OOTB's Political Thread . ..

I see you didn't stop to compare the differences in media coverage, both positive and negative, of Obama and Trump. Love the way you pick and choose. You would make an excellent politician.

Vegan Cory Booker Says Meat Eaters’ Days Are Numbered

Evidently, Sparticus wants to force everyone to become a vegan. These people won't stop until we end up in the movie Demolition Man.

See, according to Cocteau's plan, I'm the enemy. Cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind if guy who wants to sit in a greasy spoon and think, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol. I want to eat bacon, butter and buckets of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in a non-smoking section. I wanna run through the streets naked with green Jello all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to. Okay, pal? I've seen the future, you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sittin' around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake singing "I'm an Oscar-Meyer Wiener".

you’re trying way too hard and that part is funny...he says he supports said bills, not forcing people to do anything.

whatever you think of him, his reasoning has evidence behind it...just like eating all this shit pumped up with who knows what, is bad for you, has evidence behind it.

Doesn't the women's movement have something to say about that? Something like, "My body my choice?" At least I don't want to abort babies.

I'm not buying the running out of beef idea. That problem can be solved through cannibalism. Over 7 billion people is more than enough food.

What a stupid thing to say!

"A Democratic Missouri state senator from University City posted, then quickly deleted, a comment on Facebook saying she hoped President Donald Trump would be assassinated.

As a result of Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal’s comment, the U.S. Secret Service’s St. Louis field office is investigating and both Sen. Claire McCaskill and the chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party have called on her to resign."

I can only assume that because it was a state legislator it didn't get national coverage. But, it's definitely newsworthy. That's fugged-up.

Yeah, it came from a state legislature, and yeah it's not very nice at all, but you just have some people like that. I'm obviously not going to put this on the Democrat Party as a whole.

Panera Bread's Socialist 'Pay What You Want' Experiment Fails Miserably

Imagine that. The best quote from the article:

You know who's probably suffering from food insecurity? The employees of Panera Cares who are no longer employed and no longer receive paychecks. You can't buy food if you don't have a job, and providing jobs is only assured if companies are focused on making money. If Panera had cared more about making money than promoting a constantly refuted ideology, its employees would still be receiving paychecks. Frighteningly, though, a growing segment of the populace seems to be allergic to common-sense economic principles.

That's awesome. Things like this and The Green New Deal are the best.

Them: "Let's show everyone how great our progressive ideas are, how well they work, and how much support they have!"

How is that socialism? That’s clearly still a capitalist model, it’s just a shitty one.

What a POS

“I will share the widely accepted definition used across academic departments and activist space. Racism is composed of racial prejudice interpersonally and institutional bias against racial minorities. I do not hate white people, and no institution has ever built a system around disenfranchising or marginalizing white men, so I am not a racist.”

Wow, I’ve heard of getting opinions from an echo chamber, but now we’ve moved into getting incorrect definitions from an echo chamber.

This was interesting:

"“[Regarding claims I am racist], I will share the widely accepted definition used across academic departments and activist space. Racism is composed of racial prejudice interpersonally and institutional bias against racial minorities. I do not hate white people, and no institution has ever built a system around disenfranchising or marginalizing white men, so I am not a racist.”

I guess academic departments and activist space needs to be modified to fit into real-life, day-to-day situations a bit better.

I don't agree that Racism has to be BOTH "racial prejudice interpersonally and institutional bias against racial minorities" in order for racism, as I understand it, to exist. But, I'm a white male, so my opinion, or assessment, isn't valid in her world view. I'm glad to hear she doesn't hate white people.

We've been doing that.

Kinda reminds me of the guy who put his son in law in charge of like ten different jobs that he wasn’t qualified for...

Kushner and his fam are single-handedly screwing my property value up here with some family squabbles around development. Our idiot lib mayor isn't making things better either.

So forgetting if we can that it concerns the wall, in general what are y’all’s feelings about a pres declaring a national emergency to force tax payers to fund a project that the majority of americans oppose?
