were after Schiano, my gut reaction was "wow, that's underwhelming." But since UT has backed off, I've heard a lot of people who are really knowledgeable about football say it would've been the perfect hire to put Tennessee back on the map.

Whoops :p

I've sent in my resume. The way things are going, they might have to give me a serious look.

Personally, I don't get the appeal with Brohm, but yeah. Rumor is he's already said no. Tee Martin........well that's one hell of a reach. Feels like a Matt Doherty hire.

Brohm said no? Wow, they really are running out of options. That disaster last weekend is ruining their program.

Is he trying to work himself into the UT job?
No, Ole Miss. According to USA Today's Dan Wolken, Doeren expected to be handed that job. So much so that he cancelled his assistants' recruiting trip in anticipation of the announcement. Then, Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl (only cuz MSU's QB got hurt) and Ole Miss AD decided to remove the interim tag from their current guy.

So then Doeren scrambled to insert himself into the Miss State coaching search (which is now filled) and the Tennessee search (but UT doesn't consider him a good fit). So I REALLY hope Doeren strikes out and has to remain at Moo. It will be hilarious. I expect Moo to lose some recruits as it is. I mean....your coach doesn't wanna be there.

I don't think there's any chance of that happening unfortunately. Miami killed that with their loss to Pitt.

If Miami beats Clemson close the Tigers won't fall past 4. Their strength of schedule will keep them up there (the fact they beat Auburn). Miami will be in due to winning the ACC and their SOS. Already heard a couple of the talking heads calling it this morning.

We shall see. Clemson still would have the best resume, regardless of if the committee puts them in or not. Their resume is substantially better than any other team's. Only Auburn's is close.

I seriously doubt UT even asked him. Smells like Cutcliffe just stoking his own ego. He gets a lot of praise for ONE good year at Duke.

I completely agree. And all that garbage about him being the QB Whisperer and I could have started at QB for duke during his tenure because what they've had has been so bad. I think he's an average coach and an unlikable guy. He's perfect for duke.

Hearing on the local sports talk here in NC that doerreeen is getting interviewed by UT.

Also, word is UT's AD offered Brohm; Brohm accepted; UT's Chancellor rejected the offer as being too high and countered with a lower offer; Brohm rejected the counter. So now they are looking at doerreeen. What a cluster.

It's funny that you hear the UT AD is in the triangle area for their coaching search and I imagine all 3 fanbases are sitting there saying "please take our guy, please take our guy..."
