OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Humor with a requisite disclaimer... hilarious. I'm sure I'll laugh my ass off as soon as I learn to read much more better.
wow, that was a good one!

I wonder if Dahm comes back... I love watching two people wrestle with something that so many people believe is an objective truth/fact/reality. I will say that I didn't realize that guns are the highest cause of death in children in the USA. It's called "accidents/unintentional injuries." I thought it was having drag queens read them stories!

I don't have Apple TV and was not aware that there is such a program. But I was most disappointed as I really respect Stewart, his sense of humor, intelligence, willingness to buck the majority when he believes in something, etc. But to answer your question, Dahm should not come back. I watched the entire 8 and a half minutes and other than a question that required a simple yes or no answer, I don't think Stewart asked a single thing that he allowed Dahm to answer without talking over him, cutting him off and interjecting his own statement/fact/opinion/conclusion. It could have been just three or four minutes of Stewart talking by himself to the same end.

It was very disingenuous at best and you got to the heart of it by Stewart's technically correct, but vastly misleading stat that caused you to state: "I will say that I didn't realize that guns are the highest cause of death in children in the USA." Of course they are. However, these are not deaths caused by "children" who play with, find a gun, go into a gun store purchasing same, and so forth. These are shootings that are the result of under 18 year old's being involved in crime in urban areas. Drug trafficking, gangs, carjacking's, armored robberies, etc. It's shootings where they have been taught that the way to resolve arguments is with a firearm pulled from their waistband that they already were carrying. And here's a hint, already, none of them are legally allowed to have such a firearm, particularly in that context and none of them went through universal background checks to acquire such a weapon just like they didn't go through a pharmacy to score the fentanyl they have in the other pocket.

Thus, if you take away the blatantly criminal misuse of firearms, which will never be solved by the government doing dreamy or fantastical things like serializing bullets, the numbers drop enormously and stuff like car wrecks far outweigh gun deaths. Why don't we set all speed limits at a max of 25 mph and put governors on the cars so that they can't go over 30 under any circumstances whatsoever (government and Hollywood actors vehicles excepted of course)?

I dismiss TC because I recognize him for what he is: a shameless, craven, two bit liar who goes on national TV to deliberately sow discord by twisting facts and spreading misinformation. In no way am I anti-conservative when it comes to who I read or listen to. But he's a grifter. And he doesn't make any viewpoint in good faith or in the name of rational discourse.

I could just as easily say the exact same thing about you when it comes to the left. This is nothing more than the usual back and forth, which is tiring.

I have no idea how one 'promotes' being gay or transgender. It's not a common cold. It's not lifestyle a choice. You don't catch it from someone else. You don't just decide to be LGBT. This is your own projection at play. Which leads me to my next point.

We disagree on many things and I don't hold that against you. This is not about disagreement in politics. This is about you fundamentally misunderstanding a topic you don't know anything about and as a result you don't recognize when the individual rights of people like me are being attacked. Don't preach to me about denial.

You caught me in a rather bad mood given what's going on in certain legislatures at the moment. That's all I have to say.

Maybe there is something to this whole trans thing because you’re definitely whining like a bitch.

We just need more guns. The more guns, the better.

It's awesome to me how people are so divided over this. The authors of the Constitution were just as flawed and FOS as people are today.

you'll address me as Senor Giraffe, if you don't mind.

And you’ll address me as Mr. Smith, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Jones, LaShondra, and Nikita, the Siberian Husky.

I’m currently working with the IRS to issue me social security numbers for all my personalities. Getting some pushback with Nikita. But 4 out of 5 ain’t bad!

But you do want to promote transgenderosity, I assume because that makes you feel less alone.
It has nothing to do with 'promoting anything'.

As part of some group, I don't even recognize you.

That in itself, is the problem.

I suspect you're a tad narcissistic.

Lol you don't know me other than interactions on a message board and have no qualification to claim I'm narcissistic or anything else.

The problem is you make everything about you and your desire to be accepted as no different from anyone else. But you are different and I (we) have no obligation to pretend otherwise, any more than we should pretend to not notice that some people have red hair or twelve toes. We have an obligation to TREAT you like everyone else acccording to the laws that apply to everyone; and you can create all the imaginary boogeymen you want too, but you can't reasonably expect us to include them in our reality.

But you do.

The problem is not that I'm different. The problem is always the same: people disrespecting, belittling, and dismissing others because of differences- skin color, religion, gender, sexuality, etc. All I want to is to not be discriminated against because I'm transgender. That's it. But at present we are a punching bag for those dishonest folk on the far right. If you don't believe me, look at what was passed in Tennessee and Kentucky and look at some of the bills being filed in Florida and Texas. It all stems from ignorance.

I was in a bad mood yesterday and I apologize for snapping, but I regret even bringing this up. Just more of the same from the usual crowd.

In the sense that they were human and fallible, as we all are, that is certainly true. The big difference for them was their real life experiences and what their immediate family and generations just before them had experienced. The absurdity of some of the thinking that takes place today would never have been entertained for a moment because they had lived it. The phrase "that could never happen here" was rarely uttered because it either was happening or had just happened.

I'm referring to the way people exalt their language and ideas as being infallible. People use the context, given the time in which those men lived, to bolster their own crystallized and archaic perspective regarding circumstances that need to be addressed NOW. It's not 1787. More people are killed because they refuse to budge. Maybe they just need for their children or grandchildren to be murdered by some nutcase in a shopping mall in order to jar them into the present.

yes, that is exactly the problem. We have protections for individuals and for the citizenry as a whole. Those who think they deserve/require extra protections because they belong to some subset of American citizenry is definitely the problem. That the liberal side of things supports and encourages that lunacy is definitely the problem.

The notion that it's our duty to fix everybody else's boo-boo is the problem. The notion that we have to level the playing field after the game is played instead of before it is definitely the problem.

Those who think they have the right to make it a requirement for others to think of them a certain way and to address them a certain way and provide accomodations not provided to other Americans are putting themselves on an unAmerican pedestal. It's bullshit. It's the problem.

You think accomodations for your transgenderessness is rightful. But we didn't make you transgender. Why do we owe you anything beyond what any other citizen is afforded?

You want to make the world revolve around you. That's the problem. If you want people to respect you, then earn it, don't demand it. Are you behind the eight ball because of your circumstances? Probably, but who isn't behind the eight ball in some way. Your circumstance does not make you special and it does not put you in a position to impose made-up rights on others that exist just for you.

BTW, I have only your words here to judge you by. but I've seen enough of them to recognize the pattern. Pretty sure you're a narcissist.

This looks fun...

Define "any other citizen" for me. Remember, I'm illiterate with no sense of humor, so... have a heart. You're just an asshole to everyone, all the time? Or, do you wait to find out their individual traits that you personally don't understand before you start denigrating them?

Jesus you’re still on this? I don’t pay attention to this thread for a while and come back to see you’re still utterly obsessed with @carolinablue34 being trans. It’s all you poast about in here.

I stay away for awhile and when I come back, you're STILL ragging on @gunslingerdick for addressing other posters. That's all you do is rag on gunslingerdick for addressing other posters.

define 'any other citizen'? Really? I think that IS its own definition. It's self-defining. Regroup and try asking something not so illiterate. And try something not so ironic as you calling me on denigrating what I don't understand. That's pretty much your stock in trade.

You calling me a narcissist is hilarious.

We’re done here dude. Talking to you reminded me once more how useless the exercise truly is.

I didn’t know you had checked out. I’ll go back to tagging you in future poasts so you don’t miss any of my commentary.

At least Tucker Carlson gets paid millions of dollars to pretend to believe the shit he peddles. It's gotta be a sad consolation to hear it, believe it, and then spread it around and not get anything except a point of view that's dying.

Aw it’s cute that you defend him.
Lighten up, Francis. I'm not defending him, I'm taking a light-hearted jab at your post just for the ironic funzies of it.

Geezus, if you can find a sense of humor, how about lend it to @strummingram. If you do, be prepared to define 'sense of humor' for him.

talking to me is an exercize in uselessness just because I don't agree with your nonsense.

This is exactly what you might expect a narcissist to say.

worst case of reality denial syndrome I've seen in quite a long time. Thank God you don't have anosognosia like strummer has.

I’ll take a clinical diagnoses from you when hell freezes over.

You say I’m narcissistic without any evidence or background in qualifying that statement, therefore it must be true.

I’m starting to wonder where the narcissism actually lies 😂

try hard to grasp this, Ricky Retardo. IT...IS...SELF-DEFINING. The term IS the definition.

That's twice. Wanna go for three times a moron?
It's okay that you can't do it. I know you couldn't do it. I just thought maybe you'd have the balls to admit it. There is no such thing as an average person. Everybody is unique. And in your case, the only thing that's average is somebody that's exactly like you. So you just go on being an asshole toward people that you don't understand. Nothing new.

dude, you really are on the short bus. I apologize, I had no idea you were actually retarded. I thought you were just delusional but it seems you're both delusional and retarded. Yikes.

Nothing I have posted, not one word, indicates any mention of an average person. Nothing I have posted can be construed that way by a sound mind.

We have rights and laws that apply to everyone. All I said was that we owe transgenders nothing more than we owe any other citizen. The obvious idea being that transgenders shouldn't expect special treatment just because they are different and possibly feel put upon. They should expect only to be treated like everyone else according to our system.

Just to address your profound lunacy, people being or not being average in whatever way you might imagine has nothing to do with anything I said, neither before or just now.

You may return to your normal state of idiocy at this time.

Sorry... I originally asked about "any other citizen." Every citizen has unique circumstances.

of course, but that doesn't grant them all special consideration according to those circumstances. A citizen is a citizen, or at least that's how it should be..

yes, I know...as I indicated, the reality denial syndrome is strong in you.

Let me spell it out for you: if you're throwing around that term that loosely, chances are the egotistical stubbornness doesn't lie me with me.

you continue to exhibit severe denial of reality but of course you deny doing so. You're going to be a tough nut to crack...so to speak.
